Shuttle to the Ship

He shoots Whistler a very displeased look, yet restrained still. His foot taps slightly, quietly, not in an attempt for attention.

Then he looks over to Kimiko and nods slowly. A tone quipped with annoyance yet not directed at her.

"I indeed am, though I will acknowledge others do not follow the tenants of the old ways."

He pauses for a moment before letting out a clear and voluminous sigh. His vocal tones adding a darker, one less annoyed however it would seem.

"Simply let me present that, this is not the first time I've heard of individuals declaring themselves gods or godlike. The previous time was not a- pleasant affair."

Lohke's nest

As the temperature drops the webs start to stiffen, locking Torvohk's knife in place in one sense but also making it rather brittle and with a tug it'll probably crack and shatter the surrounding webbing that doesn't seem to handle the cold temperatures well at all.

Lounge

Christopher shakes his head. "No I no wanna eart worms silly." He responds sticking his tongue out.

"Ooooh look there! I smell spawlgetti!" The boy excitedly points out a pot on low heat that... Your pretty sure that wasn't there a moment ago. Of course could have been mistaken... Inside seems to be a loverly made dish of spaghetti and meatballs in a fine pasta sauce.

Arboretum

"Dr Mirelle is a great scientist. She been teaching me things 'bout biology. She been studying my cat-side too!" Kyerine informs, waving his long tail before Nebris playfully. It wrapped around him, not even needing to turn.

Mireille gave a slight warm laugh "Haha, yes, I'm a doctor, Xenobiologist to be exact. And sure you can. Just be careful in there, some of my equipment is quite easily damaged."

Alexander - Waiting Room

"Just a little rest. This is pretty much akin to him going to see a dentist. Just make sure he doesn't overdo it for a couple of days, and the micro-surgeon shot we gave him will take care of the rest. Shouldn't even have much scarring when all's said and done," the nurse says with a small smile.

Alexander - Echirean Incubation -> Hangar

The route David takes is a little longer than the way they had come and requires an elevator as well as the initial tram, but in the end they come full circle, and stand nearby the Troperia. Before he can go, however, David attempts to give Rakiri a small, rectangular device with what looks like a touch sensitive button on the front.

"I can't stay with the Troperia past here, for various reasons. But I want you to give this to Tom when you see him, all right?"

Mitch observes the web becoming brittle. "Huh, I think it's working. Try pulling your arm out." He says to Torvahk, expanding his refrigeration to his web-coated armor and the rest of the blockade.

"Alright, thank you. I can help oversee his recovery, if that's necessary." Val says.

Shuttle -> Docks

Peter opens his mouth to say something to Robin, but than retracts his words before they come out. He looks back at Chris, petting him. "You know, in some time, we'll probably be eligible for that program where they reverse aging every few years. Do you think you'd want that?" He asks rather quietly, though still audible to the others.

He looks back to Robin, this time having thought out his words better. "Care to explain what old ways you're talking about?" He asks, as the shuttle is about to arrive at the docks.

Lohke's Nest Entrance:

Torvahk did as Mitch suggested and tried to pull his arm out of the webbing. Initially he tried giving a light tug, but had to resort to pulling as hard as he could tax the exoskeleton motors...well, he thought he needed to at least. If the webbing shattered, Torvahk would discover a small chunk would still be attached to his arm, and that his hand would still be stuck gripping the handle of his knife. If not, he'd be pretty tired to say the least.

"It is the faith, the doctrine of my worlds. I would rather defer from speaking further about such, I am no Priest and I fear I would only do it an injustice currently. Regardless it seems we've arrived."

Robin responds strictly yet with unknown motive, dodging the question. He stands, immediately running a hand along his cape to push it back and to the side. He awaits the others disembarking the vessel and leading the way ahead.

Kimiko looked up at Robin and stood. "So you believe in a creed you can't - or won't - even properly articulate?" She asked, bluntly and with a rather accusatory tone. Sarai laid a hand on Kimiko's shoulder. Kimiko looked back at her. Sarai gave her a firm glare, as if to tell her to shut up. Kimiko shook her head, and turned back to Robin, looking at him expectantly.

The entire web seems to shimmer as it seems to harden and freeze up. Not watery icy but just becoming this brittle mesh.

As was already said, Torvohk pulling upon it, the web attaching to his arm does shatter.
Torvahk indeed may discover a small chunk would still be attached to his arm, and that his hand may still be still stuck gripping the handle of his knife.

While Torvahk was relieved to see that he was finally freed from the webbing, he discovered to his dismay that a small chunk was in fact still stuck on his forearm, and that he was stuck holding his combat knife. He wasn't sure if he looked ridiculous, unintentionally threatening, or both, but regardless it would still pose a bit of an inconvenience to say the least. Peter keeps to himself for the moment, wanting to maintain some modicum of politeness as he walks out of the shuttle, but his expression nevertheless says that he at least somewhat agrees with Kimiko's sentiment.

