I just realized, not only did Alan Rickmen and David Bowie die in the same week, but also at the same age and same cause of death {Cancer}. Not a good year to be 69, huh? We've lost too many awesome people these past few years, and it's a shame to see Alan Rickmen being one of them. I'll always remember him as Severous Snape and Hans Gruber, the latter of which is one of my favorite movie villains. Rest in peace.sad

[up]Sweet.

edit

Watched that Metatron performance of his. Dogma is still the best religion based film I've ever seen and most of it is due to Alan Rickman.

[up][up][up]They died of different types of cancer, though. Bowie had liver cancer, Rickman had pancreatic cancer. Still, true, indeed.

[up][up][awesome]

Was it known Rickman had cancer?

[up]Nope. We also didn't know that Bowie had cancer as well (since both of them were never receptive to disclosing personal stuff, except to a select few).

Worth noting, too, that pancreatic cancer is one of the ones well-known for being extremely deadly, but also leaving the person in excellent health almost right up to their death. I still remember attending Randy Pausch's Last Lecture where he said that he would likely die within months, and then proceeded to pump out push-ups on the stage to show that he wasn't hurting from it, just dying.
