So, who else has been catching this show? I've watched all of the first four episodes that are out so far, and simply put, Samantha has been slaying left, right, and center on this show. She's been really unleashing a very sharp tongue, willing to cross the line twice to make jokes, like fellow Daily Show alums she's taking on very real issues, especially in politics that are worthy of attention, and I've been very impressed so far.

Here's a quick clip from the end of her most recent episode to give you a quick taste if you haven't been watching:

Another another clip from the same show.

Full episodes are available on TBS.com, (complete with interminable ads) and just about everything plus some bonus material gets posted on youtube the day after the show airs, (Mondays at 10:30 Eastern Time) so check it and enjoy!

On what Trump supporters want, why they feel the way they do, and their endless ability for denial and self-delusion:

Personally, I'm enjoying her a lot more than I am Trevor Noah right now. Between Sam, John Oliver, and Colbert (even with the limitations of network television), the Daily Show alum are showing what experience actually brings to the table. They have an assuredness of voice and finely honed abilities in this realm, where he's still finding his footing.

And I like Trevor. But if I was going to drop one of them, it would be him.

Anyway, about the show itself, I like that Sam hasn't tied herself to a desk, and not locking the format into having a guest is great, too. It gives her space to do lots of studio work, and still have field pieces, which were always what she was best at on TDS. Unless they're particularly interesting to me, I usually skip guests on TDS and The Late Show (and the fact that the format is so reliant on the panel is why I stopped watching The Nightly Show), which means Full Frontal is packing as much funny into a single episode as TDS is doing all week sometimes.

I wasn't really interested of a show headlined by Sam Bee. She was between good and great on TDS, but her style didn't really fit me and I figured she'd keep the general tone of it even if the show was new so wasn't going to touch it. Then I just got really bored some days back.

I quite like this show. Her old style is still there and it still mildly annoys me but it's easily outweighed by the tight writing and fast pace. Some of the burns have been really good. I agree with the idea that leaving guests out was a good decision.

Watching all these shows during the US election cycle is causing a serious issue with an echo chamber though, thus hurting the enjoyment. Will have to disagree with [up] on which of the four to drop though. While Noah has turned out to be only competent and Colbert is still being brilliant, the latter's new format is terrible and makes even him unwatchable. So it's Colbert who gets voted off my island.

I love Sam Bee and her show, airing only once a week, doesn't demand a huge chunk of my time to watch. Go girl!

It didn't help that the TBS player was just awful.

Anyways, this was a good episode. I didn't particularly care about the vape culture segment, but the Nevada Convention segment was pure fire.

Also, how does Full Frontal not have a TV Tropes page? That's just sad. Unfortunately I'm terrible with the formatting system or I'd make it myself.

Not available outside the US. And this isn't the sort of thing that gets put on Couchtuner. :/

(I wish this was a Netflix show. We have that Chelsea Handler talk show because Netflix is global but...........I like Samantha Bee more.)

The problem with troping a political show is that it isn't really a "creative" work in the sense that we like to define those, which means that you're basically troping the presentation, format, and running gags. Which are interesting but not particularly useful.

@Fighteer but Last Week Tonight is on here just fine so I think we could manage if we follow a similar style of troping.

Yes, I know. It makes me uncomfortable but I don't have a good argument against it that doesn't apply to a ton of other work articles.

Love Tennant! Ever since I watched him as The Doctor, I've had terrible dissonance hearing his native accent. I still can't quite shake it.

If I make the main trope page, will anyone else help expand on it?

Yes, I will work on it. I am very surprised this show still does not have a page yet.

The thing with political news shows is that they are at the margins of what we consider to be tropeworthy. That hasn't stopped us from making articles about them, but we have to be careful not to make it seem as if the article is applauding the points of view presented in the show. We can trope the presentation and the narrative techniques used, but we can't trope the people or subjects that the show discusses.

We have pages for the Daily Show and the Colbert Report so I don't see a problem having a trope page for Full Frontal with Samantha Bee

Fortune's 'Greatest Leaders' list includes Samantha Bee, snubs Trump. Well deserved, I say.
