Hello!

I've been getting into the cosmic side of Marvel recently. I've read Annihilation: Conquest and War of Kings, and I'm currently reading Realm Of Kings.

After Realm Of Kings comes The Thanos Imperative, but what happens between that and Infinity? Where does the story go between 2010 and 2013?

Also, any recommendations of other cosmic Marvel stories would be most welcome. :-)

You could've just asked the question in the main Marvel thread but:

  1. This is pretty much the reading list for Cosmic Marvel. Once Brian Michael Bendis takes over the quality of the cosmic side of Marvel dropped dramatically and all events in it were just Avengers stories that happens to take place partly in space with Bendis' Guardians as guest stars.
  2. Rocket Raccon, Groot, Guardians 3000(with the Secret Wars version of Korvac Saga after) and now Guardians of Infinity(the main story not the back ups) are the comics to read if you want more cosmic stories. Silver Surfer and the new Nova after the original writer left and it got less generic are also pretty good.

Actually, I'd say that even when Jeph Loeb was writing Nova, it was pretty good. People give the book a lot of shit for not being about Richard Rider, but it's a good book that has solid characterization and a really good plot, even through multiple writers.

[up] Loeb's brief Nova run was dragged down a bit by generic elements. It felt, at times, like Loeb was just checking things off a List of Teen Hero Tropes. But it was still a good comic. That it was a good comic written by Jeph Loeb was not something anyone expected. And then the recent Captain America: White that he did with Tim Sale was also great. Hopefully, it means Loeb is over his son's grief (as much as that's possible, anyway). It has me actually wanting to see him do more comic stuff.

I've heard good reviews of Jeph Loeb's Nova series. Richard Rider is the Nova I'm familiar with, but I'd be willing to give a different one a chance if the stories were well written. From what I've seen of Bendis' Guardians, it seems rather too slick and shiny in a very mainstream way. What I like about cosmic Marvel is how obscure it is, and I don't like the idea of obscure characters being thrust into the mainstream like Marvel is currently doing with the Inhumans. I also don't like how they've got a big name writer to do it. Abnett and Lanning were arguably big name writers, but the things they worked on were, as far as I know, relatively obscure, whereas Bendis has done big crossovers as well as Avengers, X Men, and other stuff..

Also, was there anything released in 2012 between Annihilators and Infinity?
