Aria - Path to Cliff (Exploding Villain Team)

"Alright people, we're getting close," Aria said to the group, setting down the crate of dynamite and releasing it from her biotic field. "Everyone remember the plan. Grab a bundle of explosives and get to your positions."

Sousuke - A Tree Near Ranma's Log Trap

Sousuke remained silent as he waited in the second-lowest set of branches in a tree, his trusty Dragunov SVU in his hands as he kept an eye out through the scope.

Assault Group

-Wulfrik breathes in deeply. Despite having despoiled countless villages before, this one will hold special significance. Today, he will give to the gods a sacrifice like they have never seen before. Today he will hear them again, their will shall once more be made clear. Today his sword will bite deep into the simpletons who refuse Chaos, and show them their folly and their weakness along with the color of their innards.-

-The Norscan draws his sword, storing the stolen holy book in the dangling skull of a long-dead orc warrior, muttering his prayer of thanks for the upcoming battle, assigning to each god their rightful offering.-

Clem — finally, battle!

The Grineer spent the rest of yesterday wandering around, confused. His trigger fingers itched and he wanted to fight already; wasn’t this some sort of context? Finally he found himself some building to lean against and sleep, oblivious to the fact that he was completely vulnerable alone and asleep.
The next morning found Clem already up and about; he was walking around town aimlessly till he encountered Superman and Graham. “Grakata,”note , he told Superman. “Clem-Clem.”note

Tira (Path outside town)-Suckers

Tira had been plotting for the past 15 minutes. She suspected that the heroes probably had something planned for them, some sort of trap. What form it would take and where was the quesion. She had sent her raven to try to locate it, but he had yet to report back. So she had been trying to figure out how to talk some idiot in her group into taking the lead enough to set off any traps the enemy might have had. The cultist who was so eager to murder the catholic priest had seemed the best bet, until someone else just up and did it for her. She held up her hand to signal the rest of the group to slow down and let him go as she fell back to speak to them.

Let him go. This is good. If he's stupid enough to charge forward without even a word of prompting, then he's too stupid to be that useful an asset anyway, and he might set off any traps these assholes have set for us and might flush out a couple of these people.

Raiden (Cliffside, next to waterfall)-Seriously? You couldn't have eaten an hour ago?

The two women would hear a chuckle from behind them as Raiden finished climbing the cliffside and hopped onto the cliff. "You remind me of someone else I know." He said to Menardi as he walked forward. "No matter what were were doing, how far across the world we went, she always somehow found the time to sample the local cuisine so she could gush about it later, and even if she hadn't been somewhere, she'd always have random trivia facts about the food ready."

He shook his head at the memories before he moved on. "Anyway. This is a good scouting location, nice view of the area. But....er, aren't you two forgetting something? Where's your weapons? The enemy could be here any minute. Unless you're hiding a sniper rifle under a rock, I think you might be underequiped for this mission."

Townspeople-Church

Superman and Grahams speech was met with favorable reception by the townspeople, who clapped and cheered at it. Anges then started sending the women and children into the church before walking up to Superman.

"That was a nice speech and all, and I'll admit, maybe I was a little hasty in judging all of you based on the actions of one or two of you. But look, we don't all wanna sit on the sidelines while you do all the heavy lifting. This is our town, we should be around to defend it too. We got some guns, and we're ready to gun these varmints down. Just say the word."

Master Chief- With Ranma's ambush group

Master Chief stood in the cover of the trees along with the others, hiding along with them with his assault rifle ready, waiting for any incoming attack from the enemy so they could spring the trap.

He wont let some bloodthirsty maniacs kill the innocent population of this town in no way.

Reaper- With Tira's Group

Reaper chuckled at Tira's explanation, true, knowing the environments of this forest, and his former knowledge of creating traps and ambushes due to his former days as the leader of Blackwatch, it would be fairly obvious that the goody two shoes would try to take them by surprise in here.

A cannon fodder to take the heat from them will help ease this. Reaper stood waiting with his shotguns unholstered, his Hellfire Shotguns ready to reap what he would sow.

