I tried looking a trope like this, but could find nothing but entries for the trope Getting Crap Past the Radar. I mean like how, especially in video games, radars can be programmed to pick up very small and specific things, like specific power-ups or weapons, or a very specific type of material in general. It's in movies sometimes too, and from what I've read, radars just don't work that way, they aren't that precise and certainly can't be programmed to find something very specific without getting fooled by other things. Like why can it pick up a weapon and never be tricked by, say, a piece of scrap metal?

I dunno, maybe a trope called Hollywood Radars, Video Game Radars, or Radars Do Not Work That Way? Unless there is already a trope that is like this, which is why I am asking.
