It better be, since I think all three characters so far use modified backgrounds.

Vella doesn't use a modified background, just a subclass from Unearthed Arcana.

I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither.

Well, it depends on what you are changing. As long as it is tools, languages, proiciencies or custom personality, that's ok. Even equipment given by it might be.

Send me the sheet when it's done and I'll judge it by myself

Alright I updated my sheet a bit, particularly by using up some of my starting money, so now it should be completely done.

I think I got everything. Contessa Ripley Du Larák, ready for review.

It's kind of funny. Sufficiently advanced stupidity is like sufficiently advanced science; eventually, you find something you can't solve.

I was originally going to make a Barbarian with 14 Intelligence and the sage background, and have her be a librarian tracking down overdue books, but I had trouble putting it together properly. Her enemies list was going to include an evil wizard who had borrowed the library's copy of The Book of Vile Darkness ten years ago.

Aren't barbarians illiterate?

Is it even possible to make an illiterate character? Everyone starts with full fluency in at least 1 language no matter what race they choose.

Oh, apparently they phased the whole "barbarians are illiterate" thing out in 5th edition. I'm reading the player's handbook and it doesn't mention anything about it under the barbarian section. I never played a barbarian so I didn't know that. Huh.

It was definitely a thing in 3.5, and it might've still been a thing in 4th edition but who knows?

I also considered a heartbroken swashbuckler, a charlatan who impersonated a paladin and eventually became a real one basically by mistake, and an impatient wood elf monk who prefers to take the "Open Hand" and smack people upside the head with it. Oh, and a Paladin/Warlock Darth Vader clone.

Eventually I looked at myself and said "keep it simple, stupid."

3.5, but not 4e. I remember having fun times because I could read the ancient dragon text while our wizard couldn't.

I was tempted to do the wood elf monk thing too, except with the variant in the SCAG that lets you fire kamehameha blasts[lol]

But I saw the light domain and was like "that's my jam".

I'm partial to the life domain, because healing is what I always love doing. Patching people up and the like. But I'm considering playing a Tempest cleric at some point and basically being a viking. A buff, sweaty, bearded, mead-swilling viking.

...Actually, that'll probably be the manliest character I've made in... well, in a very, very, very long time. Possibly the manliest ever. I'm suddenly reexamining my character tendencies.

I was already doing the life domain in the previous RP for this setting, so I figured that while I'd still be a cleric for the healing, I could basically do a 180 in terms of implementation. So instead of a slow hammerslamming gruff lift domain dwarf, I'd do a sleek and agile light domain elf instead.

Plus since we start at level 3, granting access to level 2 spells, Prayer of Healing is powerful enough that I don't have to be super worried about not getting a +2 to my uses of Cure Wounds. Clerics in general can't really suck at healing, it's just a matter of whether they're good at it, or really good.[lol]

This party is being corrupted slowly with each new member addition to it...Deadpool, you surely could depending on what archetype we're talking about, but I must warn to that The 5th character of The party is already a almost complete sheet of ranger(though not yet The revised, but I'll work that out).

Also, no more room for players if you come in. 6 and done.

PS: Girl Power!

To be fair I think it got edited into the OP rather late without ever being explicitly pointed out.

Yes it was and it is my fault!

But some schedules have changed and I'll have to postpone the game thread in a day or two. Good for waiting on the rangers to make their sheets!
