Ew. So All For One really doesn't have a face at all. That's creepier than just the unmasked Darth Vador in Return of the Jedi.

... yes the crowd is still on All Might's side! So touching. Well I mean they really have no choice, he is their last hope.

Endeavor and the calvary finally arrive. Maybe now we'll see him do something he's proud of. It seems that he still admires him for everything he couldn't achieve and still cheers him on.

A young Gran Torino looks handsomer too.

One of the most intense episodes in this show yet, because it's a true game-changer in the status quo! YES THIS is the animation I been waiting for! But this means his own power is used up, probably permanently now.

Man, remember when Muscular was the most impactful and hype fight in this season?

Well, that was fantastic.

Nana was the seventh, All Might is the eight, and Izuku is ninth. There's actually a thing that at least part of each of their names indicates their place in the order of the power transfer.

You'd think a guy who had his face mauled off by All Might would steal a Quirk that let him absorb punches to the face.

God DAMN this episode was good. Delivered every bit as much as I hoped it would. Now to watch the dub.

You know, it's a testament to Hori and the anime's execution that they've given so much intensity to several fights (Deku vs. Shouto, Deku vs. Muscular, All Might vs. AFO) that are otherwise stupidly straightforward. They're basically just a "who will punch harder" contest, yet their context and thematic relevance are enough to elevate them.

A little more variety in the next few fights wouldn't hurt though.

Y Ou'd think a guy who absorbs quirks would at least get one that allows him the ability to form a new face.

They're apparently hard to come by, he did mentioned that by the time he got the regeneration Quirk it was useless to him.

Which makes sense. There are still limits to what healing quirks can do, as pointed out by Recovery Girl.

So naturally, if you're entire face is gone, then guess what?

It's gone.

Wasn't it his doctor who mentioned it?

Anyway, clearly he DID have face protection quirk, after all his head is still intact to his neck

Hmm I felt some slight Villain Decay from AFO here personally. Idk why but he seemed to lose his relatively cool demeanor here and just came off as a trollish asshole. He wasn't as likable as he was the past 2 episodes. It was slightly disappointing.

Glad All might kicked his ass, though I was expecting AFO to get up off the ground and rip him in half or something. A true shattering of dreams that would've been.

This arc ended up pretty boss.

That's not decay, that's who All For One is. He kind of hates All Might more than anyone else in the world.

Him being "likeable" before was mostly because he was talking to Tomura. He was still jovially condescending and dickish when talking to other people.

As for All Might surviving...him living despite all the numerous death flags was one of the best parts of this arc.

Most everyone who read this back during this time in the manga was shocked at the development.

Of course he's going to fuck with Alll Might. Look what he's done to him and has defeated his comrades in the past. Wanting to fuck with the guy who did that to his body is completely understandable.

He's also having the time of his life making All Might suffer.

Pretty sure if he could smile for real he would have when he made that "mocking smile".

His VA totally had a field day with the role.

Yeah, we started calling All Might "Captain Deathflag" leading up to this, and when he turned it around and just refused to die...

But on the other hand him refusing to die means SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS

Technically the regeneration Quirk was useless to All For One due to the fact that by the time he got his hands on it, all of his injuries had healed. If he had gotten it sooner(like maybe right after All Might punched his face off and left him in need of life support) than later, then he'd probably have a face.

That's also my interpretation of his situation. The super regeneration might be the reason he's still alive now though, after such a huge fight.

I think it's the same thing he gave to the first noumu though. So my interpretation is that he got the super regeneration in hopes that it would heal his injuries from the big fight, then found out that it can't fix already closed wounds, and then decided to utilize it by giving it to a shock-absorbing noumu to make it the ultimate tank.

Anyway it was interesting to see AFO show so much emotion. He was really having a lot of fun mocking All Might. And I can believe it. All Might apparently destroyed his whole organization on top of punching his face away. *I* would have nightmares too if the sight of All Might spilling guts all around and coming at my face was the last thing I saw with my eyes.

I like the idea that the reason All Might was able to beat All For One despite being unable to finish him off in the past when he was a lot stronger is that he learned from Modoriya. As All for One said during the fight, All Might tends to rely on brute force in a fight, but here, he pulled a move straight out of Midoriya’s book to beat All for One.

The best part: the crowd's reaction to his secret being exposed. He spent every episode til now making an effort to conceal what he really is, and it happens, his worst nightmare come true! .... and the crowd doesn't mind it. Humanity being kind and supportive despite their idol, the best superhero of all time, having flaws, is very touching to me! Especially when we live in a world of ignorant, toxic mobs insulting each other all the time in the news. Do not underestimate the power of kindness.