Naming the guy Jackson was Chris' idea, I swear.

Knossos - Roughly 14 Years Ago

Peter starts running straight for the stairway down, but spots more men across the hallway, and turns back before they hear him. He looks for an alternate exit on another side of the building, finding the edge of his vision becoming unfocused as he speeds and turns several times. A young man peeks out a door and waves for him to come inside the room, whom he recognizes as the new janitor who was hired a few months ago. He seemed unremarkable, aside from a short scar running down his eyebrow. Peter looks back and forth the neighboring hallways hesitantly, before going in.

"Hey. First of all, don't worry, I'm not with them." The young man speaks quickly.

"How do I know you're not-" Peter starts, but cuts himself off when he sees Chris standing nervously.

"I'll let him explain some of it."

Chris looks to the janitor for a bit, then to Peter, then finally staring hard at the door as if willing it to stay closed, before finally beginning to speak, his voice cracking a bit, "Percy... Jackson here came to find me a few minutes ago...said you were in trouble...he says he was sent to watch over us by someone called Tatyana, he seems to think I'll be able to help somehow... I don't know much more than that, but I'll do what I can to help you."

"We help protect people like you, among other things." Jackson adds, filling the details. "Figured a powered orphan or two would turn up eventually." He gives a crooked smile, suggesting shadier origins. "Before you ask again, here." He takes out a couple of photos from his pocket depicting Tatyana and some of her underlings, giving them to Peter. "I'll help you escape."

He looks back and forth at the pictures, Chris and Jackson. "What about Chris and the other kids?" He asks the latter.

"I'll return here after you're safe." Jackson answers, pulling out a thick cloth mask, and putting it on. Peter goes to the door, before turning back and taking a long glance back at Chris.

"I'll be fine. I'll keep in touch. I promise." He reassures him and gives him a quick hug, before letting go. Peter nods quietly, tears welling up in his eyes which he quickly wipes away, then walks out the door with Jackson.

Lohke's Nest Entrance —> Lohke's Nest:

After Mitch removed the knife that was frozen into Torvahk's talon-hands, the chunks of frozen web that were stuck to his hand were weakened enough to shatter to pieces, freeing his once-frozen hand. Torvahk took a moment to make sure that he could still move his digits and grasp before saying, "Powers yours, impressive quite." He then followed Mitch inside the giant insect's lair. While Torvahk still felt cautious about forcefully revisiting the creature, he thought it was only right to at least try and make amends for his previous actions. Had he known that Lohke was viewed as a pet and/or a friend by other members of the crew, he would not have treated him with such irrational suspicion.

He takes a deep breath while his fist clenched a few times, exhaling deeply. Taking a half-breath pause before responding to the accusation.

"My apologise if I am unable to recite over two thousand pages of my people's written culture and beliefs from pure memory, especially on immediate notice."

His eyes wander over towards Peter as they walk. His expression seemed to be just that of a polite smile that seems to waiver to a regretful frown.

"Clearly it is an area I must have slacked in my studies. Furthermore it perhaps seems my wish to avoid discussing such a heavy and personally invested topic, my most personal of beliefs within moments of meeting you all has caused offence to both members and future members of I crew I DID wish to travel with..."

His head bows very slightly, steps slowing before fully pausing. Eyes return up, the regretful frown still on his face. Yet it was a look he attempted badly to cover up. The look, ones attempt to look stoic, and flat. The Prince says no more for the immediate moment, simply remaining paused and letting the others continue on without his company.

Kimiko sighed, and shook her head angrily. "What, so you think that rote -" She was cut off by Sarai forcefully yanking her shoulder, spinning her in place.

Sarai's expression, to most, would be that of utter impassiveness. Kimiko knew differently, mainly because it was something Sarai had inherited from her. "Kimiko. Stop. Talking."

Kimiko brushed her off, and turned back around, picking right back up where she had been interrupted. " - recitation and memorization is the key to belief?"

Sarai sighed. Kimiko was ranting. Kimiko continued, "I can't take offense to your beliefs because I don't know what they are. And, frankly, I don't care, so long as they don't teach you to be an asshat to anyone around you! I do, however, have immense disrespect for people who simply follow blindly what creeds they are told, without being able to properly articulate them!" Kimiko looked, well, looked like she was about to cry.

Sarai laid her hand more gently on Kimiko's shoulder, and embraced her. Kimiko, very much holding back tears, leaned into her shoulder. Sarai looked at Robin. "Apologies. She's... not the most comfortable in social situations and easily misinterprets statements and lacks the tact to not act on it." She paused. "I do believe she misinterpreted your lack of volition to talk about your religion with a lack of ability to do so or malicious concealment."

