I like Misuzu. I'm still working on my pet theory that she is in love with Tomo and is willing to suffer herself as long as Tomo is happy. She's willing to burn her own bridges in the pursuit of giving her friends what they want, after all - that's what she's doing here with Carol, too.
Personally I feel like Carol doesn't actually believe what Misuzu is telling her, so much that she's upset that Misuzu is lying to her in the first place. A lot of the problems in the group are arising from Misuzu's hangups and her refusal to be honest with Tomo or herself about her feelings, I think.
It's been fun.I like Mizu because she's so flawed. This also gives the distinct feeling that she doesn't actually realise what impact she can have at times. On the other hand, Caroline is kinda special in many ways.
Check out my fanfiction!Yeah, basically. She thinks she has everything figured out, but she's applying very strong pressure without really understanding all of her friends' motivations. And she does understand things in broad strokes, but like I said, I think she underestimates her own connections with people and is willing to basically leave herself alone and disliked if it means that Tomo and Carol (mostly Tomo) can have the person they would "prefer" to be with.
It's been fun.The problem I have with the characters is not their motivations or actions, but just their personalities in general. Especially Misuzu with her edgelord wannabe attitude. The only reason I am staying is because I want to see the development of the flaws you guys stated and Tomo getting her happy ending, otherwise I would have treated this as just a yonkoma with stupidly annoying characters.
I don't think that's quite what an edgelord is. And the way things are turning out, changes are bound to happen. Well, depending on how much status quo rules.

Check out my fanfiction!Misuzu isn't really an edgelord, she's just intimidating.
And yeah, I feel like things are definitely going to change soon. It's taken a while, but even things like Jun admitting he knows how Tomo feels are significant changes.
It's been fun.And if we're looking at something towards a conclusion, the conclusion for the main character usually happens after conclusions for other characters, if they get any.
Check out my fanfiction!By edgelord, I meant her abrasiveness in interacting with people. Yukino from Oregairu is similar, but has actual reasons for her attitude. Misuzu would be the victim of bullying if Tomo didn't exist. Heck, Yukino is bullied and friendless due to her attitude, so she's way more relatable.
That's nowhere near what edgelord means, is the thing.
Also, I think it's pretty clear that Misuzu doesn't like herself very much, if at all. She doesn't think she's better than her friends; she's just willing to be the one left alone if that's what it takes to make them all happy.
It's been fun. Then use whatever term is appropriate. Whatever Misuzu is, I don't like it. Self-loathing is something I've seen often in many characters, and they're handled way better.
To be honest, Misu just comes off to me as a massive cunt at times.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. And without her, the manga would probably be rather dull.
Check out my fanfiction! The manga didn't have much meat to begin with. Like the bacteria in the decomposition process, she's essential, but not enjoyable.
While certainly a colorful metaphor, no one's making you read the manga, you know. There's plenty of other things out there if you're not enjoying this one.
It's been fun.I don't even want her away from the work entirely. I just want her condescending attitude turned down a bit.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. As I said before, I do like Misuzu's motivations and the actions she take, it's just that they are stuck to an annoying personality. It's what make that hate stronger, she can't be written out due to her importance to the plot. She is simultaneously why I like and dislike the manga.
On the contrary, she's very enjoyable. About as much as Cotton Candy.
What would be hilarious right now would be if Misaki comforts Mizu since she's broken, and Caroline sees that and misunderstands.
Check out my fanfiction! Not for me. Well, it seems to be a realm of personal taste.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.I'd like to hope that it won't go in that direction, if only because it would be another wrinkle that we don't really need, and one that Carol doesn't seem likely to fall into.
It's been fun.Why do I feel like that witnessing upset Carol is like being at site of ground zero
Lol.
I love how Carol's crying face is most realistic crying face I've ever seen in manga or anime. None of that "beatiful/cute crying face" thing, all the "snot and messy and etc" realism
What's not beautiful and/or cute about it?
I'm pretty sure it's not the only time I've seen it, but it's pretty rare. Emphasis on "pretty".
Check out my fanfiction!Gonna say, the last couple of pages have been very refreshing in terms of Caroline expressions. Not that she doesn't bounce back to her usual very quickly.
I also wonder if that would fall under Gone Horribly Right.
Check out my fanfiction!Seems almost like Carol is on pillow rampage
I hate all of the main characters except Tomo, so I'm happy someone else feel my pain.
