Oh yeah, the food thing is a constant, although the emphasis does shift a little near the end just because there is so, so much going on with the plot.

The cool thing with Dungeon Meshi is that it's not "deep themes and also food." The food IS the deep themes.

We definitely moved past this being just the silly fantasy cooking anime. Some pretty great characterization for Chillchuck this episode.

And holy shit, the Mood Whiplash of the dragon hams just strolling along on their own.

I’m not confidant they’ll be able to finish the entirety with one cour without some removals.

Unless they do those OVA episode things that used to be a thing back in the day

Is there any indication that this will be the last cour? Like they could do a third if needed? Maybe a movie?

I can come back next week to see what everyone thinks of the pace.

Also the way spoke of OVAs just AGED me about thirty years.

I dont think it was ever said that this season will adapt the entire manga. Seems much more likely that they will cover about half of it and then make a second season down the line for the rest.

Fingers crossed… as I haven’t read the manga, I’ll be checking in.

And yeah, we've said multiple times already that there is just no way they can finish the whole series at this pace with the given amount of episodes. It would require at least another season.

Poor Chillchuck is all I can say

Its Netflix. Canceling after one season is a recurring thing with them (even if its not something exclusive to Netflix)-not to mention how things are run when it comes to anime seasons now in Japan

They tend to be better with anime. They brought the rights to the new Pokemon and the Seven Deadly Sins franchise has gone strong for a while.

There other examples besides that one? Aggrestsuko? What else?

I noticed that the dub uses “Mad Mage” instead of “Lunatic Magician.” Probably because of lipflaps

Also, Mad Mage is just catchier.

also avoids confusion because a magician and a mage can be different things
