James Tucker and Michael Jelenic are writing this movie.

They were the showrunners for Batman: Brave and the Bold, so there's one more reason to get excited.

The Catwoman for this film is based on the Julie Newmar version (who played her in seasons 1 and 2' Earthe Kitt played her for season 3, and Lee Meriwether played her in the movie) and she's played by...Julie Newmar.

I have a hunch they'll have Jeff Glenn Bennet as the Joker again.

After being reminded of Brave and the Bold I do have to wonder if this film will maybe include a few slightly more serious elements. Nothing major of course (I mean that would essentially ruin the point of this movie), more like the BTB episode Chill of the Night for instance.

I also wonder if they'll include some references to the Batman '66 comics?

[up] [awesome][awesome][awesome]

About all I need to say, really. There's really only two things I didn't care for.

One: The fact that the "Tv Dinner" trap is actually in the movie. I really wanted that to be a separate deal for the teaser, mostly because I think it makes the teaser funnier and more unique than other trailers.

Two: So far it seems that the Joker doesn't have a penciled in mustache. I kinda miss it already. Who wouldn't at least smile if they saw that the animators drew the 'stache in?

On the OTHER hand:

Batman: You fiends! You will rue this day!

The Penguin: The only rue here is in the gravy! Weh heh heh heh!

and

Batman: Jaywalking is extremely hazardous.

Robin: Gosh yes, you're right Batman.

Batman: Quickly Robin! TO THE CROSSWALK!

This is just too awesome for me to get hung up over little nitpicks.

If this actually ends up better than The Killing Joke, I'm going to laugh.

The Adam West Batman is my childhood so I'm holy-hyped as fuck. Though the only returners are Adam West, Burt Ward and Julie Newmar. I know it's unfortunate that Yvonne Craig cannot reprise... but what happened to Joker (Cesar Romero)?

I also thought that with animation format, they will have more freedom for more direct fighting, while still accompanied with POW! BIFF! BAM! texts, avoiding a bit of Fight Scene Failure that might happen because of the old live action restrictions.

I didn't know that ANY of these actors were still alive and I'm so happy that a show I loved in my childhood is back, especially in this era of "humorless DC" movies.

I may be an adult now but I'm ready to put my usually nitpicking self on hold and just enjoy the cheese. [lol]

I'm looking forward to this show.

I personally never got the hatred for the Killing Joke film, it was pretty much exactly what I wanted from an adaption of the comic.

The actual Killing Joke segment seems to have been well received, it's just almost everybody hates the first Batgirl centered segment.

Yeah, a lot of Fanedits have just went about removing or reducing a lot of the Batgirl melodrama and the movie's way better for it.

This film will definitely be a fun watch. Its good to see some classic Batman and Robin action.

I too will laugh my ass off if this film is better received than The Killing Joke. Seriously, if we cut down on the Batgirl story and expand on scenes from the actual comic we would of have a great movie (or better yet just have the Killing Joke as the main short film to an anthology movie similar to that Superman/Shazam film).

[up] Said it before, the Killing Joke should have been paired up with another Joker story, preferably Going Sane, since both speak to the Joker's mental state and his psychological relationship with Batman. But we had to do something Barbara Gordon related because people were complaining about fridging.

It wouldn't have been that bad if the extra segment, ironically, hadn't made Barbara look even worse, incompetent and even more of a sex object. They could have just added any of the many comics stories where Babs actually looked and acted better without having sex with Batman under a gargoyle.

I was honestly expecting the first half of The Killing Joke to be about Batgirl investigating possible contingency plans made by the incarcerated Joker in the event that he escaped. Before she can relay her findings to Batman, she decides to take a break with her father just for a single night . . .

There will be a sequel coming out next year. Here's a sneak peek at the villain for it and the actor voicing him.

This movie really is turning into a true lost episode of Batman cause I can definitely see William Shatner guest starring as Two-Face if such an episode featuring the character was made.

I've heard that Harlan Ellison wrote a never-produced episode of the 60's Batman show that was supposed to have used Two-Face as the villain. Is this film supposed to be that script?

Saw it. Liked it well enough - and ye gods the choice of Big Bad was truly inspired - but the "real" climax and ending were kind of lame and underwhelming. Which is something the original '66 show was guilty of on many occasions, but that's one element I wouldn't have minded this movie being unfaithful to.

There are other small nitpicks to make (the earliest one - "mindless entertainment" isn't something I can see West!Batman in any age saying with a straight face. It sounds too cynical and 21st century for him), but I'll save those for a full-blown review.

I thought it was hilarious...perhaps a little bit too long (which sounds odd, since it actually isn't that long of a movie at all, but this kind of humour is overstaying its welcome fast), but I really enjoyed it. Though this is naturally only for fans of the series, others won't understand half of the references in it.
