Funny you should mention that, because during Planet Hulk, there was a story where it was shown that there was nothing to stop the Hulk villains while the Hulk was exiled.

Seriously? Nothing could stop them? Not even other superheroes?

Have you read the Hulk books? These guys aren't exactly push overs and most heroes don't frequent the areas Banner/Hulk usually spent time in.

At least this time Cho is around.

@Tobias Drake: But the Totally Awesome Hulk book showed that Banner couldn't Hulk anymore, thanks to the fact that Cho took his powers.

Even the following issue which had Cho dealing with Banner's death had them again stating he was completely cured and Carol doesn't dispute it either.

And besides, before he was cured, the current Hulk personality was one of the smart ones. So he wasn't a danger to anyone anyway.

There's a reason why Banner was always distrustful of the Avengers for years.

Yeah. That's my point. "His eyes flashed green" is as valid of a point as "He reached for that gun he didn't have."

Most Marvel heroes aren't pushovers either. And heroes cross into each others territory all the time.

Yes, yes, but when no one else is fighting the leader when he's sending he humanoid armies against The Hulk. Nobody is fighting the Abomination when he's looking for a rematch against The Hulk. The galaxy is safe from Galaxy Master so long as it has a Hulk to think about.

Sure, Hercules has beaten the Abomination before, but you see his step mother's kind of mad today so Abomination will have to wait. The Fantastic Four could stop The Leader but Dr. Doom is trying to kill Reed again, or ruin his marriage, or take his powers, or abduct his children, so they'll just have to put leader on their "to do" list. Thor could smash Galaxy Master just as well but a mob of trolls are trespassing in Vanaheim so it'll have to wait. And Ironman did stop the Ufoes, so really, what are you complaining about? It's not his fault all those pesky non registered superheroes are keeping him from nabbing all the rest of the villains.

But back on topic, it was a good idea, except for the part about not talking it over with him. Getting rid of the rage monster that wants to be left alone? Good. Skipping a precaution to assure the monster will not be angry about it? Bad. Not letting him know your intentions so that he thinks you sent a bomb with him that killed off billions of people and left an entire world uninhabitable? Very bad.

Eh, I've never liked the logic of, "Without hero X, no one in the entire universe could ever stop that hero's villains! Only SPIDER-MAN can defeat Doc Ock! Nobody but the Fantastic Four could ever match Doom! The universe would be powerless to stop Loki if Thor wasn't there!"

There's lots of heroes in the world and yes, they could handle the Hulk's villains. God knows they handle the Hulk himself time and again.

Is there some reason this couldn't be brought up in a work-specific or series-specific thread?
