Alright! Time to go watch it!
Hmm. Five minutes in, and I'm not impressed. This show can't decide if it wants to be dramatic or comedic, and, so far, it's neither.
Edit: Fifteen minutes, and it finally had it's first genuinely funny moment. Unfortunately, that was about five minutes after the first indications that it is, indeed, going to try playing some really creepy stuff off as humorous.

And this would be?
I take it back, Re Life is hilarious. The first episode was shaky, but these characters!
Masou Gakuen Hx H: Yeah, this is just porn. I normally give some benefit of the doubt to those Action harem series, but this one is just not even trying. I watched 5 minutes of it and had to stop. Will try to power through it later but right now I can't deal with this.
If it's really "just porn", then I might actually have fun watching Masou. Being bland and formulaic is worse to me, because then these types of shows get boring. It's why I didn't enjoy any Light Novel adaptations beside Chivalry of a Fail Knight over the last year.

Just finished Re Life. It is a seriously good show. About the only things I'd say I don't like are most of the first episode, and, on occasion, the soundtrack just doesn't work. I did enjoy one character more before her plot twist reveal, but it still served the story well.
I agree. The first episode is a bit shakey, but it establishes the setup (27 year old loser is recruited for an experiment in which he turns back to 17 and goes back to high school) better than the manga did and did it less cringeworthy. The rest of the series sort of oscilliates between being fluffy wish fulfillment on the surface as the dude gets to solve the problems of the various girls he comes into contact with and something much darker. There's a bite to it that's unusual in this sort of pseudo-harem [1] anime, a bit of social commentary on the state of Japanese society perhaps.
Very much recommended.
[1] As in there are a lot of female characters around the protagonist, they're not romantically involved, but he does get involved in their troubles.
Why does crunchyroll have the full season anyway? ._.
I think having the full thing available at premiere was a demand of the japanese producer, since the app version is doing something similar
But they're still gonna broadcast it normally in Japan?
They are available on the 'Re LIFE Channel app' for Japan, which apparently costs money.
But every week it will still be airing in Japan and apparently going to be available to non-subscribers on Crunchyroll too as they air in Japan.
Just finished Re Life. I hope we get more some day, though given the anime apparently nearly catches up with the source material we may never get a sequel.
I'm definitely happy Re LIFE is getting good reception, the manga is one of my favorites right now.
So Sunshine is surprisingly rough around the edges for a new installment of a major franchise. I mean, it's enjoyable, but kind of inconsistent
So, I just watched Masou Gakuen HxH (or just borderline porn) because I hate myself.
Even though I turned off my brain, it's still really bad, especially its pacing.

Yep, H x H is an aggressively mediocre LN with more porn
Berserk is a right disaster. Art is bad, music is bad, direction is bad, pacing is bad, and the framerate is unstable. There's a few good bits where the source material shines through, but damn
How on earth do people keep screwing up good source material? How difficult can it be to not screw up when flippin' COPYING from an already-written/drawn work?
Terrible studio, that's what.
If they wanted to with CG, thats fine, but next time, get he guys who did Knights Of Sidonia so it actually has consistency.
Alternately, get Cyber Connect 2's movie studio to produce, because they actually do good CG for a japanese company.
Watch SymphogearOr whoever did the CGI battles in Majestic Prince and Akito the Exiled (I think they're the same, but I don't remember their name).
If I knew how I know everything I know, I'd only be able to know half as much because my brain would be clogged up with where I know it fromI vaguely remember hearing in a podcast that the CGI battles specifically were outsourced to some other studio, and not done by those two. I could be wrong though.
If I knew how I know everything I know, I'd only be able to know half as much because my brain would be clogged up with where I know it fromOw, Berserk. I had so much hope for you this season.
Im wondering how Japan is reacting. They tend to like / accept 3DCG a lot more than the west.
Will the coming weeks open the series up to non-subs?
