I was going through the character pages from Game of Thrones and noticed several instances of side notes labeled "From the books" which provides trivia about how a given trope applies to the character in the book series that the show is based on.

Considering a A Song of Ice and Fire already has its own unreasonably expansive character section, is that allowed?

Random example:

Game of Thrones - House Reed, under Jojen Reed, it talks about how the character doesn't have seizures in the books even though he does in the show.

I sort of like them. Helps mark out the tropes that exist by adaptation. The hottip format makes it less bulky than other pages where it'd just be in the description. And it's a lot easier than comparing character pages to see which tropes show up because of the adaption process. If it were up to me I'd encourage this to be done across more work pages who are adaptations of other media.

Well the character section is expansive because it has a lot of characters who are themselves pretty detailed and complex. I don't see "It has a lot of characters, so we need to balance that by being less detailed" as much of a reason for anything. It's not like there's a strict length limit.

If an example is only relevant to a specific adapation, you can just mention that in the trope. No need to mention more than what's relevant for the trope in question.

The only thing that shouldn't be too expansive is the description for singular examples. You should include enough context so someone will understand it without having read or seen it, but if you start writing multiple paragraphs (or a Wall of Text), you should consider shortening it. If you have tons of examples, all that matters is that they all fit.

The question I understood the OP to ask is "Should trope examples from the original medium appear in the adaptation medium trope list?". The specific example is concerned with character subpage of the work, widely edited for both mediums.

I'm going to say "very rarely". Based on our preference for original medium, I'm willing to argue such references should be made on the original medium or franchise page. This would be one reason to list an Averted Trope in the work; because the adaptation used the trope.