Menardi - Cliff Notes

Menardi noticed the odd look Raiden gave her pie, and demonstratively took another big bite of sweet apple pastry as he talked about his acquaintance. It had been a while she had seen such advanced cyborgization, and she was curious to see how the newcomer would fare in battle. After licking the crumbs off her hand, she patted the cliff with a smug smile as answer to his answer.

"This mountain is my weapon," she said boastingly. "And so is the waterfall behind you, and the air you breathe."

The hook sword and swordbreaker in her belt were just in case.

Chun-Li, Eden's Gate Cliffs

"Crepes are not that difficult to make," Chun-Li explained to Menardi, before Raiden showed up to question how prepared the two of them were for the incoming battle. The guy looked like he replaced the majority of his body with cybernetics, and Chun-Li smirked at him, knowing her exact answer.

"My body and my ki are my weapons," Chun-Li replied to the cybernetic soldier. "With your own enhancements, you should understand how powerful one's own body can be."

However, Chun-Li did appear to have a revolver she had claimed holstered on her person just in case. She was, after all, a good shot despite being a martial artist.

Raiden (Cliffside)-The power of Zen

"Sure." Raiden said, clearly skeptical. "I mean, all this zen sounding stuff sounds cool. But come on guys. Be real here." Raiden suppressed a chuckle at telling VR constructs to "Be real".

"I mean, that sword isn't even a HF blade. it might do something to a normal human, but if they have any cyborgs, you might as well be slapping them with a wet noodle. And that revolver won't do anything at all. I get where you're trying to come from with the whole "My body is my weapon" business, but that's true for me because my body is made of CNT muscle fibers that make it a hell of a lot stronger then anything a normal human could do. If you tried to punch a cyborg, you'd break your hand. At best."

It might become clear to the two women that Raiden had not quite picked up on the whole "magic is real" thing yet.

Yumil - Eden's Gate

Yumil flipped through the Book of Prophecy nervously. Everyone's records were safely ensconced within the Book, so even if they died now, they could return as part of his new world one day. But still... They didn't deserve to die at all, if it could be helped. Especially since he didn't know how long it was going to be until the birth of his new world.

In other words, it meant very little that he'd recorded them. Anything could happen in the indeterminate length of time between now and the birth of his new world.

Yumil sat cross-legged near the church. In one hand, a cutlass imbued with the power of ice. In the other, the Book of Prophecy. When the time came, he'd protect the people of this town.

Quintet - Eden's Gate (Cliffside)

Quintet looked down on the town from above. It had been a little difficult, evading the eyes of the towns ever-watchful guardians, but he had, during the night, managed to find an alcove in the cliffside where he wasn't likely to be hassled. One of the perks of arriving early. He'd certainly never have gotten away with it now, with that - what was it again, Menardi? - person keeping a close watch.

Camouflage helped, too. He'd swapped to his battle body in preparation for the upcoming... well, battle, and he'd donned the colours of the Pharaoh Shot to better blend in with his surroundings - making it even harder to spot him as he surveilled his foes. So long as no one got to close... he was practically invisible to the naked eye. At this distance, at least.

Of course, he had no intention of staying that way. This was all just a show. He'd be remiss to not engage in theatrics and showmanship.

.. But he could afford to give his allies a little while longer to arrive.

Suika, Ringing The Alurum Bell Above The Church
Lounging on her back and scanning the horizon, Suika couldn't see much of anything in these conditions. That, and her conditions. She was drunk enough so that her vision was blurred, rendering what intel she could gather useless. I mean, she had been drunk for some thousands of years, so she was used to staring at things like this, but it still could've gone better.

The oni sighed, because this wasn't terribly exciting either. She laid back, and planned on taking another nap in mid-air, before she noticed that one of those groups of blurry dots was shaking more than the others.

Rubbing her eyes, and blocking out the sunrise with her hand, she could see that something was indeed moving in their direction! She didn't waste any time, and bolted back down to the ground as she shouted "THEY'RE HERE!"

