When the first cavemen to hear music changed the course of human history forever, a god was born. Different from other kinds of gods, he was a benevolent spirit , and a curious one, only concerned with making more music. It's pretty obvious where this goes. It didn't take long for the world to be filled with musical genres and Gods and Goddesses to represent those genres. Whenever a new musical genre was discovered on Earth, there was a new God that would pop up. Eventually, these Gods decided they'd liked to be a little more hands on with humanity, and revealed themselves to the world.

It wasn't long before these Gods became beloved, some reviled, as celebrities, superheroes, and aliens. They've allowed humanity to progress at an interesting rate. share a futuristic colorful cyber-punk-ish world together, some helping humanity, some trying to harm it, some just wanting more fans. Every God had their own domain, together keeping the balance of music.
Hey there! I'm back with another RP. It's been a while. This time, it's a fun game set in a magical future world, where the players will be Gods and Goddesses, each representing a different musical genre. You can pick any musical genre you want, from Classical, to Grunge, to Reggae to Electroswing to Gospel, to whatever! Your character became the god at the same time the musical genre became a thing on Earth, having been a human themselves and died, being reborn as a God, and forgetting the specifics of their old life, but remembering the time. All of this Gods have domains such as luck, love, fire, dogs, money, cars, war. Most of the Gods have multiple domains. Their own personalities and goals. They pretty much all know each other, even if they don't all like to talk. Some, the big ones, are the most respected. The Gods are considered superstars and celebrities, in all that that entails. Going on tv, having videos on the internet, doing concerts, etc. They are powered by how many fans they have.
So that's the idea. This will be a mostly free-form RP, where we can freely travel around the Earth. A favorite spot of the gods is the Los Angeles area, now known as a super-hub for musical energy, where all musical genres and fans collide in a massive city-scape.

If you have any questions let me know!

  • Human Name: Frederick Calzaretta
  • God Name: Dean "Deano" Strongarm
  • Age: Eh, around a hundred, hundred ten years?
  • Sex: M
  • Musical Genre: Big Band
  • Fan Power: 3
  • Appearance: Modernizing his look for the future.
  • Personality: Dean's energetic and optimistic. He's seen the world for a long time, and things could be a lot worse than they are (and he won't hesitate to tell you so). He doesn't let disagreement and conflict get to him. He figures that whatever way it turns out, long as nobody's hurt it's all okay. Unfortunately, life isn't always okay, and when someone's really hurting people or when people are trying to put down a delicious Uproar, Dean jumps at the chance to help fuck up someone trying to do something real bad in any way he can.
  • History: Frederick was born to a decently wealthy family of Italian-Americans. He was able to get most anything he wanted when he was younger, on account of all the money. Dad was a lawyer and brought in plenty of steady cash, and Mom painted, which would get them the big windfalls they'd need for new houses or cars. The thing was, the two of them met because each one wanted to do what the other one did. So Frederick grew up in a household of people playing in a system they hated to get shit they felt like they'd barely earned. He grew kind of cynical of this whole America thing if black folks and women and Jewish folks and anyone else who wasn't absolutely perfect couldn't get a fair shake; this eventually escalated into some juvenile crime. Nothing much, just stealing shit here and there, but the rush of rebellion really got to Frederick. Crime still had systems and rules to it, whole organizations devoted to it, but it was totally different from the fucked-up world he was living in. His life turned to crime on the sly, and he was fortunate enough to die without his parents knowing about his little hobby—they thought he was a banker who got involved in a bad robbery, hence the bullet holes. Everything turned out basically okay, at least for Frederick personally.
    • Then Frederick got back up. Only it wasn't Frederick anymore, it was Dean Strongarm. He wasn't sure what was happening just then, but there was music coursing through his veins and whole gangs of folks blowing people away with that music. Talking about gambling, and love, and swinging the night away in a way that Dean felt he never really experienced in life. He had to make sure this continued, and so with powers steadily awakening to his consciousness Dean started robbing like he knew he used to, only on a completely different scale. This money he then coordinated and flung into these new artists he was so intimately tied to. Two world wars came and went before him, and Dean stayed strong, even as other gods of music rose up around them. He remained relevant and strong too, through ironic references, retro lovers, samplers, and old folks, and Dean was fine with that. He might be weaker now, but he's never felt better. That, or he just knows he could be feeling a lot worse.
  • Domain/Abilities:
    • Dean is a consummate example of the wiseguys that loved his music back in the day. He can reach into any closet or suitcase and have access to suits, ties, makeup, musical equipment, and the skills to use them expertly.
    • One of the only "domains" Dean has any real control over is the premise of Uproar. Whenever something new happens that gets a heavy backlash from people unused to it, Dean knows about it immediately.
    • Dean can link up his allies into a sort of Hive Mind, allowing people to operate with him in perfect sync through telepathy and shared senses. Makes for great jazz ensembles, baseball teams, and bank heists. The link is established by touch and consent, but stretches an infinite distance.
    • Dean can perceive radio waves and other forms of transmission as if it was noise. Like that one scene in Lucy.
    • Dean gains superhuman strength the longer he goes without using it. It builds faster if he's hanging out with people who don't know about it, and when he's fully powered up Dean can throw punches strong enough to flip trains. This takes like a whole day of zero super strength being used to power him up for a single swing, however.

  • Human Name: James Pinkerton
  • God Name: The Wurlitzer
  • Age: 22
  • Sex: M Gender: F
  • Musical Genre: Midwest Emo
  • Fan Power: 1
  • Appearance: WIP
  • Personality: She can come off as a bit whiny, especially if she's on the topic of nostalgia of high school or broken relationships of her past. Don't even get her jimmies rustled by saying, for example, Green Day are considered emo. Beyond those, though, she is a generally shy person, though she's taking steps to come out of her shell, and very confessional about her feelings.
  • History: WIP
  • Domain/Abilities: WIP
