Cid nodded in confirmation, remembering that no matter what Diceley wanted that tournament to happen. "Indeed, and our lovely female friend is quite correct - rare cards are the reward, though ones selected specifically to draw out the correct sort of audience."
He then looked at Hector, acknowledging at least that he was awake now, "However, being that there is danger expected, the Neo Action Field already comes equipped with security features. In addition, I would ask that you two participate and seek out people who seem suspicious. Hector, I will have to ask that you keep to the hospital we're coming up to until the danger is passed."

Ruben leaned forward, showing a fierce expression on his face, "Lets start with the fact that we've heard little or nothing from the school, and our friends keep on disappearing with no real definitive action!"
Bart nodded along with his close friend, wiping his hair out of his eyes in the process, and awkwardly adding on, "It's really unkind, y'know, to keep people in the dark about these kinds of things...I mean if you do know anything. If you don't, I'm sorry I'll shut up now..."
And with that, Bart went quiet, looking down at his desk.
The students by and large seemed to share the complaints of Ruben and Bart. When the social strata was as damaged as it was now, it did make some amount of sense that the leaderless would find a substitute leader.

The posting history of the guy with the Duelist Breaker Photos was a bizarre one. At first he just seemed like a garden variety troll, posting inflamatory comments about gay marriage and various causes.
And then just this morning he posted in all caps to six different forums; I'M SORRY
And then he just up and stopped posting until this came about. It seemed the photos were spreading across social networking sites. A woman in the coffee shop let out a gasp at seeing that on Facebook, followed by a young man cursing under his breath as he surfed Twitter.

Clay already having suspicions on Rueben and not liking his attitude decides to step in. "Don't mean to interrupt teach but I have a lead that the Duelist Breaker is in this class, Rueben."

Ruben looked utterly baffled for a moment, as if he was expecting something else, but certainly not an accusation this bizarre.
"He who presents extraordinary claims needs extraordinary evidence." He managed to state aloud, after that baffled moment.
A large number of the students stood up for him, waving fists angrily and accusing Clay of running a witch hunt. Some even accused him of being "Diceley's newest Dog."

"I never said it was you but it is kinda. That delinquent chick you duel with is the real one while you are the brains Ruben. Showing all that attitude makes me want to beat you right now."

Back after a long hiatus
Marcus cocked his head to the side. The hell is this guy on about? He decided to visit the nearest hospital to go see the guy who Bandage Guy fucked up, and to see if he knew anything about Bandage Guy.

Killian shaked his head at the chaos. People going missing... Couldn't they just be sick or skipping school? At least, that's the most realistic option. People should know not all of them are good at the card game to actively search it out... Though the accusation being hurled at the teacher of keeping his students in the dark was met with a frown. He WAS going to comment on it, before Clay opened the door without permission and suddenly started accusing Ruben of being an accomplice of the Duelist Breaker.
"CLAY!" Killian bellowed, raising from his seat and slamming the desk with his right hand. "If you have something to say, do it after class. But I will not let you stand there and accuse my students right in front of me without anything to back up your claim!" This got Killian very uhm... Angry, to say the least. Students accusing him, now that the guy's used to by now, but you don't touch the students. "Go back to doing your job, Clay. Unless you want me to report disturbing my classes for no good reason to the principal?"
"Okay then... I-I'm in," Amy said, though not without trepidation. This was big, no doubt about that.
"Are the cards dangerous? What if whoever's behind all this wins the tournament isntead of one of us, or at least someone nice?"
Since she didn't think her deck was all that good, it was something to be concerned about.

Jason noticed the trepidation in her tone. He could understand it. And he'd be lying if he said he didn't think it was a bit cute.
"Don't worry. I'll make sure nothing bad happens." Jason said to her. The he saw that the wounded person - apparently Hector - had woken up.
Hey, wait a second...How had Cid known Hector's name? That sealed it. This Cid guy was probably evil. But he didn't act like he'd notice anything. He'd just play it cool, and then the first chance he got, he'd grab this guy by the balls. Then he'd squeeze.
"Morning, sunshine. Up for a bit of VENGEANCE ?" He said oh Hector, completely ignoring Cid's orders. He turned to Amy. "The more people on our side we have in the tourney, the more chances we have to win."

