I know there's a certain place for identifying media, but I couldn't find it.

I'm trying to get a name to a children's book I read a long time ago. It was amusing, but I never finished it all the way because it was really odd, and at the time, difficult to get through.

  • The main character was girl who I think was an orphan
    • She was trying to avoid having a lobotomy because there was something weird about her
    • Her guardian was 42nd (or something) removed cousin
  • The entire book rhymed, and it was 300-400 pages long
    • The only line I clearly remember was about how the girl's parents drank poisoned orange juice
  • They were in this society that was rather dilapidated
  • The girl was friends with a monster
    • I think monsters were a common part in the world
  • There were pictures by the chapter
  • The author is probably English, as I remember being confused by centre repeatedly

Anything? Thanks.

I believe that the place to ask is "Remember That Show?", found in the "Troperville" menu on the site's menu-panel.

I don't know the book in question, but it does indeed seem very odd, by your description. o_0

Thanks! Didn't see it.

That's why I'd like to finish it now,
