Never claimed it did. But your argument was that the show was reluctant to acknowledge that terrible people procreate. Julian disproves that. Even the parents disprove that even if they are a bit more sympathetic than Julian.

Like I said, the biggest problem with the show is the writers and directors clearly don't care about the kids versus the parents.

Yeah, the show was at its best in the first episodes, in which the children interacted with the parents. As soon as it split the groups up and had large chunks of only the parents interacting with each other it got boring. Thing is, I don't believe that the parents are in any way a threat to the children (except Jonah), at least not on a "will deliberately do serious damage to you" level. And that is a huge problem.

They put out a false murder charge on them. In Los Angeles. They are not all white. That is straight up an attempt to get them killed.

[up][up]So we're forgetting that time that Victor tried to kill Chase?

He was abusive to the kid before that, so I doubt it was just the drug. If anything, the implication was that the drug was making him nicer and when it wore off he reverted back to his old ways.

The show makes a big point of how Victor is an abusive piece of shit whose wife could have been as brilliant a scientist as him if she weren't forced into submitting to his authority and who routinely mocked and harassed his own son. His first lines outright have him say "If you were afraid of me, you'd be making A's". Victor is the most outright evil of the parents because he's a genuine piece of shit to people, he just hides it once his son actually does something he approves of.

Sure, but the show portrays it in a way that he wouldn't actually kill his son deliberately unless he is first pumped with happy drugs and then falls deep from said trip. And I was actually unsure if his abusive tendencies were always present or a result of his brain tumour.

We see flashbacks to him abusing Chase when he's much younger.

The point is that I shouldn't even wonder about this. I should be sure that all of those parents or at least the majority would be ready to do terrible things to keep their children in line if necessary. And I don't get this sense from any of them.

The parents not wanting to kill their own children is consistent with the comic, though. They're all planning to ensure their own children survive the coming of the Gibborim, even if it means giving up their own spots among the saved.

[up] Sure, but other than the one which is portrayed as unstable, none of them seems to want to do anything else to truly put them under control either.

For much of the series they're unaware of the kids conspiring against them. And again, Victor was clearly abusive to Chase. The series ends with the kids being framed for murder by their own parents.

True, but it was implied to be done for their own good (at least in their parents' eyes). Geoffrey framed them because he wanted them to run away. They're safer from Jonah (and the rest of the parents, since the Wilders don't know they've turned on Jonah yet) that way.

I am actual not sure if Geoffrey was the one who framed them...the ending was a little bit confusing regarding who conspired with whom. Deliberately so.

Last we saw him he was hesitant to make a call because it would "change everything," and then next scene someone has framed the kids. Also, earlier in the episode he specifically said they couldn't call the cops because that would just make the kids think they were in trouble.

[up] In a show which loves to do misdirects (bad ones, mostly, but it does try to mislead the audience through clever editing multiple times), I won't jump to conclusions.

Okay, wait a second. This is totally off-topic, but I just had a thought.

There's something alive at the bottom of the hole. Something that Jonah believes will mean he no longer requires sacrifices. My first thought was that it was an alien (since Karolina's parents were aliens in the comics), but maybe that's not it. People were joking before that Jonah was competing with the Hand for the Substance, but what if Jonah has found a living dragon? An immortal creature sleeping beneath the earth that he can drain for life energy forever? After all, we know he has some way of getting energy without the boxes, since the boxes are only fifteen years old.

Furthermore, Molly got her powers from strange rocks that were near the creature. What if she got draconic strength and toughness? Maybe it's even some weird, lesser version of the Iron Fist.

.. Greater. Greater version of the Iron fist. The iron fist is coerced out of Kun-Lun the undying, while Molly got empowered by either accident or deliberate voluntary action, and she also has a lot more mojo than Rand does. If this is the thin foil hattery we are going with, then.. those rocks were a broken - and thus dying - dragons egg, and when Molly got mortally wounded in the explosion their souls merged. Thus the strength of a dragon, and also a dragons tendency to take naps. Because she basically *is* a dragon, and will eventually discover that aging does not work at all the same for her as it does for normal people.

And then the will of the dragon teleports Molly to an alternate dimension, and she is the one who eventually sits on the Iron Throne.

[up][up][up] Hm, good point. I was basically just assuming Molly was weaker because she doesn't glow as much, but that's hardly a good indicator. Danny got a gift from a dragon, Molly (maybe) is a dragon. Very different power levels.

I mean the Iron Fist kinda sucks. Molly's power can do more than Danny's dumb glowing fist and instead of taking forever to charge she just needs to sleep it off a bit.
