Yeah, those pics are a little too close to each other. Of the suggestions, I like the Terminator one best, possibly paired with Sarah's dialogue about the Terminator at that point.
If you need a distinction from Interspecies Adoption, I think you also need a distinction that it isn't just the normal parent.

Perhaps different hair colors would help to establish the lack of genetic relation? Like this example◊ from Aliens?

Previous thread. The current pic is pretty cute, but it's also very similar to the pic used on the related trope Interspecies Adoption, which muddles the distinction between the two. I think we should therefore start looking for an alternative where the two aren't necessarily of different species.
Haven't found a suggestion I really like yet. First ideas: John Silver with Jim Hawkins◊, Terminator with John Connor◊ and Sarah Connor◊.