The students looked at Clay - and the prevailing sentiment was after that bark that he'd gone spontaneously insane.
Ruben was relieved when Killian spoke up, though he wondered if, given the state Clay was in, whether he'd now accuse the teacher of being in leagues with the Duelist Breaker too. Moving along with the popular consensus, Ruben looked at Clay and stated evenly but with evident anger, "So you're accusing my girlfriend of being the Duelist Breaker...this is disgusting on so many levels."
Bart was just left sitting there looking almost painfully awkward, trying to keep himself away from the combative atmosphere. He gulped and tried to make himself smaller than he was, which was difficult considering his height and stature.

Cid nodded at what Amy was saying and smiled, "Hence why Mayor Diceley is presiding over the Tournament directly. If we can prove the person who wins is indeed a member of a hostile group, then rather than an ensemble of rare cards, he would march right up to arrest. The Goyo monsters the Arrest Corps use are quite good at that."
However it became obvious that Cid was not quite so enthusiastic about enrolling Hector in this plan. "I do not think it would be good to add an injured man to our group...he needs time to recover."
Likewise, Cid would wait until they were sure Hector's condition was stable before inquiring into the research papers.
The ambulance stopped, and it looked like it was time to move on into the hospital.

It looked like whatever was going on, almost five minutes after the posts were made, they were getting taken down.
As Marcus went off toward the hospital, if he kept a handle on what was going on online, he'd notice that other pictures were posted showing a strange emblem tattooed on a very thin wrist.
Amy helped Cid, Jason, and the paramedics with Hector, following them into the hospital. She still wasn't entirely sure whether she could trust Cid, but the tournament idea seemed sound, at least.

As Hector was laying down on his hospital bed, he slowly comprehended what Cid had said to him.
"Oh god, the tournament," he thought. "They choose now of all times to have a tournament. This is going to suck."
Then he remembered the girl who had saved her. He unintentially said something that he shouldn't have said to her, and because of that, she was now in danger. But then again, so would everyone else who attended the tournament.
But for now, Hector knew that there was nothing he could do. He just hoped that Cid would prevent anything bad from happening.

Clay remaining oddly calm nods at Killian after saying "You got it teach." In a very friendly tone and leaves the classroom.
Clay then decides to sign up for the tournament not caring that he just pissed of a lot of people.

This janitor was much more trouble than he was worth... Killian went to close the door behind Clay, and hoped that no further intrusions happened, though it seemed like the hour was almost over already. Sighing, Killian sunk back into his chair and raised one hand to meet his forehead. This wasn't going to be one of THOSE days, was it?
"Let's... Let's get back to the point." The blonde said to his class, turning and placing both his arms on the desk which was now in front of him. "You had complaints about the school leaving you in the dark, right? I understand you kids, but it's not like we have much of a clue either. Personally I can say that if someone does know something, they're doing a good job of keeping their mouth closed about it. Even I don't know what's going on, though if it's any consolation, none of us are willing to accept it either. The staff's talking about the issue about as much as you are, and at the end of the day, we're still human. All I really ask is that you try to not let the current events interfere with your classes, however hard it may be. Everyone's looking into it. If you're really worried, I'm willing to listen in the mid break or after school to your concerns." Well, that should be enough. Killian hoped.
"Since it's just a few more minutes until the bell rings, I'll let you guys off early. Just don't cause a ruckus in the hallway, okay?" With that, and a heavy sigh, Killian got up again to open the door. He was going to have to put some extra effort in next lesson to have these guys catch up on the material they missed out on, but making sure the students feel safe was a worthwhile endeavor in itself.

Cid went along with them, and after they got Hector up into the hospital room, he decided to be more open. "Alright, Hector, your research...what was the conclusion you were getting to? It might've been a part to play in why the Duelist Breaker targeted you."
He knew a few things, but there were some things only a researcher knew.

As soon as class ended and most of the students left, Bart walked up to the front and promptly seemed to start shivering, belting out a repetitious statement, "I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry...really, I am..."
He then quickly left, his gait awkward and it was clear that he still had bad coordination due to his height.
Ruben seemed satisfied with what Killian said, and left with a number of other students, listening in to them discussing how crazy that was that a guy barged in, accused someone of being an accessory to a dangerous guy and then barked like a dog.
He mostly kept to himself after that, but decided this merited talking to Annabeth...

Clay suddenly got a message in the form of what looked like a piece of paper left near his mop.
Opening it would show; Come out to the beachside for a real surprise after dark.

