Is editing a page about yourself against the rules?

I've found a user who's almost certainly doing this. They only ever seem to edit pages surrounding one particular subject, and will always clip out any edit painting this person in a remotely negative light, which, from page history, they do within a few hours every time.

This also happens to be the page of a person who was once caught red handed having created a fake person as part of their crew to back them up, so this behavior isn't even slightly out of the question.

Thing is, I don't know if this is against the rules (hence why I'm not actually putting them on blast in this post)

It is absolutely against the rules to self-promote or remove negative opinions about oneself on the wiki.

Considering the number of people we've had to ban who are determined to use TV Tropes as an attack vehicle against that particular individual, we are enormously indifferent to any claims against them. In short, f*** that noise.

Long story short: Anything posted insulting that creator really shouldn't be there in the first place. Regardless of that editor's identity, things insulting a real person should go.

However, that person is making a lot of really weird cuts. On the main page I cannot fathom why Early-Installment Weirdness was cut.

And some of the YMMV cuts don't make any sense (like anti-feminists don't count as acceptable targets because right-wing politicians are on there? That's insane).

What I do is remove redundant edits or edits that I believe to be made in bad faith. So far, I have had no complaints from moderators. And as Fighteer said, there are quite a number of people who seem to be determined to use TV Tropes as a platform to attack Ms Peet rather than input anything useful.

I will admit that I am somewhat biased because I'm a fan of Ms Peet (I wouldn't have made the page in the first place if I wasn't), but since I haven't had any complaints from TV Tropes moderating staff , I will assume I have not done anything wrong. If I have, I would have been corrected by now wouldn't I?

The tvtropes moderating staff don't complain about stuff. The tvtropes moderation staff suspend people when others complain. If you have gotten complaints, pay attention to them.

[up][up] I am all for cleanup, but like I said, some of the cuts really don't make a lot of sense. Cutting a valid entry because you think it might have been made in bad faith is throwing away the baby with the bathwater.

All I know is that this individual sounds really overzealous. Maybe it would be a good idea to take a step back and let others figure out the situation.
