Aren't most of these stories utter bullshit and usually littered with really obvious clues that the person writing was on a guided tour?

Not this one, apparently. Story showed up on the STALKER reddit, and those folks are like dogs to a bone if someone's not playing fair.

I rather like that description the narrator used in a history documentary I once saw. He said that before the disaster happened, Chernobyl was the most modern city in the Soviet Union.

So some guy waltzed into the Pripyat Exclusion Zone for 8 days hiking through and seeing how the place has become since the Chernobyl disaster almost 30 years ago to the day. (Machine translated from Finnish I think so the English is not perfect.)
I find the place has become some very pretty stuff although I couldn't help but have "flashbacks" to "All Ghillied Up" and "One Shot, One Kill".
