Ren gently responds seeing Yoshiki fall asleep on his bed, smiling a little.At this point and seeing him soo tired and ready to drift off Ren just proceeds to quietly go about preparing work, like mixing some herbs together, preparing salves and small medicines for a short while. As well as once the boy was asleep putting a blanket over him with a gently stroke of his hair. A warm but very protective feeling.

Sasuke slips his arm around Tarou's back and begins rubbing his side, nuzzling against his cheek gently and grinning ear to ear. "I was a bit surprised when you invited me up here for this," he said with a warm chuckle, "But I'm glad you did. It's been a long time I've been approached by someone I... by someone who wasn't trying to use me. Nearly 200 years." His eyes focus on the window, his eyes taking on a faraway look as he pulls Tarou close to his warm chest.Tavern
Pol merely smiles and pulls out a fresh piece of parchment, and instructing Tenzo to sit up a bit straighter, "It took a while to get used to the intricacies of your language. It's not quite like any I learned back home..." "I'm as free as the dust in the solar wind."

"Tarou" pauses, not immediately sure how to respond to that. Partially because he'd brought him up here for that very reason. Obviously, he couldn't just come out and say that. Because...that isn't what Tarou would do. Or rather, that's what he convinced himself was the reasoning.
When Sasuke pulls him closer into his chest, he raises a hand, placing it there as well. He furrows his brow slightly before finally asking. "Sasuke...why aren't you afraid of me? You know full well what I am...what I'm capable of. Yet, you lay here with me in my bed, completely vulnerable..." he asks, in what seems like a genuinely curious manner.
Blacksmith Hut - Living Area
Date shakes his head. "No. Like I said, you two girls go and get some rest for tomorrow. I've got some things in store and it'd be better if you were at 100%."

The Outlander sighed for a moment after realizing how much he said about himself before continuing, "Ontagu the city I once called home, from far across the ocean. It was a very beautiful and peaceful place to live, before it was burned to the ground. I did not see how many were able to escape, but if I had to guess, I would say hardly anyone made it out alive." If one listened to the tone of The Outlander, they would note the amount of discomfort in his voice as he spoke of Ontagu.

The Outlander began to reply, his voice starting to become more vitriolic before explaining, "My people were murdered by the Chuluun khana, or the Stonewall Empire in words your people may understand. An entire army showed up at our borders one day, and when we asked why they were planning to attack us, they simply told us that we stood in the way between two cities beneath their rule. We felt no need to join them, and they saw no reason for the two of us to coexist, so they destroyed everyone and everything...well, almost everyone. We tried to fight them off, but there were too many and their weapons were too strong...it was...it was a massacre.
At this point, The Outlander struggled to continue speaking, the memories clearly hurting him as he relived the worst parts of it that he currently hadn't shared. Even as the flames soared and the smoke became abundant, nothing could stop the screaming, the loud, terrified, anguished screams...

"I'm pretty sure that if the Chuluun Khana ever set foot on this land, they would start one of the worst wars of our time," The Outlander remarked, his mind easing up a bit before taking a deep sigh as he added, "as painful and hate-inducing as these memories are, I suspect these events did not happen without reason. To have experienced the kind of tragedy and misfortune I have must have been delivered as punishment for bad karma from a past life. Perhaps I was once a cruel soldier whom deserved to learn what true suffering was like. Afterall, my friends, my family...everything I had, are all gone...yet I am still here for reasons I still seek.

As of the timeskip, a few events of the narrative are being slightly changed to better fit proceeding forward.
- The cause of the shrine’s partial destruction is going to be the cause of a normal fire.
- The workers that are repairing the shrine never got attacked or killed.
- Polgara will no longer be present.
- Tenzo’s background and characterization will be slightly changed.

Shrine Grounds - Construction Site
The grounds of Sonome's shrine were bustling with activity as the local carpenters busied themselves with the shrine's restoration after the damages it sustained from the fire over a week ago. Things seemed to be progressing well, if a bit slowly, due to various factors.
Standing beneath the Torii gate, was Tarou, idly watching the workers and their progress. Since being dismissed as the village's guardian, he's decided to forego wearing his uniform, instead deciding to adopt a more casual attire. Today, it was a plain cloth shirt and pants, both dark, but not quite black, and a pair of simple sandals. Folding his arms, his gazed drifted to the shrine itself, and he sighed. Seems like something was on his mind.
Date's Shop - Forge
Date was presently busy at work, working on improving the weapons of the village's new guards. And did they definitely need the improvement. As far as he was concerned, whoever was responsible for these "glorified toothpicks" could use about a good week of instruction from him.
Kujou Estate - Exterior
Minami sat on the steps out front of her home, making sure the fastenings on her footwear were secure. The last thing she needed was to hurt herself while training with Master Date. Well, hurt herself again, anyways. Her father was already constantly looking for reasons to get her out of it. Even her mother wouldn't be able to convince him as she had until now if that were to happen.
Tavern - Bar
Yoshiki sat in the Tavern, busy practicing his caligraphy, as was a daily ritual for him. A page of already completed, skillfully drawn characters sits before him, already on the second set by now.

Kokoro was already in the forge, she had come quite early, as she had every day. Currently she was happily whistling a tune as she helped Date.

Date raises the sword in his grasp to the light, looking it over for any imperfections. "Right, this one's good." he says before placing it over with the rest of the completed weapons. Feeling the forge going cold, he holds his hand over it and subtly channels his power into it, stoking its flames remotely. "How are you doing over there, Kokoro?" he asks, glancing over with his nearly ever-present smile.
Kujou Estate —> Village Plaza
When she was satisfied, Minami stood and began making her way to the Date's hut. "I should hurry. I do not want to let Date-san and Kokoro finish all of the work before I get there." she says to herself as she walks.
As she nears the plaza, she pauses briefly, glancing around as if she's noting the presence of something unseen. Nothing immediate catches her attention however, aside from the movement of other people around her.
"...Hmm..." Deciding to ignore it, she continues on.

Kokoro wished some sweat from her forehead, looking at her own sword shortly, and while it was nearly perfect there still was something amiss. Looking over to Date she smiled. "Its going well Master, don't worry." And with that she sighed shortly with a smile, deciding this quality would not do, before getting the sword closer to the forge to continue.

"Tarou" rests his head against Sasuke's chest, his breathing a bit slow and drawn out, as his body works to recover from his...ordeal. "...Gods...That was way overdue. In the worst way..." He answers, raising a hand to gently stroke Sasuke's hair, then moves it down to place it on his chest. He waits for a moment, and then frowns slightly as if he feels something is off.
Wait a minute...I feel satisfied. Even though I didn't leech on his spirit at all. Why, though...? That's never happened before...
Tavern - Ren and Mana's Room
Yoshiki smiles a bit, nodding at Ren's encouragement. "Mmkay. Thanks, Ren..." He says with a small smile as he lays down on his side on the bed, ready to doze off. "...I'll learn and make myself useful..." He mutters before quickly drifting off.
Blacksmith Hut - Living Area
"If you don't have any problems with that, then yes, that was my thinking." Date answers Rhylu with a nod. "That is, if you do not mind sharing living space with a nearly 10 century year old man." He chuckles.
Minami smiles. "You are very welcome. It took a little work, but...My mother has always been good at convincing my father. Anyhow, whenever you are ready, I can take you there."

Tarou thinks for a bit. Given how common his own given name was, he wasn't sure if he was the beat person to ask about naming. "...Well..." He glances around, perhaps looking for something to give him an idea or inspiration. As his gaze stops on the river in the distance, he pauses. "Well...What about...Kawa? River, I believe..." He says, sounding a bit unsure.