Considering who was doing the shouting, it came out especially loud, echoing across the town. Her heart was filled with excitement, and a little pensiveness about the terrible things that could happen to these random humans (but mostly excitement) as she started yelling at the group below her. "Group of people, moving towards us, from the cliffs! I can't tell how many, or who, but they're making good time! They'll be here any minute!"

Path to the Cliffside

"Yeah yeah," Kamuz said to Aria as he picked up four handfuls of this "die-no-mite" from the crate and headed up the paths to the cliffside. At first he was going to argue against the blue lady about using the red sticks, but she explained they red sticks are actually tubed bombs. The bandit had to admit, those might prove very effective against the gnats in the village below, more so than boulders. Still though, the demon planned on chucking down at least one boulder than, just for the sake of it -

He stopped in his track when he looked up, and......something flying in the sky.

Could it be......? No, it cannot be. No way any of those heroes could fly. Must be seeing things -

The thing in the sky started yelling.

Kamuz, whom had been in front of the group, immediately stumbled as he turned around back to the other villains. "Somebody already spotted us!" he whispered loudly to Aria. "What do we do?! We completely lost our element of surprise, and now the ants are going to expect us!!"

Outside the Church

On the day the battle was to occur, Gemini started walking around the general area. She wasn't quite sure where to go, considering it was always Shinjiro who provided the leadership and guidance to help the Star Division know what to do.

She was in the general area outside the Church, near Agnes, Graham, and Superman, when Suika made her announcement.

Gemini was instantly alerted, and reached for her sword's hilt.

"So, anyone have a plan on how to proceed?"

Menardi - Cliffhanger Start

Menardi was about to show Raiden just how "real" she could get when the sound of the alarm rang out. She grinned with excitement, wolfing down the last of the pie and teleported up into the sky to get a look at what Suika had spotted. Scanning the area, she never would have seen anything hadn't Suika told what to look for and where. Unfortunately, the incoming whatever-they-were were out of range of her Psynergy. And getting closer might lead to her walking into an ambush or overextending. Instead, she floated back down her two allies by the cliffside.

"We've got a small group of something in that direction," Menardi indicated with her hand. "Too far away to see clearly or engage safely yet. But if they get closer, I can attack from a long range and create an opening for you two close-range attackers to flank them."

Teppei, Goblin Form, Eden's Gate Ambush Group

Teppei opened his mouth to say ask the girl about where he would even get bombs, and stopped as he processed what else she had said. His mouth snapped shut and his eyes widened. Why hadn't he thought of the fact that they might be facing the other group?! Stupid! These weren't just going to be ordinary people, he'd be fighting the villains. His expression darkened as he thought about the type of people they were, and just what they'd do to the people that lived in the town. He looked at the red-headed girl. "I don't know how to do that. Can you show me?"

Then, he turned to the magical girl(Which was still awesome) and grinned when a group of sharp tree sprouted up out of nowhere. "Those are perfect!"

Come morning, and with the bobby-trapped wall built and ready thanks to everyone's efforts, Teppei set himself up with his rifle to watch the path ahead for movement. He'd spent the night cutting and carving the trees into sharp point, before impaling them in the ground, and had only caught a quick nap against the side of it just before the sun had started to rise.

Movement on the path caught his attention, and he sucked in a sudden breath. Holding his rifle steady, he could make out a group of distant figures heading his way.

"I see something. A group of people on the path." He hissed out, just loud enough for anyone nearby to hear.

Raiden (Cliff)-A wild exclamation point appears!

Raiden drew his blade, distracted for the moment from questions like "How the hell did you do that?" and "How exactly are you going to attack from long range with a sword?" As he did so, his visor snapped over his face, activating Raiden's AR vision. Right now, whatever enemy was coming was out of range of his sensors. But as he swept his gaze over the area, he did pick up another massive heat source. He dropped into a defensive stance as he looked in the direction of Quintet.

"There's someone else here, hiding over there!" Raiden said as he motioned in the proper direction with his head.

