I don't think Seiko and Ruruka talking their feelings out would have magically fixed Ruruka's self-esteem. They were incompatible from the start.

Only cause Ruruka was too arrogant to ever make sugar free sweets.

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.

You would think a SHSL Confectioner and a SHSL Pharmacist could work together to figure out some type of candy that wouldn't kill her.

Does anyone else think it's weird that Chisa seems to have zero affection for her reserve course students? With the whole, "Ultimate students are no better than normal plebes, we swear, honest!" narrative that Despair has, it seems odd that she likes her Ultimate students so much more than her other ones.

They just glanced over her time with the Reserve Course for the more plot-important stuff. It is out of character though.

Chisa is the type of person that pulls knives on people to motivate them. Given how quirky she is and how normal the people there are, she probably had an incredibly awkward time.

It just doesn't feel like a Side:Future episode without Sakakura trying to beat the shit out of someone.

Gotta love Togami's reaction to all of this. "You're trapped in another mutual killing game where half the people are already dead? *sips tea* Huh..."

RIP last remaining character design that I really liked. Now one-hit-point Asahina and ultimate despair girl MonaMiaya are the last line of defense against Munakata and Sakakura, which kinda makes me think that one of the latter are going to face-turn or get offed.

Man, Izayoi, Ryouta, and Kizakura feel like really pointless characters so far. I'm hoping Ryouta is the mastermind so there's at least something more to him.

Also, seeing Komaru and Co. was nice. Monaka continues to be the Meme Queen meanwhile.

Today's thread, with a little bit of hatred after the livetweeting part.

I'm extremely worried about how Hinata's plotline can potentially ruin me.

On the subject of Ruruka and Izayoi: the popular theory going around is that she is the one who killed him by force-feeding him her candy. There is blood under one of his eyes and some white powder on Kirigiri's glove after she touched him, which could be makeup to cover the facial deformity. In addition, the knife he was stabbed with was taken out of Seiko's body, suggesting he wasn't killed by the murderer. Plus, Ruruka was clearly trying to get Kirigiri and co. out of the room before she could investigate his body.

Well, this definitely took a turn for the worse. Also, why in Eternia was Munakata stabbing Yukizome's corpse?

Ha ha ha. What a story, Mark.

[up] Severing his ties with idealism. Yukizome was keeping him and Sakakura above the abyss. No wonder the killer went after her first. She could have made bridges between the factions.

About her in the reserve course, her conflict may have been with the students or with academy staff as she dived in the dephts of corruption. Or both. Either way she discovered stuff. Sad that we didn't have time for the reserve classes and investigations. We already have a bazillion chars and we are in the middle of it, alreadysad

I felt very sad for the three radicals under the sakura flowers. Even Sakakura looked nice and relaxed there.

It's why I think Sakakura might be the attacker. Killing people that he feels would get in Munakata's way. (The reason he does not attack Makoto and his allies while they are asleep is because him and Munakata plan to kill them anyway, so he should kill people during their sleep that could actually give them problems.)

Future Episode 6: Monaca freaking out when she thought Asahina had figured her out was hilarious.

Kinda obvious that Izayoi got offed by Ruruka. Probably fed him candy, the insecure jerk.

And then Togami! Komaru! Fukawa! JABBERWOCK ISLAND! Yessssss.

What's the viewing order for this? I'm told they air concurrently. Do you watch Future arc first, or Despair arc? Then you just keep alternating, one Future, one Despair, so on so forth?

Despair Episode 6: The charmingly crazy Junko has not just one, but two fateful encounters!

... seriously, what's up with the second one?

Also apparently Junko has super analysis. I've heard this was from DR0?

P.S. Poor Chiaki.

Everyone is trapped in Ryouta's anime because he's the mastermind.

And yes, that ability is indeed from DR 0.

THE FUTURE 6:

Yes, it will be a happy ending. No, not everyone will be around to see it. Unless that's what you're implying, Hagakure...?

Ah, it's that time again. The Double Kill Hour! Izayoi's out too, huh? Now all the darkhorses(according to the YMMV page) are dead. Way to pick your targets, writers. I don't think Ruruka killed him, why would she. She's not that far-gone, is she?

Munakata bids farewell to any remnants of his halcyon days.

Now, I know it's Monaca typing those words that Usami said to cheer Makoto up, but that's not gonna stop me from saying "Keep your friendship to yourself, you useless rabbit!". Hmph.

Makoto's now thinking outside of the "Classroom Trials" box. The way out is that secret door Izayoi found, I bet.

Looks like Komaru and Touko are doing well.smile And it's Monaca Hunting Time.

And it looks like the Remnants of Despair are gonna burn some muscle.

THE DESPAIR 6:

The OP changed colour. Preparations for DESPAIR nears completion...

Of course it was a love triangle. But Juzo never had a prayer. ...Kinda feel bad for him, really.

Torture Curry! Mmmm, it's despair-inducingly delish!

So Izuru fell to despair because he was bored. An Izuru-like thing to do, in all honesty.

...Ryouta's a fateful encounter? So...could he be a sleeper agent?

I've heard that a common fan theory (back when the first game was the only thing around) was that Junko's "Ultimate Fashion Diva" talent granted her straight-up prediction and/or hypnosis as side-effects, because she would have needed to anticipate fashion trends and charm people on an almost supernatural level in order to be the "Ultimate" in the industry. Of course, this is giving the concept of Ultimate/SHSL talents a little more credit than the narrative does; on the other hand, some talents are inherently supernatural.

DR 0 simply flipped the script, implying Ultimate Analysis was the tool for Junko to get her reputation as a fashion model.

I like the way the latest Despair episode also tied that talent into Junko's irrational, insane, self-contradictory mindset. The primary side-effect of the Analyst talent seems to be mind-numbing boredom from understanding everything and anticipating every surprise; the only way to ignore the talent and mitigate the boredom would be to defy logic itself, since that's all her talent really is. And Junko's despair schtick is about as illogical as it gets.

I haven't read DR 0 through myself, but I find it interesting that the Ultimate Analyst in that novel has amnesia and is a mostly normal person—because she has amnesia and is constantly forgetting things, and therefore can be surprised.

Yeah, that connection between her analysis and despair is there since /Zero. This episode was just a summed up version of her mentality they put there so that /Zero wouldn't become a required reading. Really nice of them to do that, considering how the novel is a little bit unaccessible in the West. Although, I don't know how they will keep that up considering the events the anime is supposed to cover next.

Btw, Nanami's death countdown: 5 days.

Also, Killer Killer chapter 6 is already uploaded. Sorry for releasing it over 10 days late.
