I hadn't heard of that one. ^_^;;
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue.Today it’s only 75, but it still feels like it’s 85.
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue.Gloomy, intermittently rainy day. I actually like these sometimes- there's a certain type of entertainment i associate this weather with - gothic rock, post rock and shoegaze for music, anything noir-ish or horror-ish for books/movies/TV, and if I still had a PS 1 I'd be playing the original Silent Hill.
Speaking of the rain, did I ever tell y'all about the good luck I had when I went to Walt Disney World?
Before I went there, I would check on the weather section of Yahoo! now and then, and it said it would be raining in Orlando throughout the week. When I got there, though, there was nothing but the warm sunlight that Florida is famous for the entire time. As a matter of fact, it only rained one time (Saturday night/Sunday morning), and I was comfortably nestled in my hotel room when it happened.
It's five years later and I'm still pondering about that. Who was running Yahoo! Weather back then? Was it that guy from Curb Your Enthusiasm?
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue.Bump with a thought that just crossed my mind. I’m pondering if I’ll need a humidifier again sometime soon.
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue.Bump. The weather today is quite literally A Lighter Shade of Gray.
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue.I have three favourite weathers. I like sunsets in the summer, especially when it is cooler than the heat of the daytime, but not as cold as during the night. In the autumn I like sunny days, that are on the dry side and slightly chilly. Bonus-points if the leaves are still brightly colourful. My third favourite are really cold winter-days and nights, with a clear sky and very little wind. All of these are perfect for walking around with a camera.

Bump. This cold, dark, grey, windy, and slightly rainy weather is perfect for taking a nap in. :) Which I just woke up from.
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue.I just found out there’s a 70% chance of snow on Saturday. Good thing I’m working in the morning that day. Let’s hope I get home before it happens.
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue.It's gonna be super hot the next three days. I'm gonna head to the pool on Monday because otherwise I will probably overheat... I can't handle high temperatures very well x_x
FC: SW-1445-0294-1719/PSN: TekkenGirl4Lyfe/Currently playing: Fate/Samurai RemnantI got rain today, although it wasn't the terrible downpour they were making it sound like it was going to be.
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue.The snow has melted, it has rain, and dried up. I'm glad no rain froze up.
Since today is the first day of winter (for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, that is), I’m wearing my Game of Thrones T-shirt that says “Winter is Coming.”

I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue.In my area, it's gonna be on/off rain and/or freezing rain for the next several days. As someone who likes rain and stormy weather, I'm kinda torn on whether I want a series of ice storms and (possibly) occasional power outages for the next, like, seven days.

It's been bitter cold for almost a week straight with off and on light snow and freezing fog. Haven't seen much of the Sun in over 5 days.
Forecast says even colder today, especially tomorrow and into Monday with potentially heavy snow today into tomorrow. It's not expected to get above freezing until mid next week.
Cursed polar vortex.
I'm in the same situation, I'm afraid. x_x
Urge to move to Florida or South Africa rising...
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue.^ I'd prefer somewhere truly tropical like Hawaii or Puerto Rico or something like that. Though normally this type of cold doesn't last long in Colorado because of the Chinook winds. When we get cold like this, normally it only lasts a few days at most before the west winds pick up and warm us into the 40s and 50s.
We have had hardly any of that this winter. And for a La Niña pattern it's been unusually wet. I've seen those kinds of years where we struggle to get 18 inches of snow for the entire season when normally we get 5 to 6 feet over the course of October to May. We passed 5 feet of snow cumulatively since September two weeks ago and we have at least two more months of snow possible.
Good for alleviating drought conditions caused by last year's unusually brief monsoon season. Bad for having enjoyable outdoor weather in the daytime in the foothills and plains.
Ironically, in my fifth vacation story (the one that will take place between Volumes 11 and 12), two of the vacation destinations are countries that are famous for their wintertime atmospheres: Switzerland and Finland.
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue.Sorry about the double post, but man; what's going on in Honolulu that's making the air quality unhealthy?
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue.^ Is it a smelly fog that moves in after dusk and clears up by dawn? I saw the same thing a few years ago.
It's called vog. Volcanic fog. The wind and ocean currents bring it in from the seemingly perpetual volcanic eruptions of the Big Island.
I had a feeling volcanoes were involved.
In other news, the temperature is now one of my favorite numbers: 42.

I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue.So it seems like the transition from winter to spring has come here.
I'll be frank: I love all seasons, but the transitional period between winter and spring in particular, I don't like. It's usually grey and cloudy and can be that way for weeks, the temperature changes from freezing and snow in the air to several degrees plus and rain in an instant and everything is so wet, muddy and slippery all at once.
I don't mind rain, but it's in this particular instance, I don't like it. Make up your mind, nature!

My AO3 profile. Let sleeping cats lie and be cute and calming.I suddenly find myself hoping I get another 80 degree St. Patrick’s Day. :) ^_^;;
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue.^^ I like wet seasons like spring (and summer monsoons). Then again, I live in a dry climate not that many ticks away from being a desert so rain is never unwelcome.
That said, yes you note correctly that winter seems to have officially checked out and spring is here climate wise. Here in Colorado while we still have two months (three in the mountains) of potential snow, it's not going to get as cold as it was two weeks ago anymore. Furthermore I saw and confirmed it yesterday after some snow, the clouds have begun their transition from winter flat to summer puffy. The upper atmosphere has begun its normal seasonal warming.
And the forecast for next week is looking awesome. For once a week without snow or cold snaps averaging about 15C (59F) to 17C (~63F) all week from Monday through next Friday. After a brief mountain snow which may or may not drop anything on me this Sunday.
Then again again, it's March, there's no true predictability in March in Colorado. I've seen several occasions where thunderstorms or snow or heat or all three happen all in the same day, all unpredicted.
I was always thinking it was around 137F (~58C) and happened in the Qattari Depression in Libya.