Graham

Though nobody could see it, the bandaged man smiled. "I was hoping you would say that." He admitted before nodding. "Every arm helps, Miss Woods. Just keep in mind, some of those will need more than a couple of bullets to put down."

Suika's announcement had his attention. So this was it, then: the moment of confrontation. "Some of us will have to remain here in case one of those devils sneaks past." He muttered. "We should be prepared for everything."

Solidus Snake - Cliff Approach

"We move," said Solidus, taking a generous bundle under his arm. "Now."

As he broke away and went for his position, footing much easier to find now the cliffs had evened out into a scrub-strewn plateau, the game of mental arithmetic continued. Tira and her band of merry goons couldn't be counted on for anything resembling discipline; somebody was going to take that alarm as their starting signal, run into a field of traps, or worse, fill up their target area with friendly bodies.

There was no longer a gun to jump, so he didn't. His position was by the mouth of the waterfall, where the scrub gave way to dried-out plates of algae and the plateu split down the middle in a shallow valley. There was more cover up here, dislodged boulders or the occasional enterprising shrub, but no time for it to matter.

But something stopped him in the final leg, barely audible above the crashing white noise, but unmistakable all the same - reflexively he eased behind a green-encrusted boulder, breaking a line of sight that didn't exist yet. He frowned for a second, beading the sweat on his forehead, before shrugging and bringing up the only entry in his codec.

"They've got people up here, T'loak,"' he whispered, urgent and low, " somewhere by the waterfall. No visual, just voices. Sounds like two, maybe three. Still clear on the target. Be ready to reinforce. Over."

Carefully, peaking around the boulder at nothing at all on general principle, he set his dynamite out on the ground - nine in all. More than enough for a regular assault, but he'd be throwing blind. No ranging, no confirmation. The wind seemed steady enough, at least.

He picked out three, priming Aria's triggers with a flick of his thumb, and switched his exoskeleton into operational mode. There was taut creaking as the artificial muscles woke up and filled with counterfeit blood, an uncomfortably smothering feeling that always put him in mind of wearing a second body, but it was buried under the rush of water. Two targets in range, at least by his own estimates, the bar and the church. In this part of the world, the difference was academic.

Solidus pulled back, made some hasty guesswork, and punted the three sticks overarm - they scattered in the air, sailing down over the edge of the plateu and out of sight. There was a moment of silence as they rained down, before the air split into three overlapping thunderclaps and a thin mist riverwater sprayed up over the edge of the waterfall.

He had no idea what he'd hit, but it was one hell of a distraction.

Edens Gate-Bombs

One thrown bomb missed the target of the Church, and blew up near a burned down house, doing effectively nothing

Another went short and landed in the bottom of the waterfall, sending up a massive amount of water into the air but otherwise also doing nothing.

The third had a bit more luck, as it struck the back of the bar. Luckly, the bar itself was not completely destroyed due to it being a glancing hit. But a good majority of the bar's stock was now gone.

Anges-Church

Anges nodded. "I already thought about that, a few boys are staying behind to defend the church, and the pastor might not look like much, but there's a reason he's still alive. So-"

It was at this point the bombs hit. Left with no way to reach the attackers, Anges turned to her 3 men.

"Take cover!"

At this point they ran back to the church wall to do as ordered.

Sousuke - Ranma's Traps

Sousuke remained absolutely quiet and stationary as a lone opponent made his way forwards. There would be no point to giving away his position, or anyone's presence, before the martial artist could trigger the log trap on the largest approaching group.

Aria - Waterfall Assault

"Alright, move! Go go go! Fucking move it!" Aria yelled at everyone else, before dropping it to a more conversational level. "I don't see any fires yet. Now would be a good time for you to burn those fucking logs and throw that shit down!" She pointed especially at Kamuz, who seemed to be the one who had been the strongest proponent of the 'lift up really heavy stuff and chuck it over' part of the plan.

She lifted up a bundle of the dynamite in a biotic grip, and then rapidly accelerated it so that it was flying towards the church at high velocity.

