A friend of mine is working on his story, and he's made a bit of progress. He recently decided to write a short prologue to help briefly introduce the reader to the various elements going on in the story, such as characters, history, setting, and so on. I've gone over it, but I admitted to my friend that I wouldn't be a good critique because I already know what he has planned for the story, and so I can't actually be introduced to anything. I offered to take this to TV Tropes and hopefully find a fellow troper who would be willing to go over his prologue and provide feedback on if it catches their interest without revealing anything big. He fully welcomes criticism on his writing style.
