Really civil that's just boring.

Firstly, hi guys. waves

Though on the topic of the shipping, I think it will be best if we see where the space-faring one goes first I think. It does amuse me greatly however.

Hey, nice to meet ya. grin

Also, yeah, that's a fair point. I gotta get ready for class now, but when I'm out later today, I'll post the information about the starting area. Hopefully, the game will be open in the next day or so, if not tonight.

Although given what Donis may detect from Michael, the potential for 'mixed signal' puns and jokes are infinite.

Oh god I didn't even think of those potential jokes. This is only going to go well.

Ok, back, with some information.

Here's the proposed layout for the ship we're going to eventually acquire.

Floor 1 (Top Floor): Observation Deck/Atrium/Arboretum
Floor 2 (Main Floor): Bridge, computer room, engineering room, engine room, weapons room/armory, research labs, reactor, security room/brig
Floor 3: (Crew Deck): Personal quarters, lounge/kitchen, training room/VR room, library, medbay, other recreational rooms
Floor 4: (Storage): Hangar and Cargo Hold

If anyone else has any suggestions/ideas, please share them.

Perhaps an armory and security room/brig. Never know when you need to imprison someone. Also with the number of scientist kinda people we need a lab. Also a medbay.

I do like the idea of a Atrium.

Oops, I meant to keep medbay on there. I deleted it by mistake. Those are good ideas. Lemme revise it a bit.

Hmm...I can't figure out whether to place medbay on the 2nd or 3rd floor.

2nd floor already has alot on it so I think the medbay would fit better on the 3rd floor.

The crew are on the 3rd floor too, so I think medbay should be there.

Also, I think weapons room includes armory.

I would rather like it if there could be an arboretum, perhaps connect to the atrium.

Well, seeing as I have no school tomorrow. Probably tomorrow morning. grin

Now for the starting location. It's going to be a spaceport. Seemed like a good place for a mishmash group like our characters to possibly meet. In general, it has it's bad spots, but it'd decent enough as far as criminal activities and is also a hub for traders and such. I'll broaden it a bit more when I make the initial post.

The time stamp says you posted that 1am. Does that mean that we're starting today friday or tomorrow saturday? So confused!

I would put the engines and the reactor near the storage hold, due to less lost time getting tools/parts form there. Same for the engineering room.

After discussion with Profbro (Baron Green), it's been decided to edit the floor names to be more representative of a ship, hence.

  • Upper Deck (First Floor): Observation Deck/Atrium/Arboretum
  • Main Deck (Ground Floor)): Bridge, computer room, engineering room, engine room, weapons room/armory, research labs, reactor, security *room/brig
  • Lower deck (crew deck / lower-ground floor): Personal quarters, lounge/kitchen, training room/VR room, library, medbay, other recreational rooms
  • Holding bay: Hangar and Cargo and other storage Hold

I would concur with you on that, Dark. Perhaps we could move the reactor and the engine room and the engineering room to a mezzanine section between the lower deck and holding bay? Obviously near the back of the ship, so it would only be a partial floor, instead of a complete floor.

Also, the Grav Unit has to sit somewhere, perhaps close to the reactor.

And the Arboretum probably spans more than one floor and could be something like a mainhub.

I would think the lower deck would be more a "main hub", since it's where people will frequent the most, seeing as that's the designated sleeping area. And the recreational stuff is there.

Also, I put the arboretum and atrium at the top, so they'd be more accessible to light since I was imagining the roof and stuff being glass.

We are in space. Ther is no guarantee the light will always come from above. Or that there is light at all. There should rather be artificial lighting (and given that this is the far future it will probably be natural).
