CoLC crossover RP, main thread

Screaming in incoherent rage, Morty slammed one fist into the doorway and considerably widened it. Bits of plaster and broken bricks showered down around the group as the genetically-engineered humanoid smashed his way into the main fracas.

"Oh boy." Rick frowned as he poked his head in after his grandson, who grabbed a chair and flung it at the nearest moving thing. "Maybe I overdid it."

Cole nodded a little, looking at the bag that Arcade was holding, tilting his head to one side. "That is good, then. You will be able to talk to some people without us both being unable to communicate. ...as long as you can still talk to Eve, that is all that concerns me."

Cole stared at the shelf next to him, tilting his head a little, then reached out to pick up a jar of something brown, turning it over a time or two, trying to decide what he made of it, before holding it up to Arcade. "What does this say?" he said, offering a very plain label that simply said "hazelnut spread" to the older man.

Hercules sighed when he heard Caboose call him “Heracles” but he had to let him know it was him. “Yes Caboose it’s me, Hercules, I’m right here beside you.” He said to Caboose walking up to him pretty much answering his question, he saw Caboose trying to move but to no avail his arms and legs were all frozen into position no matter how much Caboose tried he couldn’t move an inch. “Goodness me you can’t move at all. And you say you can’t see either?” Hercules said examining his friend as noticed the visor was black though he did not know how Caboose’s armor worked but he did know that if he was immobilized and blind that would mean that he was a sitting duck if he got into danger. “Don’t worry, Caboose I’ll be your seeing eyes and I’ll get you out of this building in one piece.” Hercules said reassuring Caboose about his current predicament.

But before he could do anything else he then looked back as he then saw a terrible sight once Two had reached Ghostfreak she then stabbed him with her swords and now because of the girl he had seen earlier short circuited the electrics, Two was now being electrocuted and she was screaming and writhing around in agony and dropping down to the floor, dead. When he saw this he then yelled: “NOOOOOOO!!!” as he saw the sight of Two’s mangled body droop and then vanish from the floor. And he then said nothing more as the electric wave then flung away from where he was and sending him onto the road outside of the building. His body then skidded to a halt as he was then lying down on his back from the impact of the blast.

The damage was temporary and Herc was able to get up again but all he could think of now was that Two, the person he had just met had died and by now had a very sorrowful expression on his face about this recent development.

"Hey!" Louie's Steven Stone voice yelled in protest in the background.

"Ben, stop trying to deal with everything on your own! You're the one who made the team, so why do you keep acting like a lone wolf?!" Thomas' new voice said over the channel in a frustrated, harsh tone. "We're not part of the knights to sit on the sidelines, Eve. I don't need my magic to have ways to fight, and you have no way of knowing how tough Ghostfreak is compared to Louie because of how this day works" the young wizard pointed out, not sounding deterred.

The ghost unit stood there, staring up at Lewis, and tilted its head a little bit to one side. "You sure about that?" the ghost asked, without making any more movements. "I know what you're thinkin'... Johnny number five, is not alive" it then commented.

Adam just kind of laid on the floor clutching himself and groaning after all that; Kelsey was shoved aside by Zs'Skayr's hand, though the interruption of Two had kept the blow from being as hard as full strength. Even so, in the body she now had, Kelsey surely had to be in quite a lot of pain, and was probably bruised badly, with maybe some broken bones. Yet, she didn't hesitate to start getting back up to her feet, and turned to face Zs'Skayr as he moved towards the doorway.

"YOU'RE NOT GETTING AWAY!" Kelsey screamed murderously, and charged forward before swinging the chainaxe into an overhead throw towards Zs'Skayr's back with all the might she could muster. Not as much might as she'd like, since her new body was younger and not as athletic as she normally was. The chainaxe's engine still roared even as it left her hands and got right into the path of Captain Kidd's attack.

... Outside, there was a new set of footsteps approaching, but slowly, methodically. Those who were around during the first few days of the city's existence could possibly recognize Legion the geth approaching, futuristic assault rifle held low as it walked with a gait that seemed somber, or brooding.

