Hey, I'm working on a chapter-a-week original story series but I can't find a good place to host it. The best I've found are deviantArt and Fiction Press and they both have their own problems (fave-for-fave on dA and the general layout of Fiction Press). So does anyone know a good place to host it?

Try Archive of our Own. Be warned though. The place has a nasty reputation for poorly written stuff, which may turn people away

[up]Isn't that a fanfic site?

[up][up]Have you looked at wattpad? I've never used it, but I know some stories posted on it got picked up by 'real' publishers.

Depending on how seriously you want to take it, you could do what I did and build your own site to host it. I use Wordpress, and from there I have it linked to the Webfictionguide directory. The drawback there is that you don't have a built-in audience, which means you have to work harder and take longer to see the uptick in readership. If you go that route though, Webfictionguide has a great community of writers in its forums who share lots of tips on getting your Web Serial Novel established.

Beyond that, yes, Wattpad is a good choice. It's like Fictionpress but with a cleaner interface (and no Document Manager upload to do first. It was a small step, but I hated it).