He found the note and opened it, his only thought "Finally some sort of clue." He decides to put in the pocket of "Purple Thunder" next to his deck.
He then decides to go the the teachers lounge and see what's up.

Marcus entered the hospital. It was kinda small, as hospitals went, but definitely able to treat all but the worst injuries or sicknesses. He went up to the receptionist and said "Hi, I'm looking for someone who was admitted today with wounds that look to be thorn-inflicted? I don't know his name, but I saw him earlier and I wanted to see if he was alright."

Jason was confident in Hector. He figured that what was most important was will to fight. He had a hunch that if Hector trained, he'd be strong enough to beat the duelist breaker. As they got Hector into the hospital, Jason hung back as he thought he saw someone familiar enter. Sure enough, it was the guy who had gone after the duelist breaker with him.
"Oh, hey! He's this way." Jason said, waving to Marcus. He headed for the room, moving a bit more swiftly to catch up to the others. "Never caught your name. Call me Jason." Jason said to Marcus as they entered the room.
"Oh crap," said Hector, "Did we really have to get more people involved? Aw fine."
"Okay, so I had hit a dead end in my research. I didn't know where to go from there. However, I noticed weird things about the duels, but then one day I realized something: the monsters obeyed the laws of physics. For example, if the monsters floated in the anime, they did not in real life. When making attacks with energy or the elements, the monster would "charge up" in a way. For example, if there was fire, the monster would spark inside, igniting the oxygen. From what it looked like with beam attacks, I'm pretty sure they use charge up electricity that connects to it's opponents."
"But for dark attacks, I'm pretty sure they are using a dark energy, but I don't know where they get it from. Further more, I realized that despite all of that, the monsters still appeared out of nowhere. I know that they had to have come from somewhere. But right after writing it down, I was attacked and forced to duel. Damn idiot gave away the conspiracy by doing that."
Well, at least that was over with. Bart's departure was... A little worrying, but it's probably just the stress from the situation. That kid's never had the most nerve, anyway... Killian packed up his stuff to leave, knowing that another teacher's supposed to use this classroom in the next hour. The teacher went towards the lounge to grab another coffee and chat to the others, not having any immediate work that needed to be done anyway...
...And met Clay again. Isn't that guy supposed to be doing his job? Well, it's not like the guy had any knowledge of the janitor's schedules. Even if he's been working here for a few years now. Deciding the best course of action was just to ignore Clay, Killian went over to the machine to grab himself another cup. One of this place's perks was free coffee for the staff, and honestly, Killian's glad that it is one. He waited for his cup to fill, scanning who else was here in the room.
"Maybe the Shadow Realm or Duel Spirit World is real," Amy joked. It wasn't a very good joke, but it was the only thing she could think of aside from the cards somehow containing worlds of their own.

Hector replied "Well, there is a possibility that the Monsters are from alternate dimensions. What I believe is that whatever the bandaged man is associated with has something to do with this."

Marcus nodded. "Name's Marcus." He smirked at Jason. "You're actually pretty cute." He decided to let these guys do their thing and interject where necessary, since they apparently knew way more than he did.

Cid looked over as Marcus entered as well, joining the group heading up to Hector's hospital room. The young man considered how large this group was getting, and whether this meant that Marcus was unofficially deputized too. This was getting more expansive than what he initially thought things would be like.
Though when he heard the results of Hector's research he supposed this validated some of the ideas he had.
He chuckled a little at Amy's joke, with what he knew it was more of a bittersweet laugh.
"Thank you Hector," Cid started, "...your research results are indeed something our foes might be interested in. By this point going by how things are proceeding, they might be more open."
Considering the motions Congress was going through, was there a possibility outlawing the game likewise fit into these peoples' scheme?
"Alright, I suppose I need to be a little more forthcoming now. Namely about the name and nature of one of our foremost enemies."
Killian was rubbing his temples in frustration for half this lesson. Nobody was paying any attention... And it's pretty obvious why. Well, this was going nowhere anyway. Even if he tried to do something now, chances are nobody would remember all this stuff by the time they needed it. "Well, this just won't do, will it?" Mr. Rayne cleared his throat.
"Listen, everyone. I know you're worried about your friends. I can't say I'm not. You can close your books, we'll continue this lesson later. I'll make an exception today. Why don't we talk about what's on you guys' mind?" The blonde was too soft for his own good, but clearly this was getting nowhere. He dropped into his seat and leaned back, lazily glancing over each of the faces.