With a shrug, Arcade opened the bag and pulled out a chip, eyeing it curiously. It didn't look like anything he was used to, since any and all Pre-War chips would have been turned into crumbs before he was even born. Still, that didn't stop him from promptly eating it.

As he chewed on the chip, he said to Cole, "well, I've already learned one new language, so it wasn't going to be too hard to pick up on it anyway. Though, yes, that is convenient. And I'm sure it won't be too hard for you to pick up on Eve's language. You are a toddler, after all."

Cole apparently decided on something different. Some kind of jar of brown stuff. He held it up for Arcade, who stooped down and read, "hazelnut spread" out diligently.

"I guess it's supposed to go on other food," he surmised, "not sure what, though."

Radio Station

Lying on his back completely immobile and not being able to see, Caboose was even more confused about the situation than normal. He heard Two screaming and then stopping, but it didn't really mean anything to him because his brain wasn't the best at making connections.

"Hey!" the soldier exclaimed. "What is with all the noise? And who pushed me? Was it you Hercules?" Then Hercules yelled the word "no" very loudly. "OK I get it! I am sorry for accusing you!"

Gon, wondering why Rick just did that

"Great." Gon scolded Rick (If it was such a thing) for making Morty all mad with rage. He briefly stepped back a bit when he heard a lightning-type attack nearby. "We're already loosing the element of surprise."

Dammit. He shouldered his carbine and made sure that the safety was not used in case of an upcoming attack.

"I'm heading in." Gon said as he moved into the station, using the breached hole as the entryway.

Cole looked at the jar again, making a face at it, then held it up to Arcade again, clearly wanting him to open it. "What do you want to do after this? We could stay here all day, but there is some sort of challenge happening out in the city. It could find us at any moment, really."

Radio Tower- Accidental Crossfire

Makoto's Ziodyne spell collided with Kelsey's chainaxe, sending the lightning bolt off course and "harmlessly" out the door hole. While the Ziodyne failed to hit anyone inside, the chainaxe didn't take the sudden electrical charge very well and exploded a couple seconds later, sending bits of hot metal across the room even as it failed to directly strike Ghostfreak's back.

"What the hell? I had him!" Makoto yelled, looking back at the teenager in the black robe. Even as she momentarily stopped chasing her target, Captain Kidd was already in the process of lining up another shot, feeding off of Makoto's desire to fight Ghostfreak.

Placing the bag of chips on the floor, Arcade accepted the jar and started opening it for Cole. "That's a good point," he said, "the library is probably cleared of people right now, if you'd like to go back there. Otherwise, we could find a house to stay in." With a pop, the jar was opened, and Arcade handed it back.

"Thank you," Cole said, taking the jar back, peeking at the substance inside, sniffing at it a moment and making a face, clearly unsure what to make of it. "It...I don't know what this is like. ...we could go back to the library if you'd like. I know you'd like the books more. But a house would have beds. ...also didn't Miss Tairee give you books?"

He cautiously got a bit of the spread on his finger, scooping it up, then sticking it into his mouth, considering it for a moment before his eyes got rather large. "...this is much better than chocolate!" he said, holding it out to Arcade. "Try this!"

Even with a not-as-stupidly-resistant body as usual, Rex didn't take much of a beating from Ghostfreak shockwave. He was still standing and as such he was still ready to trash-talk him.

"Ah wasshnt dun hear" he slurred. "...waht?"

Suddenly it was getting hard to think and his tongue wasn't working properly. Everything was a little blurry and between all the sounds and lights going on around him, Rex had a hard time telling what the hell was going on.

Had Two just died? That's the voice he had heard anyway. Or well... you know, Cent's. But if Makoto's reaction was anything to go by, yeah. Ok that was pretty fucked up but she should have known better than to face a walking battery with metal swords. Then again thinking like that was being an asshole and it was hard to tell if a little bit of that wasn't fueled by jealousy, which again, pretty fucked up. So Rex decided to derail that train of thought, passengers be damned, and actually follow after the murderer.

