For reference, the first Shrek costs 60 million. And that's without taking inflation into account.
Now known as Cyber Controller$60 Million in 2001 money vs $18 million in 2015 money.
And in all honesty, the visuals and amount they spent to make it wouldn't be that big a deal if they'd actually invested in a decent script and the trailers hadn't made it look so bad.
It's easy to forget, but the original reason that Pixar became so big with Toy Story wasn't that it was the first full CGI film, but because the movie they made with the first CGI film would have been a good movie in just about any medium. There was even a documentary I watched not long ago on the making of Toy Story where they pointed out that there was at least one review of the movie that made only a passing mention of the fact that it was, in fact, a CGI animated film.
I love The Nut Job. Magnificent movie, made my list for best films that I've seen in 2015. However, this looks bad.
Someone I know who saw the film said kids wanted to leave. And I don't blame em
I wonder if Jontron will cover this in a review
At this rate, this movie might reach Foodfight! levels of infamy.
"Pardon me, that extremely loud and extremely deep voice you may have just heard. It was me. Oh, it is such a long story..."I remember when this film was announced a few years ago (back when it was supposed to be done by Crest Animation, the same studio that did Alpha and Omega), and they showed this apparent screenshot of Norm as a cub.
It looks a lot more realistic than in the final film, though whether that would make the film's animation better or not is up to debate.
Does anyone know whether this is a real screenshot from an early version of the film, or taken from somewhere else (like one of those old Coca-Cola commercials)?

That looks like it came from one of the Coca-Cola commercials.
It's definitely from a coca-cola commercial.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?I knew it. The people running the sites probably thought "We don't have a screenshot, so let's steal from a Coca-Cola commercial!"
I didn't even know Rob was involved and I've wanted as little to do with it as possible.
EDIT: For whatever it's worth, if Wikipedia is anything to go by the thing only cost $18 mil to make.
On the one hand, it really shows.
On the other, they don't have to make that much money to be successful.
On the other other hand, even that may be beyond what it can accomplish, considering that the number of people who seem to have anything positive to say about it is next to nil.