Menardi - Cliff

Just as Menardi was turning around to look towards where Raiden was pointing, something sailed over her. And before she could figure out whether to shoot it out of the sky or not, the explosives Solidus had thrown exploded against the structures below. Menardi cursed. They had covered that distance much faster than she had anticipated.

When the next series of thrown explosives was imcoming, however, she was ready. A powerful gale stirred into being, blowing across the clifftop. It was more than strong enough to pick up the incoming sticks of dynamite and flinging them back towards Aria's group.

When Suika and the others spotted something coming towards them, she readied herself for battle with the Villains of the other team. Aria - Waterfall Assault

Aria casually caught the bundle of dynamite she had thrown earlier in a biotic field after it got blown back by what appeared to be some sort of wind magician. Due to the electronic blasting caps she had fabricated earlier for them, she wasn't worried about it detonating unless she wanted it to. She was almost grateful, in a sense, because they only had a limited quantity of dynamite and the longer they dragged out their bombardment of the town, the more time they bought for the reinforcements from the north to storm in.

"Hey bitch, suck a fucking quad!" she shouted back down, throwing the dynamite back down, except this time accenting it with a lengthy burst of covering fire from her SMG that rained down at Menardi.

Superman-Church

“Thank you for your words. What these people needed the most is hope. That we are here for them”—He put his hand over Graham’s shoulder “You did good,” he gave a faint smile to him.

Then there was Agnes spirit of fighting.

“I don’t want you to get hurt. I want you to be safe. ” He told Agnes with looking down concern in his eyes. A part of him wanted them to hide. But he could see in their eyes of these people that they would never yield from the bullies that threatened their homes. He knew the heroes wouldn’t stay forever.

“You remind me of a friend of mine. At first nobody though much of him because he was just a man with no special powers. But he always saved the world; he always defeated people more powerful than him” Superman commented. “Except he did have a power: He never have up. He was one with the darkness. But the darkness never consumed him. ”

“I have faith in you. If you must fight, promise me you will get inside if things get too heated. We will give our lives to protect you. That’s why we are here.”

Superman then flew low, he was still close to them. He tried to spot any attackers before they arrived.

Then he heard the suika's warning as suika Ringed the bell. Without hesitation, Superman flew close to Agnes.

Suika, Somewhere In The General Vicinity of A Robot (Cliffside)
Watching in horror as her local supply of non-rice-based alcohol went up in flame, Suika realized that these people knew where to hit the hardest. Perhaps that one doll youkai was calling the shots, just to spite her for some horrific reason...

If it weren't for the bar's destruction, she might've tried to go back up and assault the people bombarding the town, but now she wanted something to get her mind off of the loss. Luckily, Metal-Jawed Raiden spotted a much better, much closer target. Suika shouted "I'll get that one!" and flew towards the cliff, looking for someone to punch.

That target happened to be a boy in odd clothing with a visor, almost perfectly blended in with the terrain around him due to his color scheme. He must be really lucky to look like that, because otherwise he would never have sneaked up on them like that. Suika landed hard on the cliff face only a few feet away from his alcove, shattering the stone with the force she put into it.

Normally, she'd appear and give the enemy an introduction, a chance to introduce themselves in return, and a full warning of what she planned on doing to them.

Not today, though. Not after her saloon exploded.

In the off chance that her entrance didn't alert him to her presence, she added a loud call of "Look alive!" on top of it. Suika flew straight at him, arm at the ready to punch him in the face as hard as she could.

Raiden (Cliffs)-Reunion

Raiden cursed as bombs suddenly went past his head and he had no time to react as they impacted the town below. Turning toward the source, Raiden charged toward the rock, lightning briefly surging harmlessly with each step he took. Once he closed the distance, he did not hesitate. With one swing, he split the rock the attacker was using for cover in two. Then he spun and kicked the rock, sending it several feet away and exposing the man behind it. Then Raiden's jaw visibly dropped behind his visor, which quickly popped open, as he had to see it with his own eyes to confirm.

"You!"

Raiden's hand clenched tightly around the hilt of his blade as he pointed it at Solidus.

"What the hell are you doing here?"
