Somewhere in Space

Slowly, a figure with silver skin pirouettes in lazy circles through the cosmos. He wears nothing, and appears to have burn marks all of his body. His eyes are in a lazy, half open state, and there is a dull light behind them that would best be described as "Standby."

Within his mind, a hundred images race through his mind - awakening to chaos, pulled from his pod by a dear friend and colleague, and blasted from a ship's cockpit window to drift through space forever. Or so one would think. For a moment, something within his mechanical brain clicks, and suddenly he knows that he is drifting slowly toward a planet called Riva. Not that it really means anything to him, of course - his damage is extensive, and now he exists only in this half on, half off state. Standby.

The Troperia

Lex's Quarters

Kijo awakens on fire. Figuratively, of course. Every muscle aches, and his skin burns in the places he had been worked on.

"Ah...nope..." he says as he tries to sit up. The maintaining of the Grid, while a rare occurrence (especially lately), is still a process that leaves him aching for a while, even with microsurgeons repairing the damage at an accelerated rate.

Kijo takes a moment to look around, noting that he is back in Lex's room, though he makes note that the Kirina is nowhere to be found. He has no idea whether or not they are still on Alexander, or even how long it's been since he's been unconscious.

Troperia, Biolab

Mireille shook her head with a smile and pat Nebris "Its alright, its not a question about what helps more, don't feel forced to do it Nebris. Also a hair is fully fine." She then turned to Kyerine "and this is important to remember, never let your curiosity compel you to do something bad to someone, okay? If Nebris doesn't want to its alright." She was still smiling warmly, and her tone made clear that this was not meant as some kind of scolding but rather a normal lesson.

[Troperia Briefing Room]

Andris remained silent, having taken a seat near the back to stay out of the way. Vis eyes were unfocused and ve appeared to be staring off into space as ve sank into the Probability Trance, absorbing this new information and correlating it with what ve already knew and had inferred. An observer might conclude that ve wasn't paying attention, but anyone who knew what Primes were capable of would know better.

Tor's Room

"Ah...yes... I certainly can't fly very well... Probably best that we were teleported aboard." He says, rubbing the back of his neck then getting up and heads over to his husband, massaging his back, "What are those, babe?"

Lounge

Merrick smiles over to the fluttering origami bird, then hands Christopher a pair of gloves, "Heh. Here ya go, lil' buddy."

Biolab

Nebris smiles over to Kyerine, seemingly bolstered by his confidence, "Thanks, Kyerie. Can you hold my hand?"

Then, to Mireille, she nods, smiling, ”Ok, thank you Dr. Mirell. I’ll be ok with either way.”

VR Room

Lex rests her hand on Val's shoulder at the nostalgia wave, while the elder approaches, staring up at his face, "Your kind is fading fast, there is nothing I could teach you to change that fact. Don’t waste your time and mine trying to change the past."

Briefing Room

Chris arches an eyebrow and holds Peter’s hand, ”That’s one hell of a coincidence. Wonder if you’re related to Merrick too.” he teases. ”And, yeah, like Greg says, we’ve been family for years now, this just solidifies things a bit. It’s cool, though. And explains a lot.”

Troperia

VR Room

Val's brow and fingers twitch for a moment as the elder provokes him, but he quickly swallows his anger. "The only thing I can do is to look to the future. I became a doctor to that end, so I can help rebuild and not just destroy." He says, firmly but calmly.

Briefing Room

Peter considers Chris' idea for a moment. "Probably not. I mean, I guess we can ask Cristina at some point." Hearing his boyfriends tell Dom how they feel about him, he adds to it. "Yeah, you're pretty much putting me through college, and that's just scratching the surface."

Dominic makes a small smile from all that. "Thank you." He replies simply.

"And I'll be the 'cool uncle'." Mitch chimes in with a grin. He notices Rakiri is mostly paying attention to his communicator, though he doesn't say anything. He does, however, shape a small section of the table where Rakiri is into a hand, holding him gently.

