A lot of the examples for Anachronism Stew seem to be redundant with Schizo Tech. This is especially true for secondary world fantasy universes where it's not really possible to say what is actually anachronistic since they don't usually take place in a particular period of real world history (and even though some are based on a particular period of history, it's often deliberately loosely so), and so the examples for those are usually just about tech and culture of different eras (swords and trains, crossbows and airports, etc.) being mixed together, which is pretty much what Schizo Tech is.

In my opinion Anachronism Stew should be limited to real world settings where stuff is historically out of place within the time period it is set in.

What's wiki policy on examples on supertrope/subtrope pages? I'm not sure where to check. Since Anachronism Stew is the supertrope to Schizo Tech, which page examples go on should solve this.

Also, which pages are you concerned about? I've been skimming some of the Anachronism Stew sections and seeing mostly multiple types of anachronism (like tech + social attitude + costume, the lattermost of which I don't think has its own subtrope, interestingly) which fits better on the general anachronisms page than trying to shoehorn it into a subtrope page.

I apologize if I put something in the wrong place; I can't see without my glasses.

I don't see a problem.

Anachronism Stew is a wide supertrope including lots of cases about objects and concepts being misplaced in time (as it pertains to evolution, invention, or other types of progress).

Are there any cases where Anachronism Stew and Schizo Tech don't overlap? I'm not entirely sure Anachronism Stew would cover fictional worlds, while Schizo Tech does.

I'm talking about stuff like the first two entries on the Video Games section for example. Both of them pretty much only talk about tech, and there are plenty more of those even on that page itself. Not saying Anachronism Stew isn't a valid trope, but it needs some cleaning up.

I don't know when Anachronism Stew became a supertrope, but I don't think it should be one, especially when we already have This Index Is Anachronistic (which already has most of the subtropes listed here). A lot of the subtropes don't necessarily follow the definition of a stew, or at least they don't always have to (since many of them can include examples with a single anachronism). They're fine mentioned as related tropes that sometimes overlap but not subtropes.

I also feel it works best when limited to real world examples where there are examples of things that are anachronistic for the time period the story is set in. I don't think it makes much sense to talk about anachronisms in social attitudes, education levels, cultural habits or fashion in made-up fantasy universes, since they don't necessarily follow real world history and you can't really say that something doesn't belong (and it's probably impossible to find any made-up fantasy world that strictly follows a single period of real world history in all of those aspects anyway). Fantasy examples are fine in some of the subtropes, on the other hand since they work even without considering real world histor. For example, Schizo Tech works for fantasy, even without actually looking at the historical basis for the technology, since it's pretty much about universes where primitive and advanced tech (including fantastic and futuristic tech) are used at the same time.

If you want to redefine it to include or exclude certain types of examples you feel don't fit, you should take it to TRS, with proper reasoning why it's broken as it is.
