Speaking as a mod, I'd be happy to make a symbolic break with the old YKTTW and rename it as we rebuild it to be more functional and user-friendly.
Lost And Found has already been partially renamed to Trope Finder, and nobody seems to mind. You Know That Show is something that a lot of people seem to have trouble finding, so a rename seems reasonable.
There are times to argue for tradition and times to move onward.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Moved to Wiki Talk, on my own assessment this is less a technical issue and more a policy/culture one.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanSomething like Page Workshop for YKTTW?
And if Trope Finder works, why not Work Finder for the work counterpart?
Anyway, I definitely agree that with a site redesign a few renames is certainly appropriate, especially if there's confusion with the current names.
Check out my fanfiction! As the one who originally came up with the name Trope Finder (I'm totally modest, I swear), I do support Work Finder as a replacement for You Know That Show.
I'm a little leery of Page Workshop as a title for YKTTW, since that sounds a little broader than just page creation. I think given existing site terminology, Page Launcher would be my pick. Or if that's still too obtuse, we could be boring and just use Page Creator, but...
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)Trope Creation Workshop or somesuch would be better as the replacement name for YKTTW, since it's usually tropes that get made there.
on Work Finder.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Works Finder, though. Not sure people are looking for work when they want to find a show. We'll still get the occasional confused junkie looking for syringes and needles, but that could happen with any title, really.
For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong. — H.L. MenckenWorks Finder is good.
If possible, I'd like whatever title we come up with to replace YKTTW to be able to have a catchy acronym or nickname.
We do not create tropes. We create pages for tropes that already exist in media, and we name those tropes.
It's also better to not focus on a single aspect of it, even if it's the most used one, since that implies other uses don't belong there. There are enough tropers who don't know we can use YKTTW for creating work pages, and we don't need to add to that problem.

Hi Tropers,
You don't hear from me much, but I'm the project manager looking after the redesign of TV Tropes. While we are working on wrapping up the site redesign, I wanted to know the community's opinion on changing the names of some of the principal pages on the site. The only pages I'm concerned with at this particular moment is 'You know, that thing where,' 'Remember that show' and 'Lost and Found.'
How does the community feel about changing the names of these pages to something that is clear to a new user?
