The War of Covenant - a Divine war between Gods to create a new world

Every 20,000 years, the Gods of the Spiritual Worlds gather together by the calling of the Temple of God from Jehovah to prepare a war between 100 Gods chosen by Jehovah to fight on to the Material World in order to ascend the Throne of God which would allow them to be granted a wish to alter their world to their own vision.

Gods like Aradia, Baldur, Ahriman, Anubis, Baal, Ormazd, Hades, Agni and other Gods find humans to create a Covenant between them so that the Spiritual and Material realms shall be together. The purpose of the covenant is to link them to the Material world in order the Gods to fight the other Gods.

Like in The Order Of The Stick?

Uh, we are trying to build and expand this world idea about a divine war.

In what direction? Percy Jackson? The Order of the Stick? MCU Thor?

And what's keeping these gods from just building their own separate worlds?

In my own own way. This is not original, the Gods are just like their mythological counterparts with some Artistic License. A bit in the style of Percy Jackson, MCU Thor and Shin Megami Tensei.

The reason why the Gods are not allowed to create their own world because it is forbidden by Jehovah, Emperor of the Gods and Lord of the Material and the Spiritual World, who fears that once the Gods have the power to create their own worlds, his vision of order would be ruined.

Also, when a God is defeated by another God, they will die and their Divine Essence will be absorbed by a God who defeated them and gain the powers of the God who was defeated and it will cause devastating consequences like tsunamis and floods if a sea God dies.

The War of Covenant is actually a apocalyptic cyclic war between 100 Gods to create a new world in their own wishes.

Why would Jehovah do that? Hez notoriously jealous; why would he share power in this way?

Jehovah is not overzealous, he is trying to be fair. Let's continue building and expanding the world.

How much artistic license are u planning to take? Jehovahz jealousy is almost central to who he is, he even describes HIMSELF as jealous; how different are u going to make these Gods? I ask bcuz im trying to figure out how ur going to have Jehovah be vincible in the first place

Am i to assume that Jehovah will not be omnipotent etc in your work? If not, what r the limits of his power?

Jehovah watches over the War of Covenant, he has unlimited powers over the spiritual and material worlds because he and the Gods on the Throne of God are Creators.

So how culd a competitor ever hope to defeat him?

There must be only one winner of the War of Covenant. The rules say no coalitions between Gods.
