I was looking forward to the game when it was in development. Unfortunately... it's not good. The game is incredibly tedious but the ending takes the cake.

I saw this video on the game and it doesn't look all that great.
why's that?
The game doesn't add anything to spice up the formula after the first 2 hours making the whole thing repititive, not being able to do anything during the battles means they go on and on, losing stats by resting means you gotta grind again. All this accumlates leading to a mess that gets boring.
If you meant the ending, well it's basically "I'm you father and I'm also a Terminator for some reason now roll credits" and a very abrupt one while we're at it.

Officially coming to Switch.
From the PR:
As previously announced during #Hello Switch Event, the indie hit Punch Club is coming to Nintendo Switch on May 24th!
Now you must train hard, eat chicken and punch dudes in the face to earn your place in the Punch Club ranks, and discover who ended your father's life.

If anyone's been playing the game since release, or just recently - do the criticisms in this thread still hold up, or has the game been patched to become a more worthwhile experience? Or hell, has it always been more of an acquired taste with the prior responses being kinda salty?

The ending in particular needs to be beaten with a wet noodle - it's just dumb.
I think the "grind" is an acquired taste, and there's ways to mitigate it. It's particularly important to grind style points in preference to training your core stats, because core stats can be fixed at higher levels if you do it right.

A neat little game that's ut on steam. It's a time management simulator themed around boxing.