"More like the perverted uncle." Peter replies with a smirk, to which Mitch just brushes off with a chuckle.

"To answer your questions." Dominic says to Torvahk and Greg. "By itself? Not much at this point - it's almost trivial. But we're far more concerned with how and why he's changed so drastically. And unfortunately, that's one of the questions that I have no answer to at this point. It means, something -or someone- tampered with Peter at a very young age. Possibly even before birth."

"But how'd I end up on Knossos in the first place, then? Aren't Prometheans all born in Hestia?"

"Almost all. Dominic corrects Peter. "A small fraction of the last couple generations were delivered to term by surrogate mothers - at least some of them were due to being part of additional experimental projects. Some of them are quite secretive, so I wouldn't blame you if you've never heard of them."

He highlights the line of text stating Peter as a host of Savato. "From what I know, Savato -meaning Saturday in Terran Greek- is the last major oncosymbiote strain in development. If we presume that Peter was part of that project, that explains why you were sent off-world as well as how you manifested psionics without nanites. Well, more accurately, I should say that you received nanites as part of the package."

Val notices Andris staring into blank space, and takes a quick overview of his mental state. While he didn't have an in-depth understanding of how a Prime's mind worked, he was able to recognize his brain activity as being reminiscent to someone in deep thought - particularly Izzie, whose neuroplasticity and cybernetics allow for a similar analytical ability.

"Hey. You alright there?" He asks telepathically.

Troperia Briefing Room:

This time Torvahk managed to stay more alert, taking note of what was being said as best he could. He definitely took note at Peter jovially referring to Mitch as a pervert, which would probably explain his earlier behavior that Torvahk suspected might have been flirting, and he also wondered why anyone would tamper with someone's development, especially at a young age. To him it sounded eerily similar to some of the Kahmantrezk or "Warrior Perfect" technologies used by his disgraced ancestors, the Crimson Imperium, to strengthen their soldiers. Such technology was also frequently used for less ethical purposes in the pursuit to improve the Kahmandra species as a whole, and in hindsight it was entirely possible that no surviving Kahmandra were unmodified. He shuddered at this thought, the idea of genetics overshadowing his years of intense training and dedication to protecting his people.

"So. People other, modified many how?" Torvahk tried to ask, his syntax probably causing confusion as to what he meant to say considering it could be interpreted in more than one sense.

Briefing Room

"Uh...right!" Greg says and nodding as Dom talks, as if he understands everything thing says when he really hardly has a clue.

Rakiri glances up, watching the others and then back to his communicator. Once he feels the hands suddenly around him, he jumps in surprise, looking down at them in confusion before looking up and around, stopping at Mitch. ”...”

Amos's Room

”Oh, right. I did tell you to eat. But, cookies for breakfast?” Amos says, not in a chiding, but more humored way. ”Well, I guess it is around lunch time. My biometrics are saying its not a bad time for me to eat again either.” he continues as he gets up from the floor, lightly brushing off his clothing. ”I think I'll head to the lounge.”

Tor's Room

”Ah, this?” Tor glances over his shoulder for a moment, before returning to the task at hand. ”Well, it's about 90% responsible for my rather, ah...healthy transformation earlier.” he says, with a slightly embarrassed chuckle. ”To summarize it...it is a tonic I created with samples of my own Essence and blood which seems to promote the power of a beastkin's shifting ability, as well as augmenting their natural abilities. I'd propose it would have beneficial effects on non-beastkin individuals as well, but...that will have to come with further testing. For now, I am going to make it into medical tablets for later.”

Once he finishes stirring in the binding components, he takes it and pours it into the pill mold for them to later solidify. He goes over to the closet and grabs a new outfit. ”Now, let us go and make preparations.”

[Troperia—Briefing Room]

Andris's eyes returned to focus abruptly, and ve looked in Val's direction, giving a small smile and a tiny nod.

