We Have All Been Genderflipped 2.0

Ada has been leaning on the wall at the foot of the stairs, quietly listening to the conversations about sp00ky supernatural stuff. Far as she can tell, she's entered a fascinating, unfamiliar and somewhat scary world she knows nothing about. A world no doubt filled with dangers in every corner, with places of ancient power, crawling with strange, hideous monsters. But that's not what is on Ada's mind.

So, what, am I to understand that there's some crazy spiritual world out there? Maybe I should stick around, y'know, for the phat loot. And the interesting people. And the clothes! God, I look even more like a hobo than usual, compared to these people...

...she might have to wait a while for the sun to go down, but she could pull it off. There can't be any security more basic than a simple alarm system on that house, she reckons, aside from a couple of hired swords (not guns; their bravery almost impressed her), some cat person, a naga (or a lamia?), the armless girl, the other girl who had kept following the latter around (sisters, by their behavior), and about five or six others she saw enter. But she wasn't counting those. The first was the only she had to worry about, should everything go smoothly.

And oh, how she wants it to. Failing in any way meant she'd have to confront the fact that she hadn't brushed up on any of her martial arts training, and having no silent way of taking anyone out, she'd basically have the whole house on her if she screws this up and has to fight someone. And who knows when these folks would be asleep? Most of them looked like teenagers — she couldn't imagine any of them being that much older — and she knew, from personal experience, how late teenagers will tend to stay up when unsupervised.

Nina shook her head, her voice carrying a hint of ridicule as she answered. "If I knew were this was I would be on my way out. Fact is, the other side should like it if we bring the guy in who brought us here. Nobody except the lunatics want the veil torn apart."

It is rather clear that Nina was a bit agitated, judging by the knifeform that appeared in her left hand for a moment.

Erika nodded, rather pleased to find nothing lying in ambush within the closet, yet a little disappointment lingered in her mind with the lack of anything overly neat. After closing the closet once more, she decided to poke her head out of the long hallway, checking up on what might be going on within the lengthy hallway.

Daydre walks into the room and looks around. ".. Hm, I guess people are meant to stay in here? Guessing it's not inhabited right now, though.."

"I guess it's safe to say you aren't exactly "the norm" yourself, Nina?", said Mikaela, eyeing the knifeform.

Well, standing around doing nothing isn't gonna accomplish anything. That's a rare sentence for me. Better have a look around for the man-slash-woman of the house. I can participate in the meet-and-greet later.

Ada walks past Mikaela, the Sturmwind sisters and Nina, all the way to the end of the hallway. She opens the first door on her right, and has a look inside.

Kit blushes. "I'm not arguing with myself. There are two of us, but we share the same body. For a loose definition of 'share'." "Good job, Kit. He definitely doesn't think you're crazy now." "Please. How is 'two souls in one body' less crazy than 'fucking cat monster'? Honestly..." She shakes her head.

" You don't sound like you're lying," Aquarius responded. " And considering you're not the first person I met today who's got another person stuck in their head, I'll trust that you're telling the truth. Kinda curious about the 'cat monster' part, though..."

Kit scratches her head. "Hmm...better let Sekhmet explain this one." "I come from a race of beings who are both feline and human. We've been living among you since before the Egyptians built the pyramids. Some of us live as humans, others as cats. Either way, there are few of us. I've seen some strange creatures in my day-" Sekhmet finds herself starting to laugh a bit. "H-hey, stop that kiddo. I'm trying to be serious here. Sorry. But honestly, outside of my parents, I've only met a handful of people like me." "And I'm Kit. I'm a flesh and blood human from the southern U.S. But we were fused together by a spell."

" A spell?" Aquarius responded. "Guess I'm not the only one dealing with the effects of one...]"

"Oh?" says Kit. "Well, we told you about ours. What did yours do?"

Joanna quickly checks her bag for any form of knockout gas. None. She wipes the sweat off her brow. She then quickly realized she's still in her "formal attire". Those gilded belts along the edges of her dress, they were prone to make quiet clinking noises as she moved about. She expects at least one person in that house would have some form of enhanced hearing, so she quickly slips out of it, and her shrug, and packs it into her bag, feeling her simple top and pants will be more conducive for completing her mission.

Though, looking up in the sky, she might need to wait. She was thinking of sleeping, but she needs to be alert in case one of them comes over and finds her. For now, she only needs a way to keep herself busy...

...oh, right, the CD player! That and a good number of CDs...she could stand to listen to a few of these albums on repeat — quite willing to, in fact. With that, she wriggles herself back into the bush and puts in a classic, slipping on a pair of simple earbuds as a roadie's words penetrate the forestal ambience with help from a loudening heartbeat...

" ...Let's just say that up until about a month or so ago, I was a magic-free, fully sighted college girl," Aquarius responded.

"You mean you can't see? Sorry to hear that." Kit frowns. "...want to talk about something else?"

" Yes please," he answered.

Emily, clearly bored with the conversation, looks around the hallway. Spotting the closed door, she walks over to it.

Realizing that even music won't completely fill the time, she decides to take out a sketch pad and flip to a blank page, the pages before filled with detailed drawings of suspects and targets she's encountered over the years...as well as a few dear friends of hers. But she doesn't want to dwell on the past; leaves too much room for error if she's clouded in unwanted memories. No, she wants to relax.

And with that, she takes a deep breath in and exhales the forest air and begins to sketch out a face...

Kit shuffles her feet a bit. "Sorry, nya. Kit was hoping you might bring up a subject." She pulls her duffle bag closer to herself.

"W-wait! You used to be a girl? Kit used to be a boy..." Her ears lower. "Kit used to have a home too...and a family..."

Mikaela keeps an eye on Emily, but remains stationary for now.

"If you are applying the veiled norm: no. If you apply unveiled norm: no, actually pretty minor. If you apply the norm of my family: weak. I do not understand why you ask, though.", Nina replied. After a look at the dagger, her eyes widened in shock.

"Hm...", said Mikaela, suddenly focused on Nina's expression, "You seem surprised."

"It has.... just been a long time since I last made such a shoddy weapon."

"Is that what your gifted with?", she asked, "Being able to spawn weapons?"

Erika goes to take one last look, before deciding to sneak out of the first room on the east she was in, before making her way to another room on the east of the long hallway of doors galore, hoping she won't draw much attention with her slithering, wondering what else the other rooms have as she holds on to the journal she procured from the room she recently left.