Lohke's Nest

Entering into "Lohke's nest" as it were. A once empty, largish room on the second deck. It is covered in this sticky substance that makes walking inconvenient though doesn't really pose much of a risk to anyone unless they're particularly weaker than the average human; in which case they might potentially if they stay still for a few moments get stuck.

The room was covered in this fine mesh of webbing creating artifical walls, and almost furniture like essentially what you think its the start of makeshift shelves being weaved out of these threads then hardened.

It only takes a few steps in, turning the newly built corner to find Lohke laying there facing the opposite way right now seemingly excreting from small holes near his face this white good and weaving it like a loom with his mandibles and pedipalps. A crate of Terran apples sits near to him.

Having been following along so far, Russell has been hesitant to say anything to Robin or the newcommers. The kid just feeling a little out of place with how they look, cybernetic or royal. Petting Whistler alot however.

Hearing Whistler perk up Russell looks a little awkward but considering what Amos just told him about judging people, when he wouldn't want to be from such a short interaction. Hearing his new friend spoke up was just the little push he needed to freely spill what was on his thoughts. "Hey stop it! That's a lot of stuff to remember... I couldn't do it! ..and does it matter? It's not like he hurting anyone right? Stop being mean to someone you only just met!" Not really understanding whats making Kimiko soo annoyed about Robin's words which were certainly working on him. Plus... Russell really didn't like seeing people fighting like this.

He purrs as Cor kisses his neck, and he eases him down onto his bed before reciprocating and targeting Cor's neck with a kiss as well. As he breaks the kiss and looks over Cor, he moves to start on something else...only for a sharp crack to sound out and the legs of Tor's bed give out, making the bed and them two on it crash to the floor, their combined (and mostly Tor's) weight too much for it.

Upon noticing the giant insect, Torvahk kneeled looking face down as a sign of respect before saying, "Lohke, name yours? Apologies mine for here being I am. Me you understand, know I do not...but for actions earlier, sorry say I wanted to. Threat you were I thought, forgot you about I did." Torvahk was not convinced in the slightest that Lohke cared for what was being said, if he could even understand any of it. Still, he felt a bit better of himself addressing the fault of his actions, even if they seemed justified at the time due to ignorance. Whether this attempt at an apology was accepted would be entirely up to Lohke.

"Brother," Yachesa said for the third time. Her brother blinked, turned his head to regard her.

"Yes, sister?"

"I said, we should explore."

"Does that seem safe?"

"I'm bored. And I decided the people here are nice. They might be dumb grown-ups, but they're nice."

"I like Mitch," her brother said. Yachesa grimaced, but nodded.

"Let's go find him," she said. "There's a speaker by the door."

"An intercom," Yachesen corrected. "Who does it go to?"

"Does it matter?"

"I suppose not."

The girl approached the console by the door and pressed the call button.

"Hello?" she said, louder than necessary. Her voice was relayed into the ship's network, but of course the twins had no idea who would be hearing them; perhaps only the ship itself. "Hello?" she repeated.

Lohke doesn't seem to respond at all for a while, just stay weaving its goop like a loom. It then slows, pauses, and exhales some reddish liquid all over it that seems to make somthing steam and fizz, then starts to do somethings else. After a few minutes, arcing itself around in whats kind of a 3, well maybe 7 point turn.

Approaching and attempting to placing something in Torvohks hand. If he accepts it, it seems to be a model of Torvohk maybe 30cm tall. Not super detailed, but it's clearly him and his stuff. The model seemingly made from calcified version of whatever this substance Lohke produces is, turned a slightly pale shade of red and seemingly hardened solid, non-sticky.

MMS- Cernunnos - Deep void [6 Months ago...]

Epilogue - Thirteen's new world.

<the magnetic super-collider functions at a wavelength equal to the cube route of five or one, point, seven, zero, zero, nine, nine, seven, five, nine, four, six, six, nine, seven, zero, five, six, one, five...>    A monotonous mental drone, circuits firing numbers calculated, lights sparking, welding firing.

Mountains of data flowing past the boys consciousness, the power of the entire ships super computer. A beautiful sight. A terrifying sight. A stream of noise and information... Its soo much.,.. Soo much...

The ship itself, dark in a void. Systems under repairs by drones using what supplies are available. Many subsystems offline. The reactor stuck in emergency mode, little power to divert to critical systems, let alone subsidiary repair ones.

Within a single room lights continued to glow brightly. Though not from the ceiling, but from monitors and from the cracks in a now-metallically sealed pod, a bluish light glowing from the liquid-coffin Thirteen currently resided.

