I think it works better without, unless someone's got a witty Mermaid Problem joke in store.

So... the trope is "undersea dweller who looks like a human."
Take a gander, and I think the problems are evident. The character in question does not look human, and has no indication of being an undersea dweller (other than the name Aquana). If anything, I'd think she's in space.
Cliche to begin with, but this image of Aquaman◊ would work well. He's underwater, he's chilling on a throne so he's clearly not diving down for a second, and he looks human. But a more obscure example might be nicer.
