• Biography: Jayden Tucker's life has always been a living hell. He had only been 3 when his dad left, and was 5 when his mom had married Lawrence. He had seemed nice at first, but it wasn't a week until he revealed his true colors as an alcoholic piece of shit. Lawrence had always declared himself an alpha, and that everyone was beneath him. Jay and his mother had been beaten countless times and reduced to almost slavery. Despite that, Jay's mother had always been strong, kind, and beautiful, even when she had been diagnosed with cancer. She had always been a ray of hope for Jay, hope the things would get better. That was, until she lost her battle with cancer. It has been 6 months since then, and things have only gotten worse. Without Jay's mom to beat, Lawrence has been taking his anger out on his stepson. Then SUITFALL happened. Now, Jay has a chance to be the alpha.

For clarification, I know it's been a week since the original Suitfall incident— my explanation is that she was laying low to see how things went before really taking an active role. No sense painting a target on your head from day 1.

• Name: Jane Wilhelm
• Suit Name: Hellkite
• Age: 17
• Gender: Female
• Biography: An American of Japanese ancestry on her mother's side, Jane was raised in Marbury in North Eastside Estates (which made things somewhat awkward when people at school assumed she was Chinese). Her mother was well paid cardiologist, while her father was a mortgage broker. Between the two of them, they managed a comfortable existence for themselves and their daughter. However, the early times weren't to last. After the housing bubble burst, her father was left unemployed, and unable to find a job to satisfy his demanding wife. He spent every waking moment working his hands to the bone, or finding a new job to do so when needed, but it was never enough. Any romance, tenderness, or affection gone from his marriage, he secretly began an affair with a former co-worker who had been lucky enough to hold onto her position. When his wife discovered this, she filed for divorce, gaining sole custody of Jane, taking "half" of all assets (read: 1/2 all funds, and nearly all the physical possessions), and slapped him with child-support payments he couldn't possibly afford.
  Jane initially resented her father, but as the years went on and she realized how cold and bitter (and batshit insane, occasionally) her mother had become, she grew to empathize with him, frequently defending him when her mother would go on her rants about his worthlessness. Growing away from the perfect daughter her mother wanted her to be and into a tomboyish, often coarse, young woman, she developed a playful impudence, a caustic wit, and a fierce individualism, getting in trouble with increasing regularity, sneaking out of the house against her mother's wishes and skipping school... as was the case on the day of SUITFALL.

Sorry I was absent for so long. I had some real life stuff to deal with, and I couldn't really think of a way to throw in the character. I've updated and fleshed out the biography for easier intro. Sorry if this causes any issues. Feel free to bump me out for now if you need to. The suit's still the same.

I heard a rumor that one of the reasons you kept me out was because I didn't put enough effort in.

Here's some damn effort.

• Name: formerly Jason Hood, now Arial
• Suit Name: Black Onslaught
• Age: 19
• Gender: Male
• Biography: A complete recluse of a teenager, Jason was always the one least likely to invest any form of effort into anything at all. This had a disastrous effect on almost every aspect of his life, from his grades that he barely scraped by with, to his friendships which collapses in weeks if they even started at all, and even at home, where he often found himself getting into verbal fights with his mother over what seemed to him like trivial things. The problem with him was that he just didn’t care about anything or anyone, and didn’t even bother hiding it. He could easily faded away into obscurity if he had been left to his own devices, but then, well… let’s just say a fairly minor event took his life in a slightly different direction. Coincidentally, he’s now actually motivated, and puts effort into things. Only, one problem. Due to not caring for anyone, his morality and restraint were and still are completely and utterly wrecked when he first felt the power of his suit for the first time. Killing off his mother, the only person who could identify him, in order to be free, was not his smartest move. He was forced into hiding for quite a while, just to let the last vestiges of his old identity fade away, but now that they’re gone, and the heat died down a little (as far as he knows), he’s going to come back. This is gonna suck.
• Goals: Do whatever he feels like doing, and murder anyone who would stop him.
• Appearance: A somewhat tall, pale-skinned androgynous-looking person. Brown hair, reaching a little past the shoulders. Brown eyes. Frequently wears a plain red shirt, at least when not inside the armor. Looks slightly inhuman, which helps give him away as someone with Infused nanites. Appears to be in a perpetual state of absolute boredom.

Dragon 573, as long as Jane is legit getting into trouble with her suit and committing crimes and otherwise doing things a delinquent badass would do when given a cool suit of powered armor, she's in.

Then would you just say what the issue is, already? This is actually really pissing me off.

Seeing as a certain someone blew up the police station and the authorities weren't really able to do a damn thing about it, that's the basic plan.

I can't tell you about what I was told for fear of revealing who told me. What I can tell you is shit that I did later, which is look into your post history. Not a fan. Both briefness and power gaming are things Mech RP's of the past have struggled with so it's extra problem here.

If that weren't enough, with this new signup you're hitting some hardcore Edge. Look, I made a guy who's pretty angsty. I can appreciate dark shit, I wouldn't like Gundam so much if I didn't, but there's a line to tread here and you have failed to do so.

Um, I have no intention of joining this RP, but may I propose a suggestion?

How about you list these guidelines - basically a list of do's and don'ts when making a character for this RP - in the OP? We have no idea what the power levels should be, or what the tone should be like. It'd honestly be much more helpful to people, rather than to just have them continue working with trial and error.

That said, powergaming aside, Engie has done some pretty amazing stuff in R Ps, especially in the Arena Spinoff. I think he is more than capable of posting in a RP like this, even if he doesn't have prior experience with these sorts of R Ps IIRC.

Bruh, tones are all over the place for characters, I'm not gonna dictate that, and power levels are gonna be roughly equal because of the point-buy system. I said in the OP that I expected people to be adults, and that includes a certain standard away from Edgy. If you're familiar with the works of Frank Miller, I figure he's a good signpost of True Edge.

I also don't really think it's necessary to get a masterpost of rulings; is it not SOP to read through the rest of the thread to make sure you aren't making a character similar to someone else's?

And my readings of what engie has done are not your readings. I walked away with a different interpretation of his actions.

I... can't really argue with that. And I'll admit, I'm about as in the dark here as Engie is. But he has been spending so much time trying to get into this RP. Rules are rules, and I understand that.
