Kazuma suffers the most since he's the main character.

The animation seemed fine to me. Did you mean the art? I found the art okay too, though slightly over-exaggerated.

I kind of feel that's the point; the dumb art kind of adds to the comedy for me.

The art adds charm to the anime.

I thought that was the joke. That they use all their budget for the explosions. I personally like it this way, it's amusing. The anime doesn't give a crap about impressing anyone with mind blowing art and animation, and I don't think it's required here. Because honestly all they're trying to accomplish is making a funny series, and they've succeeded. That's all that matters to me.

So from the looks of it, this season is going all in on the derp-faces, which I'm ok with.

I finally watched the season premier and it was a pretty clever way of doing what was essentially a recap episode. Even though the episode was pretty low-key, it really hit my funny bone. For the most part, I love comedy series with asshole protagonists. It's Always Sunny is one of my favorite shows currently airing. So whenever an episode start laying out all their flaws, it comes off all the more hilarious.

I didn't even notice it was partially a recap episode until after I had finished watching it. It's really clever how they did it.

I thought it was a direct pick-up from the last season, not a recap. Good way to do a recap regardless.

Kazuma even did a recap of the last season in narration, even if it was somewhat biased.

Whoa, that was one very effective and thorough lie detector.

Even if the animation took a hit, Konosuba's back in all its glory.

Darkness is still best character. And the second least fair-weather friend Kazuma has.

Kind of a decent start. Well, for the series. The Prosecutor was nice. And she's dramatic enough for a court.

Got around to watching the first episode of S2 finally, and it is still hilarious. The opening reel already had me grinning, then comes a cavalcade of callbacks, usually to Kazuma's detriment. That one zoom-in on a background character killed me. Killed me. Of course, let's not discount the main protagonists, who are still in top comedic form (unfortunately the same cannot be said for their visual quality).

I wonder how long Lalatina Darkness is gonna be away. I'm not gonna miss her much, frankly, so I'd actually kinda like it if Yunyun stays a guest party member for like three episodes or so.

Oh yea, the fucking background character being a witness was a pretty great gag. Not many series do that.

So episode 2 sees the "official" introduction of Yuyun. I really loved the dynamics between Kazuma and Megumin in this episode, especially the two trying to play chicken to see who would wuss out getting out out of the bath.

Not as hilarious as the first, but still a good episode for Kazuma and Megumin.

The other way around for me. Most of episode two had me laughing my head off, especially the coming of the toads.

The toad part was probably the weakest part mostly because it's a joke I already saw in Season 1.

It's weird how she manages to be equally slimy despite sharing it with both Yunyun and Kazuma.

I can't decide which of the two has more pitfull past.

Those monsters, leave Darkness alone! I can't believe they would go as far as to put her in a dress!

Okay, Aqua really should invest some of her skill points in attack.

Not having friends and wanting them, easily. Not having friends and not wanting any wouldn't be sad, though. And there's nothing wrong with eating bugs, as long as they taste good.

Kazuma had some real knowledge to drop in this episode lol.

I'd say the funniest moment of Episode 2 was the reveal of Megumin and especially Yuyun's pasts. That lonely birthday was hilariously depressing.

Episode 2: Megumin episode, so I'm pretty much guaranteed to love it to bits. Yunyun is the Crimson Demon icing on the cake.

Megumin accepting her role as frog bait was amazing, especially when you see she positioned her staff so the toad wouldn't be able to swallow her easily. Then the other two girls go up and down the frog's mouth... up and down and up and down...

Yunyun saves the girls from being used for slime fanservice. Then gets slimed up by Megumin in their duel. I love the crazy of this duo.

Kazuma espousing True Gender Equality. Harried harem leads, take note! He somehow ends up taking a bath with Megumin. Ponytailed Megumin.

Nothing but nonstop laughter from Megumin and Yunyun's flashbacks. I might have pulled something when that goddamn flower ran away from Yunyun. Holy shit. Kono Suba, I missed you so much.

Others odds and bits:

• Did anyone else see the little hole in Kazuma's boxers? Poor bastard
• I really like Megumin's deeper voice. She should get annoyed more often.
• "Some people will pay money to have a slimy girl all over them." Clearly this little girl knows more about deviants than Kazuma thinks.
• Megumin is actually keeping notes on her victories. This rivalry actually matters to her, whatever she says to Yunyun.
• Darkness is headed for a marriage interview or some crap like that, I guess.
• In the time Kazuma took to freeze the door he probably should have just ran up to it and locked it. But then Megumin wouldn't have thrown a hissy fit so it's all good.
• Animation improved in this episode. Hope it keeps to that standard.

Watching episode 3 right now. Aqua is having a severe case of This Looks Like a Job for Aquaman.

It's funny how the solution to the problem ended up being the start of it. It's like Aqua knew and exploited it and used to prove her usefulness haha.

It led to a surprisingly sentimental moment however.

And Kazuma discovers the one thing that we all hate......debt
