The BGM continues to be a bit on the loud side at times, but otherwise excellent premiere.
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!I'm not quite clear what the lawsuit to get the pod kids back is supposed to accomplish. Until they can be safely removed from the pods, it's not like their families can take them home or talk to them or do anything different from what they're doing now.
How the hell did the "N" word slip past the censors?
I imagine it’s a context thing. Race is a big deal so the word is OK if it’s being used to make a point. Boston Public did something similar with an entire episode dedicated to how people viewed the word and its immense baggage.
I also hate to compare the two, but it can look a bit cheesy to say “Negroes” with the same level of anger while Luke Cage frequently drops n-bombs for context.

Re: the lawsuit, even if the green light babies were to wake up and be safely released from the pods it's pretty clear the government would not let them go.
The lawsuit is so that at least there's something trying to change that.
Plus as is they wouldn't even be allowed to see their family members in the pods. A lawsuit might change that too.

Also, as legal guardians they would have a say in the healthcare of their children, as well as a right to know what is being done and make decisions. If they're not being allowed that right then they have zero clue what's happening to their kids, and given how all this happened it's a scary position to be in
Aren't most of them dead or did I miss something?
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters. They're frozen in cryogenic pods, they're not dead.
Anissa and Jennifer have some of the best, most authentic scenes together.
Man, that black ASA guy is really trying hard to fill in Martin Proctor's role of the resident Hate Sink eh? What an ass.
Also, I was surprised to see Syonide die so early into the season.

And is it just me, or is Anissa really bad at staying faithful to girlfriends?
One Strip! One Strip! Its good for heroes to be believably flawed!
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.I don't quite get why Jefferson was mad at Anissa there at the end. Does he expect her to be either at home or by his side 24/7?
I think it was less that he was mad at Anissa and more that the stress of everything that was happening (having to step down as principal, having to fight a young woman who wasn't really evil) was just getting to him and he lashed out at Anissa.
Plus she was out of line with her grandstanding earlier.
It's a classic TV move with Anissa this episode. Jennifer points out shes taking things too seriously by solely focusing on the Thunder part of her life, so Anissa then goes too far in the other direction.
How was it out of line? It didn't look like there was anyone in danger anymore; they'd done their job. If the crowd wants to start applauding them, why not take a moment to accept it?
There's a difference between accepting applause and jumping up on a car and motioning for the crowd to keep it up.
Its a small step, but it certainly isn't in the right direction.
So, this last episode had one of the few times where Cops actually tried to de-escalate a situation instead of just opening fire. It didn't work, and Lightning had to step in, but at least they tried.
Though how much of it not working was due to her Green Light induced madness, and how much it was because they're white cops who are probably gonna shoot me anyway is hard to tell.
One Strip! One Strip! So is it safe to say Lala really is dead? He hasn't been seen nor mentioned so far.
Would be a totally pointless waste of his character, especially after they went through the trouble of bringing him back to life.
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! He was only brought back to life as part of Tobias' scheme, though. Which paid off.
Like, last season goes very well for Tobias, with the one obvious exception. La la was just a pawn in his game.
There are several episodes where Tobias is not present and La la is making moves. At the time, it seemed a bit strange but it came together well.
I think La la has served his narrative purpose and is now gone for good.
Except bringing Lala back didn't pay off. What Tobias ultimately used him for was a suicide bomber to try and kill Proctor, an attempt which failed and seems to have left Lala dead dead.
True.
But he got the briefcase, so I think it counts as a win. Plus Proctor died anyway.
And La La was gonna die, win lose or draw.
You know, after that crack way back in the very first episode, its about time this show featured some Parliament music.
Oh man, didn't realize all the DC shows were starting up again already.
