The CG for Garo looked a lot better than any frames from the Berserk adaptation.
It really is a terrible adaptation honestly. I'd go so far as to say the PS 2 game has better looking models and animation.
The few snippets they used from the movie trilogy was good. I could do without the generic metal though.

I watched Ajin and that show was rough but acceptable... I have no idea how this is supposed to pass as even that.
OH GOD WHY AM I A CAR!? - ForzareTales of Zestiria the X is off to a strong start to say the least. That was a gripping episode from start to finish. And Ufotable brings in their quality. I'm so on board with this one.
Zestiria is pretty and has decent enough direction, but the writing isn't great and the pacing is very awkward. And the main character of Berseria is in the OP for some reason? Might watch if I'm short on decent series
Ouch.....so the new Berserk isn't doing too well? I noticed so many people were hyped up for that, a bit unfortunate that it's hindered by issues....
Edit: Interesting thing to note as I just heard about Zestiria today and was scouring for information to see if it would generate any interest for me. So....apparently Tales of Zestiria X is an adaptation of a video game named Tales Of Zestiria as one might guess. Same plot pretty much so that might be why there is pacing problems and fumbles.
Still not sure if I want to watch it though before 91 Days and some of the other anime I am waiting for comes out....

Formerly known as Bleddyn And I am feeling like a ghost Resident Perky GothTales Of Berseria does take place in the world of Zestiria's Past, but Velvet Crowe, the main protagonist, being in the Zestiria anime is confusing.
Watch SymphogearBerserk was surprisingly shoddy, given the accolades of the source material. I guess I'm striking the anime adaptation off my watch list. Shame, really.
I'm honestly surprised how little talk Re LIFE is getting. I know fans are always excited when their manga gets adapted, but this one had a lot more than usual in the comment section so I had the impression that it was going to be quite popular. And we don't even have a thread for it. I keep thinking I should just start it myself, but I honestly don't have much to say about it beyond "It's really good and there had better be a second season."
I hope the lack of talk is just because of the release format, and that we'll get more as the episodes air normally.

That's just how it is sometimes. There will always be shows that get little to no real talk in threads like these.

With everything out at once there's no real opportunity to speculate or build a fandom. Wouldn't expect much more as the episodes get their free releases, given the amount of piracy in the fandom
It's just a really bad adaptation.
There's arguments over the merits of the other two adaptations of the series (the 90's anime versus the newer movies), and while I'm critical of the latter, the astoundingly bad quality of this new anime has made me appreciate them more because they did so much more justice to the series than this will if the first episode is anything to go by.

So Tales of Zestiria X ep 1 was a completely anime original episode. It gives me hope now that they will fix the game's huge disaster.
Yup. Releasing all the episodes at once kills discussion. While it may have individual fans who absolutely adore it, there's nothing to prompt them to actually talk about it with each other. At best they each just write their own reviews and move on to other series.
Taboo-Tattoonote Episode 1: This has been at the top of my 'Series I Would like to get an Anime' list for a long time and I very much enjoyed this first episode. The animation is somewhat odd but the fight scenes were good and the comedy was entertaining (to me at least I am sure some people won't like it).
From the opening animation it looks like we will be getting up to at least the Time Skip.

Amaama to Inazuma is adorable and hilarious and amazing and everyone should watch it. Definitely the slice of life series for the season.
Huh, Taboo Tattoo so far is proving to be better then expected. The trailer did not do it justice. The animation is pretty good, the action is decent (it focuses more on martial arts though), the comedy is surprisingly enough not cringeworthy for the most part, and the little tidbits I have gotten about the world is interesting.
The way the powers work is also intriuging. Apparently they have certain triggers like chalk, cigarettes, and so on and so on. They are also all depend on the tattoo design. Our main protags doesn't require a trigger albeit it seems like it only came out right when he was about to get killed so....
Can't say much about the protagonist. His traits seem very standard for a hero protag. He does hold his own quite well against a criminal with super strength (while having already taken a hit from said criminal no less). But it all goes downhill from there after the guy gets a second hit on him. If it were not for his power activating at the last second he would of died there.....
Formerly known as Bleddyn And I am feeling like a ghost Resident Perky GothIs it me or all the jokes in Saiki Kusuo falling flat?
Taboo-Tattoo: Some decent cinematography but the direction isn't great, and the budget allocation feels somewhat random. Some problems are probably due to trying to stuff the entire extra-long first chapter into one episode, but I'm still not terribly impressed
x3 I've read the manga, so good, I didn't know episode 1 was out yet.
New Game is probably going to be my show of choice to feed my moe addiction. The manga was already pretty subtexty but the animators decided to add pink hearts and love bubbles. I endorse this decision.
New Game is probably the most competent thing I've seen this season. Though as a manga I'm following, I'm not sure if it's new enough to me to be worth watching
- Rewrite Episode 1: Checked this out because i heard pretty bad things about it being rushed and that got my curiosity up. Honestly, it wasn't that bad. I'm an anime only viewer and I found the events pretty easy to follow. May or may not continue watching after episode two.
- Shokugeki no Souma Episode 25: Again, not as bad as people are saying it was. The speed actually helped it because otherwise I don't see how you could adapt it without it being significantly dragged out. Probably going to be the anime of the season. Looking forward to episode twenty-six.
- Love Live! Sunshine!! Episode 1: I've only seen the first four episodes of the original but this one is pretty good itself. Hopefully it doesn't take too long to get the cast together. I'm loving the main cast though so more is always good.
Taboo Tattoo: Nothing like a good action show to get the blood pumping. The animation looks great, especially during fights that are also amazingly choreographed. The plot looks simple but engaging, and I like the characters, especially Izzie who's both badass and adorable. That's how heroines should be. Definitely goes on my watchilst.
Days Episode 1: The blush stickers on the main character are horrendous. Ahem. Here we have the classic timid newbie meeting a guy who introduces him to the sport, in this case football. But it does break sports show protocol by having the newbie in question not have a special snowflake talent for soccer! In fact, he's bad at it. You have to admire his bullheaded determination. Almost breaks my suspension of disbelief knowing he'll get to play in actual matches. We'll see how it goes.
Zestiria Episode 0: Looks good, but otherwise lacks zest, ya know? Kind of just went through the motions. Exposition exposition yadda yadda.
Made threads for Taboo Tattoo and Amaama to Inazuma.
The GARO anime's first season was well received there.
