Rock Paper Shotgun likes the game
Looks interesting, might check it out then. And the price is reasonable.
Can you give something to confirm that, I've found nothing about it in the wesbite of Hitbox, who made Dustforce.
Correction: It's not made by the entirety of Hitbox Team, but by one of their core members, Matt Bush.
The price is fine in my book, but with the caveat that I only say so because the game comes with a proprietary engine that does some very nifty stuff. If it was simply made in Unity, I wouldn't pay more than a quid at most.

Fear the cinnamon sugar swirl. By the Gods, fear it, Laurence.Having that the devs they created a custom engine as a buying decision factor is kinda pointless IMHO, but to each thier own. I'd rather judge a game on its actual design merits rather than the tech used.

No, because creating the engine is part of the design process. It was specifically created to work in a way similar to old id-tech, rather than just aping a pseudo-retro look with tons of post processing bullshit, like e.g. STRAFE does.
The game is generally getting a pretty rave reception. It also has already garnered quite a bit of popularity on Youtube. Which is perfectly fine with me, because that means we might get more content and maybe even modding tools.

Devil Daggers is a score-based arena survival FPS with a graphic style reminiscent of the first Quake and a procedural drone/noise soundtrack generated by the on-screen action. Made by the folks who brought Dustforce, and out now on Steam for around 5 quid.
