"You're a pain to deal with."

"I get that a lot."

[lol]

I'm thinking the hat demon is going to kill those kids to piss Emma off, so she becomes more interesting prey.

I wonder, what is the significance of the demon masks? Is it a religious thing?

^I think it was stated before its pretty much protective gear. Though I suppose it has become sort of fashion statement since not all of them have masks that cover middle eye [lol]

Yikes, Lewis knows how humans shonen heroes work. If what is implied really happens, that would be incredibly dark for a Jump series… Still expecting a Big Damn Heroes from Ray and Noname.

You know… I think this series is doing something very important: proving that a non-romance shonen series can be popular even with a female protagonist. If others could follow suit, that would really be a step forward for the genre.

While we're discussing Norman, does anybody want to reply to my theory that Leslie is in fact Norman's biological father? He may be dead by now, but they were bound to have gotten some sperm out of him first. After all, they do need some males for breeding stock, at least briefly.

That seems plausible, but I'm not sure it would add much to the story − at least on Ray's side. Whether his biological dad was his mom's crush is pretty irrelevant. It could be an interesting addition to Izabella's backstory though, to an extent.

Surprised they didnt figure out before this point that its the eye. Probably doesn't help that the man had Emma and Ray learn the hard way.

[up]They never fought the wild unintelligent demons. The ones who don't wear masks to protect their weak point.

I actually wonder if they need to have the fatal eye uncovered to see anything…

Lots of new faces to remember in this chap. The casting is getting a bit overcrowded, considering most of the Grace Field kids are still glorified background characters at this point. I hope these will have some individual focus.

The variety of designs and almost even gender ratio is quite remarkable though.

Damn, that bouncer kid is huge. If I were a demon I'd eat that kid. Never mind the pipsqueaks.

Anyone get the impression Lucas has been lying to the Grand Valley group about the demons being unkillable? I thought his Grace Field gang had figured out how to kill them. Maybe it is to protect them and build up their numbers or something like that because I don't think he has sinister intentions. Yet.

He's not from Grace Field.

And the Nameless Man knows how to kill them, that doesn't necessarily mean anyone else from his group found out how to do so.

Chapie out… They might finally have reached Minerva's location… if their princess isn't in yet another castle.

Still, thanks a bunch for telling the kids to meet you in the most unsafe place in the world, Minerva. >.>

Why is Lucas not calling his friend by his name? Feels forced.

So the entire Goldy Pond complex completely with the forest is underground? Got to hand to demons, they got some engineering chops. Also, really lucky that they didn't dug deep enough to find Minerva secret corridor.

[up]Not sure if the Goldy Pond existed when he made the whole thing.

Maybe it's the other way around. Demons, feral and otherwise, noticed kids escaping farms congregated in that area and everything else stemmed from that over time.
