Goodness that Volpina episode did a number on the fandom, but since I'm new to Miraculous Ladybug I don't care about this character at all. She could be absent from the rest of the series and it wouldn't matter to me at all. I'm glad I wasn't part of the hype.

Let's just say that Volpina didn't turn out the way the fandom was mostly hoping, but that's what happens when you hype up a character that hasn't appeared yet. Course it doesn't help that her character was revealed far too early. Another big reason is because she got in the middle of the OTP of the show.

So with recent Korea episodes that;s means we finally seen Marinette's and Adrien's classmates evilized. Next season is gonna be rather interesting
Dunno who will be akuma-tized now. But I wonder if anyone will point out that Adrien and Marinette are the only two who haven't in the class.

Hawkmoth can pretty much use anyone who has one bad day, so basically anyone in his range.

True, but they've always been connected to Marinette and Adrien in some way. Really hoping Hawkmoth doesn't go for Marinette's parents.

Stormy weather was probably the only one. The Pigeon man was introduced in the same area and Marinette watched him feed the pigeons before he got akuma-tized so it kinda counts. With the exception mostly of Stormy Weather,one of them is at least in the same vicinity as the akuma villain of that episode at least. Heck wasn't Marinette watching the weather girl contest on television at the beginning of the episode?

Yeah that does seem a little suspicious now, Makes me wonder if Hawk Moth does get control of either of them at a point (though the Evil Counterpart gimmicks had been used on Antibug and Copycat.)

There are still plenty suspects to see akumatized: principal, both teachers, mayor, Chloe's butler, both Adrien's babysitters, Marinette's parents, Stormy Weather's rival....I have hopes for principal Damocles and Ms. Mendeleiev, they have faces of supervillains.
And about Volpina...I really like how it went, I was so sick hearing of her. Everybody assumed she will be part of team, and have every shipping combination with main duo, and will be sooo smart and strong.
And even when people heard she will be just another akuma victim, they still assumed that she will be strongest one yet, and that she will resist Hawk Moth's influence when she will be close to hurting anyone and then get her own miraculous. Ugh. And the best thing even, she turned out to be master of lies who pretends to be awesome and she fakes being miraculous superhero. Now all these marysuish headcanons sound now like something she could come up with herself, it actually made stumbling into them all the time worth it. I have really petty satisfaction to watch them burn and I can't even mind how much of wimp Lila turned out to be. And kicker? Canon! Lila/Vulpica is much more interesting character than any headcanon I've ever heard.
I definitely agree about Volpina, I don't know why people wanted her to join in the fighting, that would've been way too early, the dynamic with Chat and Ladybug works well right now and a new hero would just get in the way. I personally was kinda hoping she'd take a more Catwoman/black cat like role but I'm fine with what we got. People are still assuming though that she'll be super important somehow but I'm not too sure about myself.
You know I think I heard that Thomas Astruc doesn't want either of the Miraculous heroes to get Akuma-tized, so if it doesn't happen we know why. I don't think it'd be a bad idea and it would make for an interesting plot but I can kinda also see why he'd prefer them to stay heroes, though I don't know how it would be too different from what Chat has already been through 3 times now.

Okay so 'connection' isn't the right word, I dunno how exactly to describe it but the villain of the week is always someone that one of the heroes knows, sees, meets, encounters, interacts with, etc. I find that interesting, but I guess 'connection' is too strong a word and doesn't really work meaning it could be anyone.
Course we dunno exactly what they'll be doing with the plot next season

It being on at that time is perfect for viewership. I barely ever watched Nick's Saturday morning programming because nobody watches Saturday morning cartoons anymore.
