Which might have something to do with the thing which Krone left behind and which Norman found. <curiosity intensifies>
Also, Emma has become a fantastic actress in a very short amount of time. Good for her. What will Isabella's next move be, hmmm?
New chapter just popped up. we see how they got all the kids in on this and we may soon see just what the deal is with Phil.
We thought Phil was Mama's mole but he was actually Emma and Norman's all along.
...Or not? I mean, the kid's fishy, I rather see him as a wild card.
I don't think Emma would leave Phil behind. I think he's actually the spy for higher-ups.
I was actually playing that for humor, but forgot the relevant pothole. Ah well.
That was my thought when seeing Phil pop up on that last page too.
Chap 35 out. The escape starts! …without the toddlers. But holy crap, Phil is pretty advanced. ô.Ô Waiting a year or two before coming back for the young ones definitely seems like the best plan. And by that I mean "the least batshit crazy plan".
We have a brief shot of young Isabella too.
…Welp, there's no need for it anymore.

After all the buildup about Phil we finally find out that he's just a particularly bright kid who happened to be in suspicious places. Huh, not what I was expecting.
Honestly, I was never particularly suspicious of Phil before, but I find it a bit sketchy that not only did he volunteer to stay behind immediately, but he also didn't seem to put any effort into stalling Isabella.
I mean, what could he do in this situation to stall her?
@ Lyendith Yay for lucky guesses.
Yup, he did the best he could in that situation.
Curious to see how Emma and Ray will handle what's up next. Time for Norman ex machina?
Mama made a grave mistake in not planting Emma's tracker in her ahoge.
That surprise birthday party is effed up, just the way we like it.

Oh damn, I hadn't noticed the omake.
Bittersweetness in all its glory.
36 is out. It might be my favorite chapter so far. Again. Yep, they got you good, Mama.
Holy shit, the escape arc was intense. I can't wait to see what comes next.
Chapter out: The arc concludes.
Holy cow, Ray was Isabella son after all! I kind of suspected that but still!
Interesting perspective shift on Isabella, now that she's been defeated. Until now, she was a diabolical, almost omniscient evil presence constantly looming above the kids and seemingly holding all the cards. Now we see her how she really was - just another victim of the monstrous system, someone who's spirit got utterly broken. The true evil is something much bigger and more insidious.
It also seemed to imply she wasn't going to let the higher ups know the kids had passed the wall, just let them (eventually) work it out for themselves.

At this point She got nothing more to lose, and the kids accomplished what she though impossible so she might as well help them out. Deep down she hates the whole system after all.
If nothing else, Isabella is graceful in defeat. Like Krone, she takes it in stride and decides to stick it to the system. At least she will die knowing that her son managed to escape to the outside world.
I'm so excited for what's next. For what's out there.
I wonder if this will be a trend, adult humans opposing the children until it becomes clear that, yes, they can do it
Huh, this chapter almost seems designed as the stopping point for the first season of the anime. Either way, I hope they don't kill Isabella off just yet. (Also, over/under on Leslie somehow being alive?)
I'd guess Leslie's alive- probably for the same in-universe reason Norman's alive, whatever that may be.
But yeah, here we have Isabella going 'Welp, at this point I'm screwed no matter what happens, so I might as well help out the kids I raised and send a middle finger to the assholes.
Also goddamn Ray having memories from inside the Womb somehow. What is even his deal.
So that was pretty good. This series does "darkly uplifting" well, if that makes sense.
But you know, this means they actually explained the situation to all of them, and got them to accept it. That might be the biggest feat here.
