CoLC crossover RP, discussion

Here now, fully recapped. Well, while I will technically be pretty much freed up for the rest of the day like I said, it seems life was determined to load a bit of heavy stuff on me for me to think about, and also comes with even more unfortunate news in regards to me running the RP.

This year I'm finally going to be too old to be included on my parents' health insurance anymore, so I have to get something figured out for that. I found out that my work does have available health insurance options, but only for employees who are working more regular hours, rather than just part time like I've been. I'm expecting that even if work's health coverage doesn't turn out to be the best option for me, I'll probably still need to ask for more hours anyway just to make sure I'm bringing in more money.

Now I'm still determined to see this RP through to the end, because I made a promise to, and quite frankly I care more about it than I do my job. But, it could be that things might have to slow down a bit on my end as I have to spend more time working.

Anyway, I'm going to check on some things and then start working on a post relatively soon; I don't know how long it'll take me to write though.

I know that financial advice from people who don't know the details of your current situation is infuriating but seriously make sure you have health insurance. My uncle got rid of his health insurance once because he figured he wouldn't need it and then got in a car crash a few months later. He's okay but from what I gathered from other family members, he was wiped out financially with the medical costs. Besides, it's been slow before - doesn't make it any less fun.

Just in case there's any doubt, I don't intend to actually describe Calvin and Melanie making out and getting to second base, for what should be obvious reasons. That will be an entirely off-screen affair; that's just the way they would've actually talked about it in-character.

@Fantasy Liver: I fully intend to keep medical insurance; that much was never in doubt. It's just really uncertain currently what the best means for me to get that is.

Anyway, with that post I should once again get going for tonight. Tomorrow's shift is scheduled exactly the same as today's was; I suspect I might need a little more rest after work than I did today, depending on how well I sleep tonight, so I might be a little bit later getting on. I'll also have to aim for getting to bed just a little bit earlier because Wednesday's shift starts a little earlier. Other than that, the day will probably be much the same.

Okay, first off, I'd like to say I'm not dropping out of this yet, but I haven't had much time to look around TV Tropes right now, let alone CoLC with its fast average posting rate, so it might be a while until I even try to recap and then post. I'll try this weekend but I highly doubt it.

I won't be re-joining the RP for a while though since I still need to get my laptop back, but once that happens I should be ready to go.

After some thought I have decided that I will indeed be sitting out for the rest of the day. I will continue posting for Ben on Day 14.

Anyone have any ideas for a Hand Wave that won't end up with Ben splattered messily on the floor?

Anyway, I'm here now and fully recapped. I'm still feeling a little bummed about life, but I don't feel as tired today. I'm going to check on some things and maybe watch a few videos to see if I can't cheer up before I try to work on a post.

Well, once again I better get going for tonight. Tomorrow's shift ends at the same time today's did but starts a littler earlier; however I'm also supposed to get a thirty minute break, though for the RP that doesn't mean too much.

I might be going out for dinner at some point tomorrow later in the day, but other than that it'll probably be much like today was, again.

As stated in the Skype chat some time ago, I'm leaving on a two week cruise tomorrow, and won't be able to post. I will see all of you in 14/16 days.

(Oh, and Fantasy, Skooter and Pro, feel free to have your characters try to interact with Eve, but there are OOC and IC reasons she won't reapond)

Is there any other place in the bumper car attraction to look for things like a storage room?

Sorry that I haven't posted in the past day or two. I've been pretty sick, and still am.

@secretlyasuperhero: Oh, alright. If I had remembered that, I wouldn't have had the other characters pop up around Eve, sorry.

@Korodzik: To clarify since it was only sort of alluded to earlier in this thread, my current plan for Rachel is to simply stop posting for her for now, since both All Hail Thrall and James Shields seem to be opting out of the rest of Day 13, and them going with Rachel is the handwave for taking Ben and Caro out of focus for the time being.

So unless you want to do the same, you'll probably want to have Garrett split up with them. (Either on purpose or by accident.)

Anyway, I'm here now and fully recapped. There doesn't seem to be much for me to specifically respond to today, so my post probably won't take too long to type. Still, as usual I'm going to check on some things first.

I didn't actually realize that he wasn't yelling, I'm sorry.

I'm pretty sure the joke is that Karkat is yelling, but doesn't think that he is.

Otherwise, putting the text in allcaps despite the character not actually yelling is up there with "replacing Bs with 8s" in terms of stuff you shouldn't do for spoken character dialogue.

It's fine, i'm sure everybody's made the same mistake.

EDIT: Or that. That works too.

Alright, with that post I better get going once again. Now tomorrow's shift is rather short, ending a whole two and a half hours before today's shift did. So unless I need to rest for longer after getting home, I expect to be on about that much earlier.

One of my friends and I did discuss possibly hanging out tomorrow though, so I might not be on much after I see about any initial posting.
