Previous thread. The current pic is pretty cute, but it's also very similar to the pic used on the related trope Interspecies Adoption, which muddles the distinction between the two. I think we should therefore start looking for an alternative where the two aren't necessarily of different species.

Haven't found a suggestion I really like yet. First ideas: John Silver with Jim Hawkins, Terminator with John Connor and Sarah Connor.

Yeah, those pics are a little too close to each other. Of the suggestions, I like the Terminator one best, possibly paired with Sarah's dialogue about the Terminator at that point.

If you need a distinction from Interspecies Adoption, I think you also need a distinction that it isn't just the normal parent.

^^ I'm not sure how we go about picturing that other than with a caption. On reflection, I also think we should try to keep this as distinct as possible from A Boy and His X.

Perhaps different hair colors would help to establish the lack of genetic relation? Like this example from Aliens?
