I'm on the fence on this one. While on the one hand I can see the argument that the current is weaker on the "conspicuously barefoot" part, he does fit the "wise old sage" look better.
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"
Since current is similar to Hermit Guru, I would welcome an image change. But I am not a fan of the suggestion.
I said on the Discussion page for the article that I'd support the change, and I don't really see much reason to back down. It's a tad lateral, but the reasoning given was convincing enough for me.

Actually, the idea was to crop on the two in center, where one of the pair (the younger) has sandals on.

Previous thread. This appears to be the Plato pic that was suggested there, fitted to wiki size.
That one was a solid second place in the crowner, since the lack of footwear on the cropped-out students isn't obvious, and Plato looks old and wise in contrast to the younger, be-sandled Aristotle. It's just that no one noticed that Guru Pathik was already on Hermit Guru three months ago.
I'd support that change.

This had already been discussed several months ago, but I would like to suggest yet another image for this article (this is actually the Oracle of Kandrakar from W.I.T.C.H.):
My rationale is that Guru Pathik in the current image is not only barefoot, but also pretty much undressed, and it obscures the picture's meaning; besides, his image is also used in Hermit Guru, where it looks more appropriate. Conversely, in this image of Oracle the lack of footwear IS an unusual and noticeable detail, and it also fits the current image's caption.