A monitor on the side of the room tracking vitals, slow-heart rate, low-blood pressure. Hundreds of warning lights and signs. The detonation of the station hit hard, the place wasn't damaged but the systems were not ready. There was not enough supplies aboard either, systems were running low.

Yet worse of all, was the control station. It bugged, it jittered a strange set of tones played... The system's true VI, on the fritz, broken, damaged and now... Overwhelmed. The boys circuits fired. The VI was not re-configured yet, much as was warned could happen, Thirteens brain was struggling to remain in control. The presence of the computer was too much for him at this state. It was like a thousand, tens of thousands, perhaps even more voices, screaming voices all in unison, all seeking aid while he remained powerless in the center of it all, being reminded of everything.

He was alone, a void of numbers. No control. No contact. No sensation. Simply the data. The data, and his own mind... Almost like a video it played. Echoed. Repeated. Seeing a brief glimmer on a camera of Austin dead. Of the station destroyed. All the boy lost. The data showing inefficiencies. Problems. Mistakes. Things the boy could have fixed but didn't, he didn't know. He wasn't able.... Circuits firing, tears rolling from the effectively unconscious body in the pod, not that you could tell with the liquid already present...

It was a gamble... It might have saved his life but Thirteen was lost, stuck, fighting his worse enemy. His own head, just this time. The VI incompasionately processed in the background, calculating, processing, analyzing every thought like a constant person over his shoulder, in his head, telling him where he could have been better, what he did wrong, how all of this was his fault... The VI treating him like he was simply another program on the system that needed optimizing...

The ship meanwhile silently floated in the endless void... Floating... Waiting... Power ticking down... The boy trapped, control lost... Not that i'd make a difference. Even if the sensors were working and installed, they couldn't penetrate the mist of debris that constantly bombarded the ships superstructure... It was only a matter of time before something broke. Be it the ship, or thirteen entirely falling as simply a fleshy vessel for a VI that doesn't know better...

Torvahk was initially perplexed by what seemed to be a lack of a response from Lohke until he was given the unexpected model of himself. Both confused and curious, Torvahk took the model and examined it, turning it around periodically to examine what he thought was a detail here and there. "...Thanks?" Was all Torvahk was able to say, completely taken unaware by what just happened. On the one hand he was grateful that Lohke didn't seem to have any hard feelings toward him, but on the other hand Torvahk had no idea if his actions were being forgiven, forgotten, or ignored.

Dominic quickly notices that Matthew is gone, though since he’s still clearly present in the mindscape, he figures he couldn’t have gone too far. He concentrates back on the remaining pieces of Silas’ mind, trying to pull them together before it’s too late.

Silas' Mind - The Arena

Light!Dominic opens his mouth slightly in surprise when he attack backfires. He goes invisible again a moment before the laser hits him – being non-interactive with outside light has the convenient side effect of making him temporarily immune to light-based attacks, including his own, though it costs him the opportunity to retaliate for the moment.

Dark!Dominic conjures a gravity well around Andris, trying to pin him down with the help of the tentacles. “Silas is definitely still here somewhere, but he’s barely hanging on.” He relays to the others.

Lohke's Nest

Izzie and Val guide Lex and Kijo out of the area and to a shuttle, which they take to get back to the ship.

Docks -> Airlock

Peter cringes when the argument escalates – despite his feelings, he doesn’t feel like debating about it. "Hey, do I need to knock some heads? Cut it out." He says confrontationally to both Kimiko and Robin, bringing out a bit of his former ‘thug’ persona.

He makes a slightly worried look in response to Chris’ answer. “Aww, ok…” He starts to nuzzle him as they walk to the entrance of the ship when he gets a message from the twins.

“Yeah, this is Peter. Who is this?” He answers Yachesa and Yachesen.

Knossos, Roughly 14 Years Ago

Jackson holds Peter under his arm as they scuttle through the hallways, grabbing a small gun hidden inside his jacket with his other hand. He spots an armed man down a corridor, who catches sight of him as well. Jackson reflexively points his gun and pulls the trigger, shooting an energy pulse at him and knocking him back to the wall. “Come on.” He guides Peter down the stairs to the first floor.

“That was cool!” Peter says enthusiastically.

“It works. Let’s just hope I don’t run out of battery power.” Jackson says with a shrug. The two of them continue towards a back exit, Jackson shooting several times along the way. They’re close to the door when they’re suddenly confronted by three more men. He knocks two of them out cold with his blaster, but discovers it’s run out of power the hard way when he aims at the third one. He moves to disarm Jackson, but he manages to punch him square in the head, and he drops to the floor.

“Damnit, it’s a trap. They were waiting for us here.” Jackson pulls Peter slightly by the arm, sprinting towards the door… when they’re swarmed by more than half a dozen kidnappers.