A sudden explosion... somewhere near his vicinity—everything already looked blurry so it was hard to tell—made him trip and given that he wasn't actually going anywhere, he just groaned and gave up.

But a familiar sight made the effects of whatever was going on—seriously, was he poisoned? Electricity couldn't cause that, now could it?—a little more bearable. A metallic person with a blinding light on its head walked towards the scene. It was Legion, which of course meant it couldn't be him. Who could it be then? Well... probably a lot of people. It was impossible to know how many of his universe were here but the city liked spitting on people's faces and irony dictated the person using the body of the geth Rex knew could be none other than a quarian. Awkward.

"...oh no" Rex said, standing up again and slowly making his way to the AI. "Ahm sorry dood I was gonna tall to u"

"What? Oh, the books, right," in all the angst and drama, Arcade had forgotten about the books Miss Tairee had given him. He'd probably have to start reading that parenting one, he thought to himself.

"Anyway, I meant that the library would probably be safer, thanks to it being protected by a godlike librarian," he added. If it would keep Cole safe, it would probably be the better choice.

Surprisingly, Cole actually seemed to like the hazelnut spread, holding some out for Arcade. Well, he wanted to try everything, right? Curiously, he reached out and swiped some of the spread off of Cole's finger and tried it.

"Oh, that is good," he said, surprised. It was really good. It was just a spread, right? Wasn't it supposed to go with something? Why was it so good on its own?

"Well, it's not like back inside is perfectly safe either." I shrugged. "I can't really avoid it if a pyromaniac plant disguised as, I don't know, an astronaut decides to strike somewhere random...no, that's wrong, I could camp in the library and not have to worry but...I don't know."

I extended a hand to it for it to climb on, intending to stand up and start walking again after it climbed on or refused. "You're trying to goad me there, aren't you? I don't really feel like it, but I guess that's not much of a reason..."

The electrical pulse knocked Rean back, and he raised his arms up to protect his head in case anything else happened. There was a scream as Two got electrocuted to death, and then fell to the ground, vanishing. Rean stared at the bloody spot where Two once stood for a few moments, struggling to process what had just happened. Two had been kind to him earlier, letting him travel with her group despite being a total stranger and even lent him her scarf. And now she was dead, and she died pretty horrifically, too. Maybe if he'd still had his sword, or used his ARCUS instead of trying to use a weapon he had no idea how to use, she would have been fine. But once again, he'd taken the wrong action, and someone else paid for it.

Enough was enough.

Screaming, Rean cast aside Alisa’s bow and then charged at Ghostfreak. Or at least, he tried to, but the change in center of gravity from being in Alisa's body caused him to fall over instead of actually getting anywhere. A small explosion sounded above him as the chainaxe got hit by Makoto's attack. Rean slowly got back up again, and then made a second attempt at charging Ghostfreak. With a shout, he aimed a palm strike at Ghostfreak’s chest. If it hit, it probably wouldn’t do much because Alisa’s body was trained for bows, not punching. Still, Ghostfreak had recently been stabbed, so...

Cole looked into the jar again, looking slightly awed, before abruptly raising his gaze to Arcade, eyes going wide. "I know what we can do!" he said, sounding a bit excited again. "When I was here before with Sans, there were bags! We can bag food to take with us and then go find somewhere to stay! Come with me!"

He all but ran towards the front of the store, where the registers were, or would be, in a normal store, anyway, and looked under the counter, before grabbing a handful of the flat plastic bags, holding them up over his head triumphantly. "See! We can use these! Sans told me they were cheap and anyone could have them!"

Suddenly, Cole had an idea. He ran towards the front of the store, causing Arcade to hurry after him. The amazing thing he wanted to show off was apparently bags that anyone could use.

Curious, Arcade took one of the bags to examine it. "Are you sure these are useful?" he asked, stretching the plastic curiously, "it seems like it'd fall apart too easily. I guess that's why they're cheap, though."

