Teo nodded in response to Matthew. He'd healed enough kids who'd been negligent with their equipment to know how important upkeep was. "Man, it still seems so larger than life. Using real weapons, fighting real monsters, going on quests..."
He trailed off as he scribbled on the clipboard, making a note of the khopesh that Matthew was borrowing. "Have you been on one yet? A quest, I mean."
they/them || "Forgive me, regent of queer amphibians" - Lt.BGobKatie couldn't quite block Alison's strike, but she managed to deflect it enough to only make it a glancing blow. It stung a little, but she'd be fine. She followed up with a high strike aimed at Alison's right shoulder.
"Nothing really spectacular," Matthew responded. "A few cases of monsters roaming around. Had to serve as my granddad's emissary to Amaterasu once. That was fun," he said wryly.
Forward, boys! For God's sake, forward!"I'm not really the best marksman either, which is why I'm going to go practice right now. But first, coffee." Camryn walked briskly over to the coffee shop and stepped inside. Fortunately, there wasn't any line, so Camryn went right up to the barista and said "I'd like a small caramel iced coffee and a cranberry scone, please."
A few minutes later, Camryn walked out of the coffee shop, sipping her coffee and obviously feeling much better. "Right! Now that I have my go-go juice, shall we continue to the training grounds?"
“Not a promise, not an oath, or a malediction or a curse. Inevitable." - Taylor HebertAlison raises the spear to block, but the blow still startles her. She attempts to push the other girl's spear away from her.
Kora comes back, her arms full of more equipment then one would think she'd be able to hold.
"Ooh, Amaterasu? Inari told me she's kinda... " She trails off, trying to think of the word she wanted.
off the shits"Wow. I haven't gotten any yet." Actually, when was the last time I even left campus? Teo frowned, then shrugged it off. Maybe he'd get lucky once winter rolled around.
He turned back to the clipboard as Kora returned, noting down all the equipment she was carrying. At the mention of Inari, he looked up again with a raised eyebrow. "So both you guys hang out with your godly relatives then?"

Aicha waited as Camryn got her coffee, she noticed that she looked as if feeling much better after the coffee. "Yeah sure." She began walking again. "So, you ever were on monster hunts or stuff?"

"One may feel fear in the face of danger so long as one banishes fear when danger actually arrives""Nah. At least, not yet. Gotta control my powers more first." Camryn took a bite of scone after saying that.

"Oh, how so?" Aicha tilted her head curiously upon hearing that "What do you have for powers?"

"One may feel fear in the face of danger so long as one banishes fear when danger actually arrives""Well, my dad's the Māori god of storms and weather, so that lets me shoot lightning and make mini-tornadoes and stuff like that. I don't have a lot of practice with any of that, though."

"Ah, I see, seems your powers are way more 'hands on' than mine *Giggle* Don't worry if about inexperience though, if you practice them enough you'll be great." As they walked further the Training Grounds could now be seen in the distance.

"One may feel fear in the face of danger so long as one banishes fear when danger actually arrives"Between Giove's Pizza and the Training Grounds
Logan was having one of those nice, relaxing mornings where he had nothing to do and nowhere to be. For him, that usually translated to some music from Jet Set Radio playing through his headphones and a slice of pizza in his hand. As he walked and ate, he nodded his head in time with the beat, caught up in his own groove. Sure, this wasn't Maui, but he could certainly get used to the freedom he had out here. Not to mention the opportunities to train...
...oh, yeah, that was what he was going to do today. Hit the training grounds. Perfect timing for him to think of that, because not only had he wandered close enough to see them, he also spotted Aicha and Camryn up ahead. Thinking quickly, he pulled out his phone to pause the music, slid the headphones off his ears, and picked up the pace as he headed towards them.
"Hey!" he called out. "You guys heading for the training grounds too?"
Just pretend I wrote something witty here, okay?Near the Training Grounds
As they approached the Training Grounds Aicha could hear Logan calling out to them, she turned around "Yeah, I need to meet Matthew there, if he allows it I'll maybe train later. What about you? Something specific you want here?"

"One may feel fear in the face of danger so long as one banishes fear when danger actually arrives""Not often. They drop by sometimes."
off the shitsKatie takes one of her hands off her spear to summon a gust of wind to knock Alison off-balance, but in the process, her weapon gets shoved aside. If Alison can stay on her feet, she'll have an excellent chance to strike.
"Ra's probably the busiest god there is, actually," Matthew commented. "Every once in a while, though, he's able to dump the barge on Horus or somebody and drop by. It's a nice treat."
Forward, boys! For God's sake, forward!"Huh, cool. Madre doesn't really do the whole 'keeping in contact' thing." Teo was a little jealous, but he didn't hold it against his mother. Goddesses will be goddesses.
With a final little scribble he held up the clipboard. "Well, I should probably get this back to the bigwigs." He tapped the armour next to him, a lopsided smile on his face. "I'll, ah, keep mum about our little run-in if you do."

they/them || "Forgive me, regent of queer amphibians" - Lt.BGob"Huh? Oh, 'sup, Logan. I'm heading to the training grounds as well. Wanna come with?"
“Not a promise, not an oath, or a malediction or a curse. Inevitable." - Taylor HebertAlison is knocked off balance and uses her spear to keep from falling. While doing this, she kicks out with her foot to try and hit Katie in the leg.
"Why would you need to keep mum?"
off the shits"It's my first time in charge of inventory and the armour goes down like dominoes." Teo explained, backing off as he did so. He had to raise his voice for the last part to be heard. "Don't want the guys in charge thinking they put a bull in the china shop!"
With that he stepped out into the training grounds, which were now alive with the sounds of sparring. He took a moment to appreciate the cool breeze that had been absent in the armoury.
they/them || "Forgive me, regent of queer amphibians" - Lt.BGob"I was headed there myself," said Logan as he fully caught up to Aicha and Camryn. "You got someone to spar with already?"
Just pretend I wrote something witty here, okay?Near the Training Grounds
"Well not spar per-se, more protect, just celebrated my 13th Birthday, so starting from this day I'm the bodyguard of Matthew, in the same way as my Father protects his Grandfather. Guess you could say our families are linked by tradition." Aicha smiled "What about you?"

"One may feel fear in the face of danger so long as one banishes fear when danger actually arrives""Oh, okay! I'll keep quiet then." She gives him a smile, before picking up the equipment for repair and heading off to the smithy.
off the shitsKatie takes the blow to her leg and winces, but stays upright. She lines up a thrust from above at Alison's side. It's an awkward angle, so there won't be much muscle behind it, but it might be tricky to block given Alison's position.
Forward, boys! For God's sake, forward!(Hate double posting, but we need to get this party started)
At that moment, a giant of a man showed up at the training grounds. His name was Adrian, and he was the son of Thor and a U.S. Marine drill sergeant, as well as a member of the Council in his own right. Needless to say, he had a booming voice, and when he spoke up, everybody listened.
"All right, looking for volunteers for a quest! There's a big flock of harpies that moved into the cave a couple miles down the road. They're too damn close to the highway, and we're worried they might start looking at cars as canned meals. Kill them if you can, drive them out if you must, but one way or the other, they gotta go. Any takers?"
Forward, boys! For God's sake, forward! Before the Training Grounds
Before Logan could answer Aicha heard Adrian (Though it was too far away for her to actually understand) "Huh, quick seems there's something going on there, lets hurry." With that she made a sprint to the rest currently in the Training Grounds.

Seeing Katie go low, Alison does as well- opening up with a low thrust in an attempt to unbalance her.
