Pokemon Sun/Moon/Ultra versions (contains spoilers)

Leaks say it's a new Team Rocket lead by Ghetsis and victorious versions of the previous games's Big Bads. But you know how reliable and truthful the Internet is.

Also there's a new Alola version of a Gen 1 Grass/Poison mon

For the first one: that sounds both implausible and incredible.

For the second: Alolan Victreebel or Vileplume sounds neat. If true, it would also mean new Regional Variants, which is good.

The “Chinese Riddler” is active online again, too.

serebii has gotten real good at not posting fake leaks, so i'm gonna take it as true

...Hmmm, this news might be the one thing that changes my mind on getting the game.

So Rainbow Rocket is legit after all... I guess that one leak really was right. Well, the evidence for it kept slowly piling up. A DILF Giovanni leads the team, but Ghetsis will usurp him in the end?

Not really, no.

There are what I assume to be some leaked packaging/promotional advertisement pics for digital download cards on Serebii's twitter and those are definitely Rocket Grunts.

Also the Team Rocket grunts have a rainbow background.

Also they show a screenshot with what seems to be Lusamine's mansion what has been taken over by Team Rocket.

The rainbow rocket rumor is all about how Giovanni leads all the previous teams that succeeded in other universes to take over Lusamine’s mansion, only for Ghetsis to pull a Hijacked by Ganon and become the final boss of the post game.

Why would they put this on a freaking download card!? Seems like a massive spoiler.

Hopefully they keep their aspirations grounded and don't jump on the JRPG "Get the Legendary and become gods/create a universe/take over the world" trian.

I think you should lower those expectations if you think they aren’t gonna do that.

Team Skull are right after them in term in terms of being grounded villains, so it's not like that's out of the realm of possibility any more.

I mean, what's "grounded" here?

I would think a Villain Team-Up requires something suitably impressive, otherwise it would feel like you were gathering a bunch of evil masterminds just to Poke the Poodle.

If that's true, it sounds completely insane (in, like, a really good way), and they did a REALLY good job keeping it a secret up til now. I wonder if Bad End Cyrus, Maxie, Archie, Giovanni, and Ghetsis would have Giratina, Groudon, Kyogre, Mewtwo, and Kyurem on all of their teams, respectively. If so, Bad End Lysandre would be the bitch of the group if he doesn't have a Legendary, since his plan involved killing Xerneas or Yveltal by draining them of their life-force as opposed to using them in battle. Then again, he would also be immortal... Also curious if Bad End Lusamine and/or Guzma will be in the team. Also, how are they going to justify having other evil teams after this if they don't include the leader in this big league of evil?

On the competitive side of things, I hope Dawn Wings and Dusk Mane Necrozma have different enough stat spreads to justify using Solgaleo and Lunala over it in some circumstances, since unlike Kyurem, its formes have the same typing as its components.

When I think grounded I'm thinking they're just out to make money and exploit Alola in more mundane ways - attacking Aether Paradise for its Pokemon and research (which seems to be what's going to happen if they're at Lusamine's), and setting up a base somewhere out of sight.

Considering there's already Team Skull, the Aether Foundation, and potentially the Ultra Recon Sqauad as antagonists, if their goals are too lofty the game's just going to wind up a convoluted mess.

They'd need some sort of suitably impressive end goal, at least - these are not people motivated solely by money, after all.

It's also possible this is the post game content aside from hunting down legendaries, and if that's the case I guess there's no reason not to make it as grandiose as possible. Still don't personally want TR to devolve into all the other clowns but if they're working with them that's probably inevitable.

How cool would it be if the Pokemon Legion of Doom wasn't actually completely taken down at the end of Ultra Sun and Moon, and continued being a background or present threat in all future games, steadily growing in power with each new Bad End Team Boss the series introduces?

This sounds too awesome to be true.

But it does fit in perfectly with being the last goodbye to the Portable pokemon era. Like Switch is technically portable but it's kind of like both.

Man, if this is all legit, this is going to be something else. Team Rocket's back? And possibly all of the other teams as well? An Alolan variant for one of my favorite Pokémon? I'm getting pretty excited about this.

Possibly new Alolan forms would be great. Not sure what to think about Rocket returning.
