After a couple or so weeks of watching this, I think it's about time to give this show it's own thread and page as well. Get Blake is a Nicktoons exclusive series created by Antoine Guilbaud, an animator from France currently based in Los Angeles. Guilbaud's previous experiences in animation have included writing and storyboarding on hit series such as Rocko's Modern Life, Camp Lazlo and Phineas & Ferb. It's also produced by Marathon Media, who previously produced Totally Spies, The Amazing Spies, and Martin Mystery!!! So, yeah, this series has some pretty great leverage.
The series tracks the exploits of Blake Myers, an adventurous boy who is destined to one day become a space ranger who protects humanity from alien squirrels called "Squaliens". The Squaliens, however, are sent back in time to prevent Blake from fulfilling this destiny. It's like Kid Vs Kat Meets Johnny Test, IMHO. Plus, am I the only one who thinks Blake looks like the lovechild of Fry, Wander and Sanjay? Huh, weird thinking of mine.
All-in-all, the show is So Okay, It's Average, the slapsticks get kinda stale, the dialogue is a bit bland, and the animation isn't the most beautiful thing ever, but it gets the job done. I hope to catch even more of this Impressively lively series. Any of you seen it or are invested?