There was no other way to describe what had happened back there for Hercules, Two had died right in front of his very eyes and all while they were trying to help out the nasty business involving Ghostfreak at the radio station. He couldn’t believe it, he just couldn’t believe his luck, first an argument between Rex and Eve in the Library and now this terrible display of Two being electrocuted. Now Herc wasn’t a stranger to people dying before as he had witnessed Meg getting crushed by a column back in his world, had to go up to Olympus to help his father Zeus deal with the Titans only to lose Meg just as he was returning to Thebes.

And he did bring her back from the dead and right now he really wanted to do something about Ghostfreak but considering he was in the form of his trainer, Phil that was going to be a big disadvantage to him also he was too grief stricken about the loss of Two to worry about him anyway so he decided to go back and try get Caboose out who would still be in the building on his back.

Herc decided to rush back inside the building and help Caboose out and get him to a safe location possibly far away from the radio station and away from the current battle that was happening right now.

Shenhua, Grocery Store - el Sol se Recuesta

"Aiya, these usually one-use."

Arcade and Cole were approached by a bespectacled woman in a maid outfit, meticulously conservative as befitting a proper household servant. She carried a briefcase and a parasol as well, smiling pleasantly. If not for a half-whimsical, half-callous glint in her eye, she could easily be mistaken for a harmless housekeeper.

...then again, there was only one person in this whole city who could screw up English even in presence of translating microbes. "Just make sure not put too much stuff in one, yes? These look really shitty." Of course, perhaps Shenhua's - now stuck in a body of that bitch in glasses, as Two Hands liked to call her - first question should have been why on earth this bear of a man wore rainbow pants and why his kid companion was in a rabbit hoodie.

"They don't seem like much but they are stronger than they seem. Sans and Caro put a fair amount of food into them to carry." Cole took two of the bags for himself, shaking them out to show how they looked. At that point, a woman approached them, looking...somewhat stern, but speaking in a friendly enough tone.

Even though she seemed nice, Cole still rather quickly moved to wrap his arms around one of Arcade's legs, clutching at him and watching her a little warily, one hand still clutching the jar of hazelnut spread.

Arcade startled slightly when a woman joined their conversation. Blinking, he tried to remember exactly where he had heard that odd manner of speaking before. He didn't have time to piece that together before Cole suddenly latched onto his leg.

"Uh, Cole?" he asked, "are you alright down there?" Was he just scared of more drama interrupting their breakfast? Not a bad guess, mind, but still.

Ben winced, clutching the walkie talkie a little tighter in his hand. He glanced at Eve for a moment, then back into the walkie talkie.

"I... I just.... Hm. Fine," Ben muttered. "We're doing this together. Don't let him use you guys as bait. We're gonna stop him as a team." He looked at Eve. "Got that?"

Ghostfreak glared at the screeching girl and kept moving to try and get away from her, before he heard the sound of an explosion. He turned and tried to run but the shrapnel from the explosion embedded in his back. He yelled out in pain, then grunted as he felt a punch on his side, which sparked and crackled as the hand came into contact with his still-shorted out body. He glanced over towards Rean, trying to shove him away with another backhand while continuing towards the door and trying to exit and escape.

He completely ignored the approaching not!Legion as he moved.

Chinese Maid, Grocery Store

It looked like she stumbled upon a boy and his legal guardian. As legal as it could get in this city, at least. "I mean no trouble. Just come here for snack, yes?" Here she gestured towards a candy bar she held in her umbrella hand.

"City fun like that; takes away best strengths all the time. Not that maid's body bad." Then, Shenhua presented a second candy bar, offering it to Cole with a smile. "Here, show of goodwill, yes?"

Cole stared at the unfamiliar woman for a moment, staying silent and keeping his gaze fixed on the offered candy bar. Finally, he reached out to take it, with the hand not still holding the jar. "You sound...familiar..." he finally said, tilting his head slightly.

The more the woman spoke, the more familiar she seemed to Arcade. Something about her was just sending up flags. Eventually, he remembered, and blurted, "aren't you the woman who kept calling me the gay doctor?"