Yes, ve thought clearly—almost too clearly, vis capacity for focus causing ver to think it almost the way some people spoke too loudly and slowly to someone they weren't sure could understand them. Ve wasn't going to reply aloud, though, and disrupt the others. Ve had to assume that the psychic could sense the conscious thoughts. If not, well, the nod would get the message across clearly enough.

I'm still very unfamiliar with this ship and its inhabitants, so I'm compiling what I know and, as it were, indexing this new information for future reference. I find myself in a lull between missions, so—for lack of anything better to do while Silas recovers—I'm looking for problems that need solving.

Lounge

Christopher takes the gloves which are more than definitely huge for him but still, using them so his hands didn't feel too cold, they allowed him to hold and ice figure. With a smile in return and a cheerful smile. "Thank you Mewwick."

The origami bird seems to continue its fluttering around, flying somehow as it goes towards Merricks little animal friends and flies before them.

Biolab

Kyerine bounces around the table quickly to Nebris and takes her hand immediately upon being asked to with a smile. His somewhat cold hand, like that of a piece of metal or pottery. He gave a bright look before looking at Mireille looking confused. "By Dr Mireille I didn't. Nebris already said she wanted to. Kyerine just not want her to be scared."

Amos's Room

Munch, munch, Russell noms on a couple more cookies before replying admittedly with his mouth full. "It's food. Its yummy and I don't know how to cook." He responds justifying his cookies.

Then Amos says about going to the lounge and he pushes himself up off the bed, sweeping a hand across where he just sat in a attempt to get crumbs off; which partially works but Russell cant even see them he's just hoping he got them all. Then looking back, ration box in hand.

"I'll come." He responds, this time without a mouth full of cookie.

"Well, a lot of our food is engineered to get the most nutrition out of it. Which tends to make most of it taste like cardboard, unfortunately." Amos answers. "I get its designed to be processed and used more easily by our bodies and augments but...it's just bad. And seems kinda pointless to me, really. I eat tons of non-processed food and my body is fine. I've got the physique of a guy that runs track or something." He continues. "...Of course, I can't actually run a track if I needed to, but...still.

Russel listens having closed up the box of snacks for now and just following along, his head looking around and clearly listening out for different sounds as he did, just more focused than normal perhaps due to the adjustments to his implants.

"That sounds gross. I throw up at with the processing most 'fresh' stuff gets put through." He complains a little, making a joking vomiting motion. Then a smirk crosses his face. "Can't run, can't dance, better leave it to those of us better at it."

[Kepler-22b—Ydra, the Floating City]

"Tomorrow is the time. The protests will provide the perfect opportunity."

"I thought we weren't going to kill him," the silver-haired woman said.

The glimmering blue face on the screen moved from side to side.

"No, that won't be necessary—I'm sure of it now that I see how well our plan has worked. He has no supporters left. He'll flee or he'll die, and we don't need to lift a finger. I thought you might like to be there to twist the knife, though. An eye for an eye, as they say."

The girl's expression darkened. "Fine. What do you want us to do?"

"Whatever you like. I've arranged for you to have an access point via the basement maintenance corridor. Obviously you don't need any help getting in, but there will be no one between that corridor and the President's executive elevator. You'll be able to walk right into his office during the three minutes following my signal."

The silver-haired man shook his head, his one eye staring at the wall.

"Two minutes and forty-two seconds at most," he corrected.

"I was rounding up," the face on the screen said, tilting to one side as if in a shrug. "Are we agreed? You don't have to do anything. We could get offworld tonight and this would all still go off without a hitch."

The woman shook her head. "No," she said, glancing at her brother. "No, I want him to know it was us."

"Then it's settled. You'll infiltrate the building as discussed, on my signal, tomorrow afternoon."

"What's the signal?" the woman prompted.

"Just listen for the explosions."
