So the baby's a girl. And the new lady is creepy.

The new lady looks like she's one of the kid eaters.

So we have Mom and Sister Krohn; presumably there will be a third adult with some sort of "maiden" reference in the name.

Or Emma's the maiden!

Another interesting chapter. I wonder how sympathetic the adults will be in the end.

The Viz version didn't even try to hide the reference/meaning. They can her Sister Krone.

When those other two kids ran off for a second it lingered on Ray looking so that's probably going to come back later.

…My assumption is that the kids smart enough to successfully escape are swiftly recaptured by the demons and made into the new guardians of the farm. That would be horrible, but at least the current "Mom" seems to have a very good brain.

Also the radar doesn't track a transmitter but the children's bodily heat.

Brilliant move from Mom. If Rey though escaping with everyone was hard, what he'll say now that there's a frigging baby? You can't make a jailbreak with a baby in tow.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ray just says they don't know the baby so they shouldn't care. Obviously that won't fly with Emma, and by extension Ray, but it's probably the point he'll bring up.

These are two very simple but effective moves. And the fact that she did it in a way that keeps them from getting very far in their plans makes it more so. Although, now they can take another adult and a baby into account, instead of being completely blindsided.

I wonder when they'll inevitably find out they have less time than they thought.

No shit, I don't care how many people say babies are good cause they give you hope & shit but in reality there a gi-hugic fucking liability.

Mama's keeping things a secret from her superiors for now. I think there's likely more to it than what she's said for why.

Also, the adults seem to be recruited from the kids who kept getting perfect scores.

Makes things more interesting because it means that Emma and company are fighting against geniuses who've had far more time to polish their skills and cunning, not to mention their obvious information advantage.

Man. I wish I could say it's one step in, two steps back.

But they can't even manage the one step in.

It's still early days, the kids are still figuring things out and trying to plan ahead. That being said, they do currently have something to go on - the adults are the only way to get an idea of what the outside world is like, and Carol is their best shot at figuring out where exactly the tracking chips are located in their bodies.
